4-Star Hotels in Anhui, China

On the first day, it rained almost continuously during our hike, so we missed many scenic spots. Even with raincoats, we got soaked, cold, wet, tired, and disappointed. However, as soon as we arrived at this hotel, a staff member named Xiao Ye provided almost one-on-one service. She escorted us to our room, turned on the heating, and thoughtfully advised us on how to dry our clothes and shoes. She also gave us detailed tips for the next day's hike, which became the highlight of our day. It's not easy to build a hotel on a mountaintop, but they were well-prepared with heating, shoe dryers, umbrellas, flashlights, and down jackets. In the evening, the hotel staff put on a performance, and early the next morning, there was a guided sunrise tour. Unfortunately, it was foggy, so we didn't see the sunrise, which was a bit of a letdown for our Huangshan trip. However, the excellent service at Baiyun Hotel exceeded my expectations. If I come again, this will definitely be my first choice.

Convenient transportation, thoughtful service, clean rooms, and the mattress is very Hilton style, which is replaced quarterly. This time it is used from April to June, and it is comfortable to sleep. It is worth mentioning that the small dishes and noodles for breakfast in the hotel are good, and I personally think they are delicious.

Let's start with the positives. 1. **Excellent Location**: Huaihe Road Pedestrian Street is right downstairs, and so is Kawaoka (a popular local bubble tea chain). 2. **Outstanding Laundry Service**: The lady working in the laundry room was incredibly helpful. She washed, dried, and even folded our clothes, then brought them back to our room. 3. **Good Breakfast**: The breakfast had a great variety, and there's a kids' play area in the restaurant, which allowed adults to enjoy their meal while the children played. Now for the disappointments. 1. **Overwhelming Smoke Smell**: The entire hotel reeked of smoke! There were ashtrays by the elevators on every floor – are they encouraging smoking? As soon as we opened our room door, a strong smoky smell hit us, which totally goes against the impression I have of the Mercure brand. 2. **Outdated Room Facilities**: While the hotel only opened in 2021, the facilities are poorly maintained. Many floorboards are peeling and cracked, which was quite disappointing upon entering the room. 3. **No Air Conditioning**: We were told that it wasn't the season for AC, and only a central fan was available. The weather was very hot, and while they provided a fan for the room, it was incredibly noisy at night! I woke up in a sweat. 4. **Unimpressive Lobby Entrance**: The hotel lobby is on the 5th floor, and the entrance from the 1st floor was rather unappealing, giving it a feel more like a family guesthouse than a hotel. Overall, if you're staying for just one night for the location, it's acceptable. However, the overall experience simply can't compare to other Mercure hotels in different cities. With so many other hotels available, I wouldn't necessarily choose this one again.

My first time in Lu'an led me to this amazing hotel – the Hampton by Hilton Lu'an Shanghe Street. It's truly the perfect choice for both business trips and family vacations! The seamless transition from the underground parking to the lobby means you don't even have to worry about getting wet on a rainy day, which immediately won over this detail-oriented person ❤️ The front desk attendant was also super nice and upgraded my room – five stars for that service! 📍 **Location & Transportation** The hotel is right in the heart of the Foziling East Road commercial district. You can walk to convenience stores and restaurants in just 5 minutes, and it's only a 10-minute drive to the high-speed rail station. The best part is that even though it's in a bustling area, the room's soundproofing is excellent, so it's completely quiet. Plus, the city night view from the window is absolutely stunning~ ✨ **Stay Experience** • The room is incredibly spacious! It features smart devices and modern decor, and it even has a super comfy sofa, similar to a La-Z-Boy, that makes you never want to get up. • For breakfast, I highly recommend the freshly made stir-fried noodles and cookies. There's such a wide variety of Chinese and Western dishes, you'll be spoiled for choice. • The 24-hour free gym and laundry room are a lifesaver for business travelers. • The lobby is also great for photos, perfect for snapping shots both day and night. 📸 **Photo Tips** 1️⃣ The city night view + sofa in front of the floor-to-ceiling window in your room makes for Instagram-worthy shots. 3️⃣ The window seats in the breakfast area have the best lighting, making food photography super appealing. 🛎️ **Things to Do Nearby** • Walk 10 minutes to Shanghe Street, Lu'an's new landmark. • A taxi ride to Youran Lanxi Resort is within 15 RMB. • There's a popular local steamed bun shop, a long-standing favorite, directly across from the hotel. 💡 **Practical Info** • **Booking**: Recommend booking a high-floor city view room at least 3 days in advance. • **Parking**: Free underground parking with plenty of spaces. • **Bonus**: You can get a local food map at the front desk – follow it for guaranteed deliciousness! I never expected Lu'an to have such a fantastic international hotel. From now on, when I come to Western Anhui, this is the only place I'll stay!

It's just a stone's throw from Huangshan's South Gate, and a short distance from the city's transfer center and highway entrance, making it incredibly easy to explore. Imagine waking up to the gentle whispers of the pine trees, ready for a day of adventure, and returning in the evening amidst the mountain mist, with the comforting glow of nearby lights beckoning. After soaking in the stunning scenery, you can indulge in the vibrant local cuisine, with numerous eateries offering authentic Huizhou flavors right at your doorstep. Stepping into your room, the curtains gracefully open to reveal breathtaking mountain views that instantly captivate. During my stay, whether it was a clear day with blue skies and white clouds, or a misty, rainy one, the ever-changing panorama outside felt like living within a moving traditional ink wash painting. Sipping coffee by the window, watching the clouds drift over the ridges and the mist gather and disperse in the valleys – this is truly a private, cherished view. The Hilton, having recently undergone a complete renovation, boasts spacious and bright guest rooms with an open, airy layout. The bathrooms are clean, refreshing, and feature separate wet and dry areas. On the second floor, you'll find a well-equipped gym, a self-service laundry, and dryers, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free stay. The rooms are smart and modern, with a mini-fridge and coffee/tea provisions, and even a robot for attentive service, showcasing thoughtful details for convenience. The pristine, soft bedding provides gentle support after a day of hiking, promising a restful night's sleep and awakening to the fresh embrace of the mountains. The ground-floor restaurant offers the comforting aroma of Huizhou kitchen, with a diverse menu of Chinese hot dishes and Western pastries to suit all tastes. In the lobby, complimentary coffee, fruit drinks, and delicate pastries are always available, adding a touch of gentle warmth to your mountain retreat. The front desk staff are polite, enthusiastic, and patient. They kindly offer complimentary umbrellas on rainy days, and you can purchase outdoor essentials like hiking poles, adding an extra layer of preparedness for your mountain adventures. This stay was a perfectly timed pause in my journey – not stealing the spotlight, but quietly and perfectly preserving the beauty of Huangshan. I would gladly choose to stay here again, hoping to open the window once more to the sight of green mountains.

I'm from the U.S.A. and easily recommend this hotel to other foreigners as a great value. Beds are comfortable. Rooms nicely appointed. Buffet breakfast offers some western choices along with Chinese and as a picky eater, I can find enough to eat. As a repeat guest, I can also state that my room is always clean and the linens fresh. Listings for the rooms highlight the mattress and the air cleaners. I travel a lot for work and it feels like a quality mattress that I'd expect at higher-end hotels. The air filter is a more recent addition and I welcome it as I have had stays where the cigarette smoke from neighboring rooms was detectable in my room. The location can be noisy facing the street so if you're a lighter sleeper, you'll want to get a room on the back side of the building. On this last stay, the refrigerator in my room wasn't working but was quickly replaced when reported. My stays would be more enjoyable if there weren't any folks smoking indoors but this isn't the norm in China.

Free pick-up/drop-off at Hefei South Station: The pick-up and drop-off service was very thoughtful and attentive. The business van was spacious and the seats were very comfortable. 😊 Late check-out until 3:00 PM (subject to availability): We were traveling with our child, and our baby was asleep at the normal check-out time. Yumi and Henry were very thoughtful and helped us request a late check-out. It was so heartwarming! ❤️ Facilities: We chose the family room type, with an Octonauts theme. Our baby had a great time, and the room was very cozy and comfortable. I especially loved the large bathtub; the little one absolutely adored it. The magnifying mirror was also excellent! 👍 The hotel's breakfast was delicious, and the laundry room was very convenient, even with a dryer – super considerate! Upon check-in, we also received a welcome gift: hand cream and a snack pack for the baby! 🎁 So much attention to detail. We'll definitely choose Rezen again next time!

Finally struck gold! This hotel is absolutely amazing. The room was so clean it shined, and the bedding was so soft it felt like sleeping on a cloud. The front desk lady was incredibly gentle, and the breakfast spread had so many options I didn't know what to choose. The location is also convenient, right next to a shopping district. I'll definitely stay here again next time! This hotel is a godsend for business trips! The soundproofing is incredible; it was so quiet at night I fell asleep instantly. The toilet and screen mirroring were huge bonuses. The freshly ground coffee and pastries for breakfast were a thoughtful touch, and check-out was super fast, making the service incredibly efficient. Definitely five stars! This is my top choice! The room decor is so cute, I was jumping with joy the moment I walked in. The cleaning staff came every day to tidy up, and the playground downstairs was super convenient. They even have a special children's dining area for breakfast. The value for money is just fantastic! Scenic view lovers, rejoice! The room's floor-to-ceiling window directly faces the lake. Waking up to the morning mist around the lake was breathtaking. The bedding was so comfortable I didn't want to get up, and the staff were always available when called. Even parking is free. It was such a comfortable stay, I've already recommended it to everyone I know! It truly lives up to its reputation! The view outside is expansive, and you can watch the sunrise in the morning. The service staff are always available and responsive to every request. The freshly made noodles for breakfast were delicious and so heartwarming!

First off, I have to point out something odd: in a hotel in Hefei, the decorative map in the room (picture 7) was actually a map of Anqing (facing west). A bit out of place! **Facilities:** The separate shower and toilet are great. The room also had a projector, smart toilet, and electric curtains – very modern overall. However, the air conditioning's auto mode seemed to be broken; it wouldn't blow air, so I had to manually set it to heat. **Hygiene:** Very clean. There were alcohol wipes and disposable toilet seat covers next to the toilet, and all the personal hygiene products were well-stocked. Overall, it was clean, bright, and odor-free. **Environment:** The modern decor was fresh and bright. It's about a five-minute walk to the nearby BRT and subway stations, making transportation convenient. However, the soundproofing for the toilet and shower area near the room's entrance wasn't great; I could clearly hear loud conversations from the next room. **Service:** The front desk staff were very friendly. Check-in was super easy; you just scanned a mini-program QR code at the front desk. The restaurant was closed for the holiday, and even though I booked a room without breakfast, the front desk kindly provided a small pastry and milk as a complimentary breakfast.

We had a lovely stay at Yujian No.8 in Huangshan Tunxi Old Street. The room was very spacious and beautifully designed with an artistic and elegant touch, creating a warm and unique atmosphere. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Tunxi Old Street. It was very convenient to simply step outside and enjoy walking along the historic street, exploring the shops, local snacks, and the charming surroundings. The butler service was excellent. They kindly helped us arrange transportation to Huangshan Scenic Area and also to the railway station, which made our travel very smooth and convenient. They also provided great recommendations for delicious local food. Their warm hospitality truly made our stay more enjoyable. Overall, it was a delightful experience and a perfect place to stay while visiting Huangshan.
