We had such a lovely stay at Samosir villa resort that we extended with 2 more days. The place has a amazing location. Great staff and a very good restaurant. I would definatly recommend staying Here.

We stayed here just for one night before catching the train the next day. The room itself was nice, clean, and the bed was comfortable, which was perfect for a short stay. However, all the rooms open directly onto the main lobby, so it gets very noisy early in the morning. If you’re a light sleeper, this can definitely be disturbing. There’s also a very large dehumidifier in the corridor that makes a constant, unpleasant noise.

I recently stayed at the Samosir Cottage on Samosir Island from November 29 to December 1, 2024. The room was spacious, a significant plus. However, the toilet area required attention, with ants present, as mentioned in previous reviews. While this was acceptable for me, it's an area for improvement. What truly impressed me was the exceptional service from the receptionist. They clearly explained options and kindly upgraded us to a bigger room. Their helpfulness and professionalism made a significant difference in our stay. We booked two deluxe rooms, but the first room had a smoke smell, prompting us to request a change or upgrade. Overall, while there's room for improvement in bathroom maintenance and mattress covers, the Samosir Cottage's spacious rooms and excellent service make it a solid choice for those visiting Samosir Island. The reception service is satisfactory, the location is hidden, the yard needs to be landscaped with lots of trees, the parking is quite spacious, the cleanliness is good, the rooms are very neat and spacious. The AC is cold, the bathroom is clean and the equipment is good.

The hotel was unable to find in Waze and Google Map until we asked someone. The front desk staff aren't well verse in English and struggling to understand our English and broken bahasa Indonesia. Booked a room via trip.com and promised King bed but the hotel staff said all economy room comes with queen bed. We found booking information was misleading and felt cheated. There wasn't a toilet paper in the bathroom and I asked for twice. Promised to deliver but did not. The pillows of the room are not for normal human being and my partner has to remove more than half of the ” artificial form” of the pillows to reduce height.( I m more than 5 feet and he is more than 6 feet height).... otherwise it is IMPOSSIBLE to sleep with this kind of pillow.

Hotel is well located with a fantastic view of the lake. Service is excellent. Special mention to Ms Elsa P. She is very attentive and went out of her way to ensure we can get to the resort safely and that our needs are well taken care of. 5 stars to Elsa.

Positives: I had stayed for three nights and I had come back to the hotel at different timings and on foot and in a vehicle. Bravo to the security who are always on alert and there a couple of them. The hotel offers very attractive prices. The service staff is excellent on the couple of times I had made enquires. Housekeeping is excellent. Even my clothes are nearly folded and tucked away. Do remember to tip them. Space is big. The luggage support is very useful. Cons Maybe it is time to renovate the toilets

The service from the staff was very decent. But the room was severely lacking. The bed was sunken in …. There was an odor in the hallway. The air conditioning made a lot of noise. Non smoking rooms are indeed available but many guests flout the rules and if you’re unlucky like I was assigned a room next to a very heavy smoker the smoke from his room was entering mine through the gaps in the partition door.

Perfect getaway for the family. Celebrated Christmas and everything was great. Tidy and clean spacious rooms. A beautiful view and many activities to rely on. Will definitely recommend it

Basic room but clean ( not comfy though). Strategic location within walking distance to Plaza Medan Fair and Damri bus station to/fro Kuala Namu Airport. Kakiku massage just steps away. Breakfast is simple but adequate.
