We had an amazing experience during our 4 night stay in the Xianlai inn (idle inn) in Dali. We were hosted by a wonderful couple that went above and beyond typical hotel hospitality. They met all our requests ( eg fixing our showering hose when the water output was too low, helping to extend our stay for 2 more night when our friend experienced health issues etc). We were a group of 5 travellers and they tried their best to provide the largest available rooms for us during our extension. They also gave very good food recommendations (these restaurants were clean and hygienic. The staff were nice and the food was delicious) A friend of ours injured (tipsy) himself from a fall in the hotel room late into the night. We informed them and they immediately helped us get taxi to the hospital and the husband even travelled to the hospital to help with us with communications with the local medical staff. When our friend came back to the hotel the wife even provided homemade food for him as he had no appetite. Would highly recommend this inn to all visitors to dali for a comfortable and wonderful stay. Actually, I really liked this hotel—the design, location, cleanliness, and the staff were all excellent. The location is very strategic, just a 500-meter walk to the Old Town. And we can rent a bike for strolling around Dali there. The staff were also very helpful; they even helped carry our luggage to our room on the third floor. For such an affordable price, this hotel exceeded my expectations—the room was also quite spacious. However, I was disappointed by the owner. She asked us to cancel our train tickets to Lijiang and take a bus instead, which she arranged. She said it was a premium bus and part of his business. But in reality, we were put on a regular public bus, which was not premium at all—the air conditioning didn’t work, and the ticket price had been marked up by nearly double. We also had to wait at a roadside bus stop crossing a busy main road with our luggage.

The rooms are lovely! The beds and comforters, the pillows are all so comfortable & clean :＞ Would definitely recommend! Lots of halal shops nearby as well, have pharmacy just 2 shops next to it too. The rooms are spacious, toiletries are provided, overall i enjoy the stay here that we decided to even extend to one more night. Love!

The experience of staying in this B&B was great. We traveled with a large family and booked a three-bedroom suite. The room was warm and comfortable, and the hygiene was very good. It was clean and tidy. As soon as you walked in, you would feel fresh and natural. There is a Hello electric car at the door. You can scan the code to travel. It is also equipped with a charging station. The boss's service attitude is super enthusiastic and any needs can be met in time. The overall cost performance is super high. I will choose this place next time and strongly recommend it to everyone.

Lady boss of the Inn was very nice. We asked for help to book rides to Lijiang and day trip to Shaxi and she was always helpful in arranging the rides, helping us to book and passing us the drivers’ contacts so we could arrange for pickup. She is very kind to go out of the way to help us. The location was great, very near the South Gate of the Ancient town. Lots of food options around. The inn was tucked away at a quiet corner which is great!

Great location just at the edge of Dali Ancient City. Lots of eateries and shopping right outside. Entrance to lobby at a side alley just off the main street. Look out for hotel sign in Chinese. Photos attached show the main street right near hotel. Self replenish toiletries and water bottles at the reception. Be prepared to walk up steps. Staff would help carry luggage up and down. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Five stars strongly recommend this treasure homestay in the ancient city! It is located in the center of the ancient city. Turn right when you go out and you will reach the popular snack street. Turn left to the most prosperous pedestrian street. It is super convenient to eat and play. The yard is kept fresh and tidy by the owner. It is good! The sheets and quilts in the room are white and neat, and even the corners are wiped clean. There is plenty of hot water. It is very comfortable to take a shower after a tiring day! The most heartwarming thing is the enthusiastic service of the boss. When he learned that we were foreign tourists, he gave us a lot of help, helped us wash and dry clothes, and generously gave two people a one-day tour around the sea! Prepare Chinese breakfast in different ways every day: nutritious porridge, homemade mixed vegetables, Chinese steamed dumplings, eggs, coffee... authentic and warm ~ taken care of in every possible way throughout the whole process! This trip to Dali became particularly memorable because of this homestay! I will definitely stay here next time I come, and I will recommend it to all foreign friends👍

I like the homestay very much. I stayed for two nights. I want to continue my stay. Unfortunately, there is no room. The room is large and the air conditioning is very powerful. It is exactly the same as the picture. There is a large floor-to-ceiling window. The sun is very comfortable. There is a washing machine on the first floor. It is very convenient to dry. When we arrived, the proprietress rode a tricycle to help us pull the box. Although it was not far from the roadside, the stone road in the village was still a bit expensive. It was much more convenient to have a tricycle... We wanted to go to Haidong to stroll around, and the proprietress also helped to contact the chartered car. It was very affordable and the driver and master were also very good. In the evening, I went to the hot pot restaurant recommended by the proprietress. It was delicious, very spicy and enjoyable! In general, this homestay is cost-effective, and the facilities and services are great. It is my first choice for coming to Dali next time!

Dali itself is very dry, and my skin is very sensitive, but the four-piece suit here is super comfortable to sleep. The room is spacious, especially the shower and bathroom are very large, the windows are also large, and you can see the mountain view. And another thing that needs to be greatly praised is that the boss is super kind and super nice. When I came, I walked outside to help carry the luggage and when I left, I sent it to the car. It was very hard to carry such a big box up and down. And it's not just for some people. I saw some guests come in with four or five people and many boxes and backpacks. The boss and his family came together to help with the luggage, which was very warm. And the boss's voice sounded like a very honest and kind person! Secondly, in terms of location, the homestay is at a corner of the commercial street. It takes about one minute to walk to the main street, but the advantage of turning in is that it avoids the noise on the main street. Many people who come to Dali may want to live in a room with Cangshan and Erhai Lake as the window. To be honest, I think the cost performance is not high, because you will find that you can see Cangshan and Erhai Lake wherever you go, eat a meal, drink a coffee, and all the walking routes are Cangshan and Erhai Lake. It is really unnecessary to spend a lot of money to live in such a house, which will be aesthetically fatigued. In short, it is a very cost-effective choice.
