"The location is fantastic, very close to where we got off the bus, and super convenient for shopping on Renmin Road. It's not noisy at night either. The front desk lady was incredibly kind and enthusiastic; she helped us with our luggage and even brought us delicious coffee and afternoon tea upon arrival. The rice noodles for breakfast were excellent. The smart appliances in the room were very convenient. It would be even better if there was a basket for used towels and dirty clothes. The rooftop terrace offers amazing views of Cangshan Mountain and the ancient city at night! If I come back, I'll definitely choose this place again!"

"Cleanliness is paramount, and it's my top criterion when choosing a hotel, so I was quite satisfied here. The hotel is within walking distance to Erhai Lake, which is convenient, but it's a bit further from the Old Town and some of the main Erhai attractions. However, it's easy to catch a taxi or rent an electric scooter right downstairs. When we checked in, the front desk attendant gave us flower cakes, which my partner enjoyed. Our requests were also promptly met. I really appreciate hotels that aren't intrusive but are quick to respond when you need something. I'd definitely book again on my next visit!"

Hotel staff was very proactive and helpful with our requests, even if they were not related to the stay - Loaned us a local phone number to rent the electric bikes, stayed online to help us scan the QR codes - Helped us book a car to the train station, assisted us with the luggage at 630am - Gave food recommendations - Staff was always easily contactable at any time of the day 2. Hotel room was beautiful and allowed in lots of natural light. Had a smart system to control the toilet, curtains 3. Would have preferred cloth towels to disposable towels :-) 4. Location is good for proximity to Erhai Lake, but take note that the route to the hotel by car is narrow and prone to jams especially around dinner time"

"Traveling with the whole family, we booked this hotel and the hot water came on very quickly. The environment was excellent, and the location is very close to Haigeng Avenue, just one or two kilometers to the water's edge. The owner was also very thoughtful, having printed out all the nearby attractions on A4 paper. The room was exceptionally clean, really great."

"This was our first time visiting Dali from Guangdong, and we did a lot of research before choosing this B&B – it was definitely the right choice! The surrounding scenery is absolutely beautiful, and our room was clean, tidy, spacious, and bright, with all the facilities being new and well-equipped. The bedding was especially comfortable to sleep on. When we first arrived, we felt a bit unwell due to the altitude sickness, but the owner and the front desk staff were incredibly warm and helpful, constantly checking in on us and assisting us – it was so heartwarming. The breakfast was a rich buffet, on par with a four-star hotel, with a great variety and delicious taste. Our entire experience was fantastic, and staying here in Dali was totally worth it. Highly recommended!"

Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the hotel's elegant courtyard, with its traditional grey bricks and black tiles, and deep, serene spaces – a perfect embodiment of Chinese aesthetic. During check-in, Jindi provided exceptional service. Not only did she upgrade us to a room with a better view at a fantastic price, but she also thoughtfully included a delicious breakfast. Our room was beautifully decorated and incredibly comfortable, with every detail speaking to its quality. What truly touched me was her patience in sharing several in-depth local travel routes, from hidden gems to unique culinary experiences, knowing we were first-time visitors. Her detailed explanations saved us a lot of hassle during our trip. From check-in to check-out, the service was consistently warm and attentive, making us feel right at home. Huajianfu offers not only stunning scenery but also such heartwarming service, making it undoubtedly the top choice for anyone staying in Dali. My sincere thanks to Jindi for her thoughtful care. "The room was quite spacious and clean, and they even provided complimentary fruit upon check-in. However, there was no suitable table, which made dining awkward, and no full-length mirror. I specifically booked a room with a balcony for relaxation, but because it was on the ground floor and facing a main road, it was incredibly noisy! After just one night, I seriously wanted to switch rooms. I couldn't even open the curtains because the view was ugly, just a bunch of parked electric scooters. I honestly don't understand the purpose of this room type. The breakfast wasn't good either... what a pain. All in all, if you're looking to relax at the hotel, this is a definite NO."

"Only getting around to writing this review after my trip, and Muqing was definitely the most satisfying hotel experience this time around! Even its name is poetic; 'Muqing' evokes the feeling of a sunset and also sounds like 'admiring you'. Rooms right by Erhai Lake often cost thousands, so this place is incredibly good value for money. You can lie in bed and watch the sea view. The staff, especially one guy, provided excellent service, giving us detailed tips on the easiest ways to get around. They also offer luggage transfer and electric cart service for getting around. The room decor and cleanliness were also top-notch. If I go back, I'll definitely stay here again!"

"Here's a detailed review of my stay: 1. **Location**: Excellent. It's a quiet haven within the bustling Dali Ancient City. 2. **Parking**: Very convenient for those driving. There's a parking lot accessible via a small convenience store entrance that leads to the main road. The front desk staff can guide you, making entry and exit easy. 3. **Breakfast**: As someone from the North, I appreciated the option of noodles (they had them!). The congee was delicious, and the rice noodles we tried were also very good. The front desk staff even made us coffee and tea (these drinks are complimentary and can be ordered at any time). 4. **Afternoon Tea**: The complimentary afternoon tea was tasty. 5. **Room**: Spacious, with both an inner courtyard and an outdoor balcony. 6. **Smart Features**: The room is fully smart-enabled, controlled by voice commands ('Xiao Du Xiao Du' – like an Alexa). 7. **Facilities**: Very comprehensive, on par with 4-star hotels and above. There's an automatic hot water dispenser with disposable paper cups that have an insulated, high-quality inner lining (and they use insert-style mineral water, so no hygiene worries). The shower and toilet facilities are excellent. A tip: the toilet is particularly child-friendly, slightly lower than standard, so adults should be mindful when sitting down. 8. **Toiletries**: The hotel provides a good range of toiletries, towels, and especially hair care products, which were very nice. 9. **Room Space**: The room is large, well-laid out, and the furniture is comfortable. I really liked the guesthouse's aesthetic. 10. **Bedding**: The pillows and duvets are comparable in quality to Atour Hotel's sleep series – very comfortable and not noisy at all (I'm using Atour as a reference for better understanding, not an advertisement!). 11. **No Elevator**: There's no elevator, as Dali Ancient City has height restrictions, so it's a three-story building (elevators aren't allowed). However, the front desk staff were incredibly helpful with luggage. The stairs are made of a soft material, which is great for children as it prevents serious bumps if they trip. 12. **Rooftop Terrace**: The rooftop has large sofas for stargazing, a barbecue area with equipment, and offers close-up views of Cangshan mountain – perfect for relaxing, especially at sunset. 13. **Service**: Outstanding! When we arrived from Shuanglang Ancient Town, we took a car to the North Gate. Two front desk staff members came to pick us up in separate electric scooters, so we didn't have to drag our luggage. My friend and I rode one, and the staff member thoughtfully helped us with our bags. 14. **Complimentary Electric Scooter**: The front desk provided a complimentary electric scooter. They charged it the night before and left the keys for us. We rode it to Longkan Wharf to watch the sunrise (A word of caution: there's a large rock near the wharf that tourists can go down to, but I don't recommend it. It's slippery with moss, and a tourist slipped and fell in today, getting soaked. Luckily, others helped, and they were fine). 15. **Departure Service**: When we left, a front desk staff member drove us to the alley entrance in a sightseeing cart and courteously let our car go first. His kindness deserves a special mention. 16. **Breakfast Service**: The breakfast auntie was proactive and warm. She offered us a bowl of congee to try first, explaining that if we liked it, she would provide more, which helps reduce food waste. Thumbs up! **Summary**: This guesthouse is definitely worth revisiting. It's incredibly thoughtful, and the stay experience was excellent. **Bonus Tip**: It's about a 10-minute scooter ride from the hotel to Nancai Village, which is a beautiful place well worth a visit!"
