"This lovely B&B, recommended by friends and family, is conveniently located right next to Dali Ancient City. As soon as I stepped inside, I felt like I'd entered a vibrant, healing succulent paradise! The courtyard, hallways, and even the room windowsills were adorned with an array of uniquely shaped, colorful succulent pots. There were plump 'Peach Eggs,' layered 'Echeverias,' and 'Mountain Roses' that looked just like tiny roses, all shimmering under the sunlight. Even more delightful was discovering it's a cat haven! Several cats, each with their own distinct personality, roamed freely – some lazily sunbathing, others playfully darting about, and a few elegantly strolling. They weren't shy at all and would even come rub against your leg, practically begging for pets, instantly melting away any stress. The B&B owner is a warm and chatty young man. He not only helped with my luggage and gave recommendations for nearby attractions, but also thoughtfully prepared local snacks. His attentive and detailed service made me feel incredibly welcome. The room itself was cozy and comfortable, featuring wooden furniture paired with soft bedding. Outside the window, there was a lush green mountain view, and at night, you could hear the chirping of insects and birds. The serene environment made me want to simply unwind there and savor a slow-paced life away from the hustle and bustle."

The wooden stairs creak with every step, as if telling a story of bygone days. The owner is thoughtful and meticulous, providing peace of mind from check-in to check-out. There's no excessive commercialization here, only a perfectly relaxed atmosphere—a perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Next time I'm in Dali, I'll definitely stay here again!"

"I'd describe this as a basic budget hotel. The facilities are quite dated, and it doesn't quite measure up to a Days Inn by Wyndham. It's located right next to Erhai Lake Park. A taxi ride to Dali Old Town costs about 40+ RMB and takes nearly an hour. The hotel's top floor offers views of Erhai Lake. There's a bus stop downstairs with routes to Dali Station or Haidong Town, but be warned, buses are notoriously difficult to catch. Breakfast was average, and the same spread was offered for three days straight, though thankfully, there were some hot, cooked items. The room itself was reasonably clean and tidy. Overall, it's decent, especially considering the price point."

It's only a few hundred meters from the ancient city and very close to the food street. The bus station is right across the street, and electric scooter rentals are next door, which is super handy. "This has been the best B&B experience I've had in Yunnan so far! The room looks exactly like the pictures. The B&B is near Caicun village, and we stayed on the 3rd floor, which offered fantastic views. In front, we had the beautiful S-bend of Erhai Lake, and behind, large wisteria bushes and Cangshan Mountain. There's also an observation deck upstairs for even more unobstructed views. The room is spacious, with high-tech amenities and large floor-to-ceiling windows, so you can enjoy the scenery just by opening the curtains. I was pleasantly surprised that the water heater provided instant hot water. The courtyard is very clean, and the host even helped us with our luggage. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. (If you're driving, I'd recommend parking outside the village, as the roads inside are very narrow, making it difficult to pass oncoming cars and easy to scrape your vehicle.)"
