I’ve stayed here twice. The rates are cheap, but the rooms are always really clean.
Breakfast options are limited. But it's nicely seasoned.
Strangely, many of the rooms in this hotel have no window.
Could you please use better quality beans for the ground coffee in the morning?
The room was clean and neat .It’s safe for solo travelers especially female solo traveler’s.The staffs are friendly and helpful . Will recommend this place to stay .
The view of lake Toba is stunning, beautiful Batak architecture style, but the room we stayed had some ants, otherwise is still clean, breakfast is local food, honestly we had a good stay, but really not for perfectionists.
Conveniently located near the airport and offers good value for money. While the place was clean, the overall cleanliness could use some improvement, and the exhaust fan wasn't functioning.
This hotel has a beautiful view, a playground, and a swimming pool. The rooms are large enough for families, but the building looks dated. Access is very easy, the location is on the roadside, and the parking is very spacious. The breakfast is quite varied and quite tasty.
Basic room but clean ( not comfy though). Strategic location within walking distance to Plaza Medan Fair and Damri bus station to/fro Kuala Namu Airport. Kakiku massage just steps away. Breakfast is simple but adequate.
Our family of four stayed at deSatu Hotel during a short trip to Medan, and it was a pleasant surprise! The location is unbeatable right next to Centre Point Mall and just a short walk from the train station, which made getting around with kids super convenient. The rooms were compact but clean, with cold AC and strong water pressure in the shower a must after a long day exploring the city.
While the hotel doesn’t offer breakfast, we found plenty of food options nearby, including local favorites like Soto Sinar Pagi. The staff were friendly and helpful, even offering tips on where to eat and how to get around. The only downside was a bit of street noise at night, but nothing that kept us awake.
Overall, it’s a great value for families looking for a clean, central, and budget-friendly stay in Medan.
Great and amazing hotel, I just think I went there at the wrong time which was before Christmas a few days and not the weekend so it was so quiet and breakfast was by choice from menu and only 1 type allowed but was still ok z thanks

Very Good
AAnonymous UserVery nice hotel. Rooftop pool with superb view of the Medan City. In a nice area with plenty of popular restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast have a good variety of local dishes to try. Just the waiting time for checkin and checkout is a little bit long. But undoubtedly will stay here again.
AAnonymous UserA dated, but generally nice hotel.
Unfortunately, the cleanliness leaves something to be desired, and details and amenities are lacking.
However, the accommodation, with its beautiful view, is perfect for Instagram posts.
The location is quiet and quite remote.
The service is very friendly and attentive, although communication in English was a bit sluggish at times.
Overall, a good stay, but the price is too high.
TTrip.com local guidesThe service from the staff was very decent. But the room was severely lacking. The bed was sunken in …. There was an odor in the hallway. The air conditioning made a lot of noise. Non smoking rooms are indeed available but many guests flout the rules and if you’re unlucky like I was assigned a room next to a very heavy smoker the smoke from his room was entering mine through the gaps in the partition door.
JJazzmineOur family’s first experience staying at Dolok Sanggul. The cool air approached while we were in this city. CHADS offers the beauty of nature, culture and typical Toba cuisine. The price of stay is very affordable. The interior of the room, lobby and corners of the room are also very interesting. The filosofi about the establishment of this CHADS is also very interesting to me personally. Don't forget to explore the surrounding area especially BAKARA, the beauty of Lake Toba from other fields' perspectives. See you CHADS!
ЕЕвгенийRoom with a window, with normal Wi-Fi. There is a large work desk, a large bed. The only thing missing is a refrigerator. This is one of the best hotels in the city, so we can safely recommend it for check-in.
Hearty breakfasts, a restaurant downstairs where you can eat throughout the day for not the highest prices. Good location next to a large shopping center, supermarket and night food outlets.
GGuest UserThe service was good, one highlight to afternoon staff, when I approach the counter for check in, there is one one man came to reception in the middle of my registration and asking about the room availability, I expect the staff will say, can I get back to you? let me handle her first, but instead he check the room availability on the different system beside mine. At last he handled me. He might be only make sure that there is room vacant, but you can only focus on who come first and then you can move on to another, after all its accor brand. Overall experience the room is clean, the bathroom very god and clean. Will be back for sure
AAnderson4506The hotel is old, things are run down there’s free Wi-Fi, but I never see it working breakfast. Caters only locals almost nothing available for Westerners overall it’s not a bad stay, but for my next trip, this would not be my first choice. If I have to I will stay again. Also, there are cheaper options about the same quality. The hotel stuff is nice though helpful
GGuest UserThe bed in the room wasn't level with the floor, so we had to prop it up with notepads. There was also a hole in the door that insects could get in through.
LLynn99I recently stayed at the Samosir Cottage on Samosir Island from November 29 to December 1, 2024.
The room was spacious, a significant plus. However, the toilet area required attention, with ants present, as mentioned in previous reviews. While this was acceptable for me, it's an area for improvement.
What truly impressed me was the exceptional service from the receptionist. They clearly explained options and kindly upgraded us to a bigger room. Their helpfulness and professionalism made a significant difference in our stay.
We booked two deluxe rooms, but the first room had a smoke smell, prompting us to request a change or upgrade.
Overall, while there's room for improvement in bathroom maintenance and mattress covers, the Samosir Cottage's spacious rooms and excellent service make it a solid choice for those visiting Samosir Island.
