"This hotel is great! The room looks exactly like the pictures online. The location is super convenient for getting around. They even rent out electric scooters on-site, and the staff are really helpful with directions. As someone from Malaysia who isn't familiar with the area, renting a scooter and following their explanations and maps was no problem at all 😂. They also offer a shuttle service to Lijiang, which is really cost-effective and convenient. They pick you up right at the entrance. "I first heard about this place on Instagram and thought it was so beautiful. Its incredible structure is just as gorgeous when you see it in person. The staff were very accommodating and attentive. It was so cool because they had a machine that translates different languages depending on what you speak. This was the first time I’d ever seen anything like it and found it very helpful as I don’t speak Mandarin. Breakfast isn’t included but you can purchase their set meals for 37 yuan and have it while looking out at the beautiful courtyard. If you need train station transfer, you can easily ask for it for 80 yuan per way which made my check in and check out process smooth. They also allow you to try on their cultural costumes for free. If you need hair, makeup and photography services than it’s 499 yuan. As a solo traveler, I decided to try it out. They were very nice, however I definitely struggled with the very white makeup since I myself am very tanned. In their defense they did their best with trying to give me something darker and in the makeup room it seemed fine. But with the different lighting outside and the camera flash, when I got my pictures back I basically had a ghost face 😞 The foundation also wasn’t applied to my neck and arms, so it was very apparent. I’ve asked the photographer to help standardize my skin so hopefully that helps whenever it’s done. You receive a total of 9 retouches photos as part of the package. However, if you prefer to do your own makeup or are traveling with others then they can take pictures for you instead. The place is very convenient for finding restaurants and if you’re primary goal is the visit the old town. It’s very close by, so I was able to explore easily and then return to the hotel for breaks when needed. Lastly, you can use their laundry machines and get laundry pellets for free. Ideally this is great. But I will say the drying part is dreadful. The instructions say to do the 2/3 rule. However, even when I followed and put a small batch of clothes in it never dried. I tried once for 1.5 hours, then again for another hour, and still nothing. That was probably the only real part that was frustrating."

"A wonderful stay! The room was absolutely gorgeous and well-designed. I was deeply impressed by the staff, who went above and beyond to help us. Best of all, it’s located very close to the high-speed train station, making our transit seamless and convenient. Would definitely come back!"

"The hotel's location is superb, close to Erhai Gate, offering a peaceful retreat while still being conveniently located. You can easily catch a taxi right outside. The rooms are clean and spacious. The owner is very welcoming and the service is attentive. Plus, you can pet the super cute cats! Waking up every morning to enjoy coffee while cuddling with the cats is an amazing experience. Highly recommend!!!"

"This is the best boutique hotel I stayed at during my trip to Dali and Yunnan. The property is exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. One of the highlights is the smart room system, including the intelligent toilet with bidet and other smart features that made the stay even more comfortable and convenient. The service was outstanding. The lady at the front desk was incredibly attentive, friendly, and responsive throughout my stay, always ready to assist whenever needed. And of course, I cannot forget the adorable little dog, “欢喜” – such a lovely mascot that added warmth and charm to the hotel experience! Another major advantage is the location. The hotel is situated just slightly away from the busy Old Town, allowing guests to enjoy a quieter environment while still being within easy walking distance of all the attractions. Unlike some accommodations inside the Old Town where you may need to drag your luggage through crowded streets, cars can stop directly in front of this hotel, making arrival and departure very convenient. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this boutique hotel to anyone planning a trip to Dali. If you’re deciding where to stay, this place is definitely worth considering. 😊"

"This hotel is conveniently located just off an alley within Dali Ancient City, easily accessible by taxi. It's perfect for travelers who enjoy a relaxed, nature-filled atmosphere. The courtyard, with its lush greenery and pond, is incredibly photogenic. We stayed on a rainy day, and they even provided a dryer and dehumidifier, which was a nice touch. Our room was in the back, so street noise wasn't an issue at night. It also had a small balcony, perfect for unwinding, and a tatami-style tea area, which I unfortunately didn't get to fully enjoy due to our schedule. The breakfast was a highlight – very nutritious and healthy, and the yuzu tea was delicious! The staff, both the guys and girls, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay! "

"I have lived in so many homestays in Dali, and April Yuyou really hit me. The location is excellent, just by the Haixi Ecological Corridor, the room and the public area are facing the 19th peak of Cangshan Mountain. Every evening, I watch the rose-gold sunset, watching the sun slowly garner from the Bohai Sea to the mountain, and no matter how tired it is, I will be cured. The whole house is heated, intelligent guest control, floor-to-ceiling windows to see the sea, and the details are in place. The most touching thing is the service: the butler sends the positioning in advance, helps the tour route, and brings a smile and greetings every time he meets, sincere and not routine. I just met the housekeeper playing guitar in the garden public area at night. The guests in different rooms were gathered together. It was so pleasant to sing and chat in the Cangshan and Erhai Sea! This is probably what Dali should look like. Breakfast is very local in Dali, freshly cooked rice noodles, milk fan wine brewed small dumplings, local stomach; after riding the car in the afternoon, the housekeeper will also hand over a delicate afternoon tea, eat while in a daze on the terrace, next time you come to Dali will choose their home! In a word: If you are also obsessed with the sunset and relaxation of Haixi, it will make you reluctant to leave. Remember to stay at least two nights"

"I had such a lovely stay at Mengjing Yayuan Hotel Dali. Everything about this hotel is beautiful, from the interior to the exterior, every corner feels thoughtfully designed and aesthetically pleasing. The ambience really adds to the whole Dali experience. The location is perfect. It’s right in Dali Ancient City, near the South Gate, so everything is within walking distance. For Muslim travellers, it’s also very convenient as there are halal food options nearby, making it easy to find meals. The service was truly top-notch. One thoughtful gesture that stood out was how they prepared breakfast for us during check-out, just to make sure we didn’t leave on an empty stomach. S uch a small detail, but it meant a lot. I’m really glad I chose to stay here, and I would definitely come back again if I visit Dali."

"The owner was incredibly welcoming and kind. They even picked us up from the bus station and took us to the guesthouse. Our room was spotless and fresh, with no unpleasant smells. The first floor of the guesthouse is absolutely beautiful! 😍 And the rooftop patio is amazing – you can relax on the swing, gaze at Cangshan Mountain in the distance, and admire the old town. It's incredibly peaceful and relaxing! I highly recommend booking here! It's super close to the South Gate of the old town, which is perfect for an evening stroll and experiencing the night market. Overall, a fantastic experience!"
