Hotels in Erhai Park, Dali City

We had a bit of a disappointing experience at the Jiatu Scenic Hotel. The room listing states ‘lake view’ so we booked that room, however, it turns out that this room does not face the lake and has an internal car par window instead. The listing photos conveniently have the net curtains of the windows drawn so you can’t see this from the inside photos. The receptionist insisted the Trip.com listing was accurate because the hotel was near the lake and therefore a ‘lake view’. They would not change us to a room with the lake view that we believed we booked, despite having multiple lake-view rooms available and us checking in at 10.30pm. They insisted the only way we could change the room was to cancel our booking (and incur a 50% cancellation fee) and rebook the more expensive ‘sea-view’ room instead. We contacted Trip.com who spoke to the hotel also but they were unwilling to help or move us, despite the room not matching the listing description. Trip themselves were very helpful and offered us some compensation. In the end we stayed in the room we’d booked with no lake view. The room itself was lovely and spacious, had storage options and was clean and tidy. If we’d booked knowing this didn’t have a lake view then it would have been perfect! The location is near the station which is great if you’re there for one night, however we were there for 2 nights and had to travel 40 minutes to get to Dali Old Town or the 28 bends ecological corridor, so personally if I were to come to Dali again I would choose a hotel in that location instead. It is worth noting that the hotel is across the road from the lake, so you can see cars and the road even in the lakeside view rooms.

Falling into a dreamy blue embrace by Erhai Lake. They say Dali's romance lies between the mountains and the sea, but Fengyouyuan • Luyu Shiguang Seaview Homestay has brought that romance right into the rooms. Located in Erhai Tianyu, Xiaguan, Dali, it offers unparalleled sea views and a strong sense of design. The selection of amenities is thoughtful, and the service is excellent. The owner even gave us a souvenir when we left. As dusk fell, I soaked in the hotel's bathtub, a sweet, slightly intoxicating wine by my side, and the gentle shimmer of Erhai Lake before my eyes. The sky gradually painted itself, from pale blue to Klein blue, as if God had spilled his palette. The bubbles in my sparkling wine gently burst, subtly merging with the ripples of Erhai Lake. In this moment, time seemed to slow down, and all I wanted was to forever be immersed in this blue romance.

For the latter half of our trip to Dali, we chose Xiaguan. After looking at many hotels, we finally decided on the Hilton Garden Inn, mainly because it's new and very close to Xingsheng Bridge, which was incredibly convenient! Fanny at the front desk was truly outstanding. When we arrived, we realized that even though we'd booked through Ctrip, the hotel's system hadn't registered our reservation. She went above and beyond, helping us process the booking on the spot and even upgraded us to a mountain view room! *Tip: The mountain view rooms face the road, so if you're sensitive to car horns, I'd recommend opting for a garden view room instead.* The hotel's location in Xiaguan is excellent. Xingsheng Bridge, just across the way, offers plenty of great food options, and a pleasant 10-15 minute walk leads to Erhai Park with beautiful scenery. The front desk also provides complimentary coffee and tea, which was a nice touch for grabbing a cup before heading out each day. When we checked out, Fanny surprised us with two Dali refrigerator magnets – such a thoughtful gesture! I absolutely loved Dali!

We chose this hotel after seeing photos of the amazing views from its rooms - and we were not disappointed. The hotel is located in a high rise residential apartment complex, and situated in between the east and west banks of Erhai lake. You could see both banks clearly from the balcony, with Cangshan serving as the backdrop. Service was personal and wonderful too. We had our rooms upgraded for free to a bigger one, and the staff gave many useful recommendations of local restaurants, attractions and bike rental - very very handy for cycling Erhai lake (the bike shop she recommended was professional and provided high quality bikes which enabled us to go halfway around the lake, and could be returned at a different location). She also made us tea personally upon request, and offered to teach us teamaking. Overall, a very pleasant stay with nothing to complain about. Will recommend this hotel to fellow travellers who are looking to stay in a less touristy part of Dali, away from the ancient town area, with amazing views from the hotel itself.

The location is superb, just a 5-minute walk from Dali Port. The views are incredible, with the lake-view rooms overlooking Erhai Lake. The front desk staff were excellent – very patient, attentive to my questions, and quick to respond. Facilities: The room was well-equipped with amenities like a mini-fridge, coffee machine, water heater, safe, bathtub, and shower. Cleanliness: Clean and tidy. Environment: The location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from Dali Port. The scenery is amazing, with lake-view rooms overlooking Erhai Lake. Service: The front desk staff were very friendly and patient, listened carefully to my questions, and answered quickly.

Traveling with friends, I found this hotel very comfortable. It offers a stunning, open view of Erhai Lake, and simply relaxing on the balcony and enjoying the scenery was a real treat. The room was spacious and, best of all, had two bathrooms, so no fighting over the toilet! The place was clean, and the staff even recommended a trip to Yunxiang Mountain, which was great. Everything was just perfect.

Our family of three visited Dali, and we walked to the hotel from Dali Station in the morning – it was very close and convenient. Since our reserved room wasn't ready, they upgraded us to a city-view room. The front desk service was excellent. The breakfast was decent and enough to fill us up. They even helped us refrigerate our milk and heat it up later, so kudos to the front desk service again. It was quiet at night, and getting a taxi was easy. There were also plenty of dining options nearby. The cleanliness was good, and the room service auntie was very friendly.

This hotel provided an excellent stay, and I just had to write a positive review! It's a new hotel, but there was no strange smell, and all the facilities are brand new. The lobby is spacious with plenty of seating in the lounge area, and they even offer self-service coffee. They also provide power banks, and you can even return ones borrowed from outside, which is super convenient. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful; since we were visiting Dali, they enthusiastically gave us tips on how to best explore the area. Our room was clean and tidy, and the bathroom had a great wet/dry separation. When we checked out, we accidentally left something behind, and the front desk staff proactively reminded us and even mailed it back to us. Fantastic service all around!

The hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient for getting around, shopping, and dining. The front desk staff processed check-in quickly and were incredibly helpful. Our room was brightly lit and spotlessly clean, with a dry and odor-free bathroom. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and soft, ensuring a great night's sleep. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and I'm very satisfied! I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. The environment is elegant and clean, and the staff are attentive and enthusiastic, with thoughtful details everywhere. The facilities are new and complete, the hot water is consistent, and the lighting creates a cozy atmosphere. It's perfect whether you're traveling for leisure or business, and the value for money is outstanding. I've saved it to my favorites and will definitely be back.

We just left, and we already want to go back and stay at this hotel again. The moment you step into the room, you'll be captivated by the balcony – it's huge, facing the blue sky and Erhai Lake. Sitting out there, feeling the breeze from the lake, life couldn't be more pleasant. The room is very spacious, and the soundproofing is excellent, making it much quieter than staying in the old town or an ancient village. Taxis and food delivery are also very convenient. The hotel even offers laundry and drying services, and you can even do karaoke! It's an all-in-one hotel. The owner made us feel right at home, and our whole family agreed that if we ever come back to Dali, we'll definitely stay here again.
