3-Star Hotels in Attica, Greece

The hotel was soooooo hard to find. It was in a small street, and there was no street sign. Thank to the luggage store owner, who close his shop and lead us to the hotel. It didn't look very safe to walk at night.......

After a excellent Viking cruise from Istanbul to Athens, we extended the city stay for three nights in Amazon Hotel. The hotel's location is central to most tourist attractions. The reason is as follow: what I found was that, on the map, one line up Syntagma square and Monastraki square with a straight line, the two streets connect the two is Ermou and Mitropoleos st. These two streets pretty well could be the reference point to most of the attractions. Amazon hotel is located on Mitropoleos st, next to Electra Hotel which is a bigger hotel and use it to ask direction in case you are lost. How do you find Mitropoleos st from Syntagma square/Metro station, the street is located the ”far” from the front of Hellenic Paramount building steps, in term of the clock direction, 12 o'clock is Ermou, 11 o'clock is Mitropoleos st. The hotel is only a few block away. The front of the Paramount building faces Monastraki square. The hotel is very good in term of staffs, service, cleanliness, breakfast, and location. Walkable to Acropolis, Anafiotiki, Monastraki square, National Park..etc. There are a lot of places to eat, but, unthinkable, I liked a Vietnamese restaurant the best nearby call Hanoi restaurant, one street over before Ermou, excellent food, specially the steam rice roll, big dishes. If you want to go to Airport from Synthama Metro, I suggested that you take couple stations back toward Piraeus to avoid the crowd, make sure you buy the 9 Euro airport ticket, someone was checking at the airport station. I went to Acropolis at 4:30pm, no line up for ticket. I also like to walk in all the old churches I came across, some are thousand years old and have beautiful arts. I also find, surprisingly, National Garden very relaxing, the sound of crickets and also lead me to the Olympic stadium and Arch of Hadrian,then Acropolis square, but don't go to Acropolis this way, go thru the church instead, ask the hotel front desk.

Excellent hotel to stay for a night or two. It’s just next to train station where train to Thessaloniki departs from. Staff is very friendly and will help you with everything. Room is pretty spacious and I was lucky enough to get a room with a tremendous terrace that had an amazing view on the little park in front of the train station, balconies of nearby buildings and mountains far far away. The only disadvantage can be probably bathroom which is pretty small and when taking a shower it’s guaranteed that most of the water will end up on the floor, but it’s a minor problem that will probably not matter for a short term stays.

They have wonderful breakfast a lot variety and the service on the reception is fine.and close to city center and clean rooms. They have a place for your luggage if you check out and put your luggage they for some time. You can enjoye the cafe on the ground

Excellent value for money hotel in a fantastic location just a few minutes walk from Athens’ most visited spots. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and spacious and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. No tea/coffee making facilities but I don’t know if that’s normal in Athens, but there is a fridge and great air conditioning. Then roof top bar in their sister hotel Plaka is well worth a visit. Highly recommend.

This is an exceptionally lovely place to stay in the centre of Athens. Walking distance to the Acropolis, Plaka District and all the fabulous restaurants. Very nice rooms and amenities with very friendly staff. Excellent service. Make sure you go up to the roof top bar for food and drinks with a fabulous night time view of the Acropolis and make sure you say hi to Marios… the best and friendliest of bar hosts!

This was my second stay at Athens Center Square Hotel and it was as good as the first. Location is fantastic in the old marketplace with a great restaurant at the corner and easy walk to Monesteri and metro. It is a budget hotel - so don't expect luxury and can be a little rough around the edges, but the price is good and the staff is fantastic. From the roof-top bar you get as good a view of the Acropolis as you have from any luxury hotel with friendly service and good prices at the bar. Breakfast included in the rate and was excellent with a large variety of fresh local items plus standard international options. Highly recommended if you want great value, comfortable rooms and fantastic staff. Not luxury, but my choice in Athens every time!

This is an extremely nice hotel situated in a perfect location. Our stay and review are based on a Superior room You would be hard pressed to find an Athens hotel in a better location. You are right in the middle of all the action with shops and restaurants nearby. You are spoilt for choice. Although in a busy area we found the excellent double- glazed doors/windows kept any noises out and it was not an issue at all. Our Superior room came with a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities although that is not listed on their website. It may be worth e-mailing them if this is important to you. There was air-con but in March there was no need to make use of it so we cannot comment on its efficiency. The toilet/bathroom came with those tiny bottles of shampoo and body wash which we refuse to use on environmental grounds so we brought our own and used that. There was a sign saying that if the used towels were hung up then it was assumed that we were happy to reuse them. The cleaners replaced them daily regardless. The rooms were kept very clean. This hotel has much going for it. We grabbed a deal here at a very attractive price which included breakfast. The breakfast arrangements were in a fairly small area but we felt that a good selection was provided considering the space limitations. Plenty of fresh vegetable choices and delicious too. The Tomatoes and Cucumber just tasted so much better than we are used to. Cereals, bread, cakes, fruit and coffee from a machine. We looked forward to our breakfast every morning and didn’t grow tired of it. Minor gripes (being very picky). The over the bath shower was a mini battle in so much that it was prone to shoot water out onto the floor if you weren’t being careful. It could have been better but all we had to do was to adjust our showering habits and all was ok in the end. Our room had a balcony facing out to the street below. It would have been nice for a couple of chairs out there rather than just a large pot plant and the air-con unit for company. I did notice that no other balconies on other building had chairs out so perhaps that is just the Athens way. We had a Fridge in our room. Very welcome. A very close mini supermarket was the cheapest place we could find to buy water. E0.39 for 1.5 litres as I recall. We loved this hotel. All the staff were so nice and so helpful. I can’t remember all of their names but Irena and Eva come to mind. They helped make our stay wonderful. It had a curiously homely feel about the place. March time was a great time of the year as it was a pleasant day time temperature with it getting a bit chilly in the evenings. You could still dine outdoors but with a patio heater nearby. We loved Athens and have decided to return next March with the flights already booked. We will stay at the Plaka Hotel again. 5 stars from us

This hotel is highly recommend for both its LOCATION and very efficient/PROFESSIONAL staffs at reception! From Monastiraki a 7min walk / frm Syntagma 3mins walk! Buffet breakfast; EXCELLENT! I arrived on the day where the public road was closed due to an annual street demonstration, not to mention the fatigue I’m encountering after traveling for 3 months BUT the great hospitality at Arethusa made everything pleasant. Rooftop terrace at Lvl 9 gives a view of Acropoli, PERFECT! Room is well equipped, SPOTLESSLY CLEAN! Standing shower has a great water pressure.Extra comforter is provided in cupboard which is very helpful during this winter. A/C heater in room works well too! Arethusa Hotel deserves a better grade for its excellent service/quality! I am glad i managed to book a room with them! Highly recommend to both solo travellers or couple, street is quiet/safe in the night. THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFFS OF ARETHUSA!

Perfectly serviceable room for an eight-day solo trip tourist Athens. I ended up on the fourth (top) floor. There is a small elevator but it runs from first floor to third so you need to do a bit of stair climbing regardless, but handy after a long day's hiking around Athens. Tended to only use it for up! Reception is already up some stairs and breakfast in the basement so not great if you'll struggle with stairs. I imagine other properties of this type of similar though. My room (standard double) was compact, but perfectly fine for a solo trip where I didn't intend to spend very long there. A couple may want a little more space. That all said, I was pleased with the size of the shower as small rooms often come with even more pokey showers. This was plenty big enough and more. There was a small balcony but didn't really seem intended to be used as such (and you wouldn't want to open the door in any heat - this was November) but good to check out the outside temperature to dress appropriately. Room cleaned, towels changed daily (rather more often the necessary) and a least one bottle of water replenished each day. More than I expected for a relatively budget hotel. The hotel is on Syngrou Avenue one of the main dual-carriageway routes in to the city (and a block back from the curving Kallirrois so outside can be noisy at times (rush hour), but I wasn't too bothered by that a slept well. Hotels away from the main road would have less hum-drum road noise but would be more likely to hear revellers or vehicles (and horns) navigating the narrow streets. The hotel is well located for the touristy spots mostly within 20-30 minutes walk but also handy for public transport (200m from Syngro-Fix metro). Even Lycabettus Hill is only an hours walk if you don't take public transport, and I actually walked back from the coast (Flisvos Marina) on one day. Breakfast okay, and got me started for the day but I have little comparison to elsewhere in Greece as I'm used to a full English back home. (To be fair, bacon, eggs, toast, cereal, and freshly squeeze-it-yourself orange juice, and a coffee machine all available, no real complaints). No bar/restaurant, but I didn't look for one when booking and it's not that sort of hotel. Helpful and friendly reception staff 24 hours. Perhaps a little tired in place, but a good place to stay if you're not expecting perfection.

There was a small balcony but didn't really seem intended to be used as such (and you wouldn't want to open the door in any heat - this was November) but good to check out the outside temperature to dress appropriately. Room cleaned, towels changed daily (rather more often the necessary) and a least one bottle of water replenished each day. More than I expected for a relatively budget hotel. The hotel is on Syngrou Avenue one of the main dual-carriageway routes in to the city (and a block back from the curving Kallirrois so outside can be noisy at times (rush hour), but I wasn't too bothered by that a slept well. Hotels away from the main road would have less hum-drum road noise but would be more likely to hear revellers or vehicles (and horns) navigating the narrow streets. The hotel is well located for the touristy spots mostly within 20-30 minutes walk but also handy for public transport (200m from Syngro-Fix metro). Even Lycabettus Hill is only an hours walk if you don't take public transport, and I actually walked back from the coast (Flisvos Marina) on one day. Breakfast okay, and got me started for the day but I have little comparison to elsewhere in Greece as I'm used to a full English back home. (To be fair, bacon, eggs, toast, cereal, and freshly squeeze-it-yourself orange juice, and a coffee machine all available, no real complaints). No bar/restaurant, but I didn't look for one when booking and it's not that sort of hotel. Helpful and friendly reception staff 24 hours. Perhaps a little tired in place, but a good place to stay if you're not expecting perfection.

My wife and I stayed here for one night - it was clean and it got the job done. It's great for an overnight stay close to the Athens airport. The apartment itself was good, spacious, and had a great bathroom/shower. The bed wasn't our favorite and it's on the smaller side for two, but the rest was good and I'd recommend this if you need to crash somewhere near the airport.

It states that the shuttle is free, but when I contacted them on the day, they did not arrive on time and I was unable to use the shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Also, the transfer from the hotel to the airport was delayed by about 10 minutes. I was worried that the hotel would arrive 10 minutes late, even though I had waited exactly as specified by the hotel. (I was nervous because I was scheduled to board a plane that day.) I think I had opened the window to ventilate the air, but there were a lot of mosquitoes in the room, and I killed dozens of them, but the noise of the mosquitoes at night made me panic. I was woken up many times, and in the morning there were still many of them. The room was clean and tidy, and the shower temperature and water pressure were great.

We were looking to book a hotel closer to the airport than Athens because we had a very early Morning flight home the next day. The price was very reasonable and the photos looked great so we decided to book it. There is no staff on site but they were very on top of texting us info on how to get into the building upon our arrival. We jumped on the Wi-Fi at the airport before heading out to make sure we had the codes before we left. It was about a 10 min drive and the building looks very new especially among the surrounding buildings. The room was very clean. This is just a basic room with basic needs. Perfect for your if you just need to sleep. It’s not in an area I would go walking around in necessarily it didn’t seem to have much nearby. We opted out of getting dinner because we were too tired to Uber anywhere. There was a coffee maker which I absolutely need in the morning with Nespresso which I love. The bathroom was basic but only had a handheld shower. You do have to good it to wash off. They offered shower gel only which was fine we had all of our shampoo and conditioner and soap. So if you need those things make sure to have them in hand. The building was very quiet which was great. This place worked if you aren’t looking for a fully functional hotel with all the amenities. It’s a great price for what you get.

We had a bit of a story, the taxi driver took us from the airport to a 35 min drive to an area called Spetson in another location. He didn’t read the address carefully ((. In fact the hotel is conveniently located at 15-17 min from the airport. Has many coffe shops in the area. We liked the Coava rock cafe bar for evening relaxing drink. Didn’t take pictures of the room, but it was clean, had air conditioner, hot water, and all that you require for a short stay.

There were two cockroach !

We booked the appartment due to its proximity to the airport. We were blown away by the beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean appartment. A real gem. Restaurants only a walk away plus a supermarket even closer. Very happy with our choice. It would make a good base for longer stays

I made a reservation in mainland China for my daughter who is in Germany and going to Greece. It is a hotel apartment near Athens Airport, about 8 kilometers away. The room is large and clean. Because I had an early flight at 6 a.m. the next day and didn't want to go to the city of Athens, I booked it that night. The landlord is very nice and amiable. If you contact her 15 minutes before arriving at the store, you can check in at the apartment. When you are alone in a foreign country, when you are not familiar with the place, when you don’t understand the language well, or when the plane is delayed, you have to go. Living near Athens Airport really gives me a sense of security and landing. The landlady also helped arrange a taxi to Athens Airport at 4:30 the next morning, which was ultimately delivered by the landlady herself. grateful! I would also like to thank Ctrip’s after-sales service staff, who helped with a lot of confirmation, coordination and service between 12:00 and 1:00 late at night, mainland time. Thank you very much!

we missed our flight and had to stay for 1 more night in Athens hence we chanced upon this hotel/apartment and glad we did stay cuz it's all we needed after a whole day at the airport. there a kettle, microwave, condiments and even complimentary bottled water and breadsticks. I booked the room at 10pm for 3 adults 1 child and yet they managed to set up the 2 singles beds instead as advertised sofa bed. we are truly grateful for this place and will highly recommend it to all. even the price is affordable. its really clean and comfortable. Mr Thasos is very helpful and kind.

The hotel, was used as a place to stay the night for a cruise on Celestyal Olympia. The room was clean, but had older furniture, some of which was beyond it's prime. Bedding was OK, but not great. I had no issues sleeping. The room was really big with plenty of space, and the small kitchen area, which we did not need was good for families. Balcony was nice, but did lack furniture on it. Location was right where all the food is, with some night life. Next morning we were within 1 to 2 miles of parking and cruise building. The bad was I book hotels with elevators for a disabled spouse, but the elevator was not on the street floor(0). You need to go up steps to floor 1, to check in and that is where the elevator is. Although I was able to leave mobility scooter in the car, it would not have been fun taking it up steps. I think this simple fact needs to be spelled out on their webpage. It did not affect my stay or most people it would not matter, but it could have changed where I stayed. Breakfast was included, but not anything fancy. Many hotels are similar and we really didn't care. As long as coffee was available, and some sort of danish or eggs. Overall, the hotel was a good stay, and a good location, and I can recommend it, if you need a place close to a cruise ship, or ferry.

Very comfortable living environment, the hotel owner and the proprietress are very good, introduced me to many local places to play, also provide very convenient airport transfer, the boss's English ability is very good communication is no problem, I live in a large room and balcony, Be sure to come back here next time, thank you
