"We stayed for 2 nights. The service was excellent, and the place was very clean. Its location near the South Gate made exploring the ancient city incredibly convenient, and they offer self-service laundry and drying facilities. For breakfast, you could order main dishes à la carte, with delicious options like wontons, Er Si noodles, and rice noodles. The afternoon tea and complimentary evening wellness soup included in our booking were also a nice touch. It's a pity it rained throughout our stay in Dali, as we hardly got to enjoy the rooftop terrace."

GGuest UserAn excellent stay. The hotel is conveniently located near the old town, offering a peaceful oasis amidst the bustle. While the room was a bit on the smaller side, it was fully equipped with all the necessary amenities. The shower had excellent water pressure and a consistent, comfortable temperature, and both the bath towels and bedding were wonderfully soft and comfortable. A generous and delicious breakfast was served daily, along with complimentary afternoon tea. As a thoughtful gesture, the staff even prepared a box of pastries for us to enjoy on our journey when we checked out. Our children loved their stay so much they didn't want to leave! We'll definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit.

XXueyingqingfengI absolutely adored this guesthouse; it truly exudes a wonderful Mediterranean vibe! The amenities are, of course, excellent, but what truly sets it apart is their incredibly thoughtful and attentive service. They offer daily complimentary afternoon tea, a complimentary late-night sweet soup, and on-demand butler-style service, which made us truly feel at home. The in-room toiletries are herbal essential oil products, and the mini-bar was always fully stocked with thoughtfully prepared water, beverages, and snacks. It was so comfortable that we ended up not leaving the guesthouse for two days, simply lounging and unwinding! Utterly comfortable! Highly recommended!

MM57615****Service: I absolutely loved the service here; it was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. It truly stands apart from the standardized, impersonal service often found in chain hotels. Everything was meticulously arranged, from station pick-up and airport drop-off to bedtime milk and arranging transport for our outings. The breakfast was also very generous, with different options each day over three days, and even the kids loved it. As a lovely touch, they even gave us local flower cakes as a farewell gift when we left.
Environment: It's perfect for families with children. There's a ball pit and three adorable little rabbits, which our little ones absolutely adored. The garden is beautifully decorated with many succulents.
Facilities: The family-friendly amenities are comprehensive. They provide bed rails and children's toiletries. They even thoughtfully covered all sharp corners with anti-collision padding, which was a huge plus for safety. Overall, it's an ideal hotel for families.

MM232014****It's super convenient if you're driving, and they offer free parking. Our butler picked us up on an electric scooter, and when we checked out, they even helped transport our luggage back to the parking lot. The breakfast, afternoon tea, and complimentary evening sweet soup were all excellent. They also offer laundry service. We mentioned we were going to watch the sunrise the next morning, and when they delivered our neatly folded clean laundry, they also included breakfast bags – such a thoughtful touch! The common areas are beautiful. Sitting in the little garden, enjoying afternoon tea, truly feels like a seaside retreat. And I must mention the complimentary travel photoshoot! They have a great selection of beautiful dresses to choose from, and the photos turned out absolutely stunning!

AAnonymous User1. **Check-in Area:** The check-in counter, or front desk, was quite shabby. The computer keyboard was practically caked in grime, and don't even get me started on the sofa next to it – it looked very unhygienic.
2. **Dining:** The breakfast area was a bit cramped, with just four small tables by the street. If you're a party of more than two, you'd have to sit separately, or you might even have to stand and wait for a table. The coffee, however, was good. I only had breakfast once: a cold quinoa salad (see Photo 6) served with bread that had an overpowering artificial creamer flavor. I had been looking forward to the rice noodles for the next day, but serving didn't start until 8:30 AM, which was far too late for my rumbling stomach. Early risers and those who prefer hot meals should seriously consider other options or make alternative arrangements.
3. **Room (2nd floor) - Noise Issues:** Don't even think about getting any sleep at night. After 11 PM, there was still noise along the street, along with the clanging of the garbage truck. (Seriously, I'd strongly advise against staying in the Old Town.) The next day, it started pouring before dawn, and the sound of the heavy rain kept me awake as well.
4. **Room - Facility Issues:** The room I stayed in was supposedly the quietest in the entire hotel. It featured a large bathtub and a bathroom where the toilet and shower area lacked wet/dry separation. Unable to deal with the wet floor, I decided to shower in the bathtub. That's when I discovered Problem #1: the glass partition was completely transparent, with no curtain or frosted glass. The staff member claimed this was 'design.' Then came Fatal Problem #2: the bathtub had no running water, haha! 😄
5. **Room - Odor Issues:** Upon entering, there was a strong musty smell. The staff claimed it was due to 'raw wood,' but it's been 8 years and it still smells like that? Quite amusing.
6. **Staff (Pre-Check-in):** Before I even checked in, they asked me to cancel my booking on the platform and pay them privately for a discounted rate. I have this in writing. This is definitely a huge red flag, and I'm surprised they even dared to suggest it.
7. **Staff (General):** The individuals themselves were nice enough, but I was surprised to find that all the 'Jixiashan' staff were quite young, without uniforms, and seemingly without direct supervision, which gave a very disorganized and casual impression.
8. **Housekeeping:** I was quite satisfied with the housekeeping. Seeing the clean duvet and towels gave me peace of mind (P.S. the pillows were also comfortable). The hotel's facilities are very old; no matter how clean the bathroom tiles were, they still looked run-down, compounded by the dim lighting. Therefore, I feel the housekeeping staff here really have a tough job.
9. **Building Structure:** One morning, during a heavy downpour, when I opened my 2nd-floor room door, the entrance was essentially flooded up to my heels. It was quite a feat that the water didn't spread into the room. At night, there were no lights, so I had to grope my way back to the room along the dark corridor. It would be quite difficult for someone who doesn't remember their way (see Photos 1-2).
10. **Hotel Amenities:** One night, I heard the guest next door return, unable to open their door with the key, and had to call a staff member for help. They chatted for a bit outside the door before the staff member finally told the guest a 'trick': 'The key needs to be inserted a certain way, and the lock has a particular mechanism...' That's quite a struggle – needing a special technique just to get back to your room!
11. **Minor Details:** The room key had a very large, bulky leather tag attached to it. Absolutely no consideration for travelers on long journeys with limited luggage space. Who would want to carry such a bulky thing around?
I originally had high hopes for the 'Jixiashan' brand. When I was in Shangri-La, I heard their Meili store had a collaboration with Kolon, which made me think they had good taste. This Dali Ancient City location is their first store, but it turned out to be such a low standard. Given the daily rate, I guess I understand why. This particular store cannot be found on 'Jixiashan's' mini-program; it's categorized under 'Wang Shenme Chuan Qu Le'.

2203835****The hotel is conveniently located next to Dali University, right by the Yueshanhai Villa complex. It boasts a lovely environment, nestled against Cangshan Mountain and overlooking Erhai Lake, offering a very peaceful atmosphere. Building 1 features an underground parking garage and a book bar. Guests can enjoy the sunrise from the hotel's rooftop, and the common areas are quite spacious.
The dual sinks in the bathroom were a convenient touch. However, the shower and toilet areas are only semi-partitioned, which meant a lot of water splashed onto the floor after showering. Furthermore, the showerhead was loose and unstable.
The breakfast variety wasn't vast, but it covered the basics. We stayed two nights, and on our second morning, when we went for breakfast a bit later, it was very crowded and noisy. Many dishes had run out and were not replenished in a timely manner. The coffee machine also seemed to be frequently out of order.
I recommend the hotel improve its facility maintenance.

The hotel is just across the street from Erhai Lake. While not directly waterfront, the lobby and public areas are cleverly designed to leverage the elevation difference, framing the views of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, showcasing a great design aesthetic.
Though not huge, the lobby is thoughtfully designed to create beautiful visual highlights. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring the stunning scenery indoors, making Erhai Lake a dynamic backdrop. The sofa area, with its low-saturation color palette and tie-dye elements, is both comfortable and photogenic. Sitting in the lobby and gazing at Erhai Lake is simply delightful.👀
The gym and swimming pool on the 11th floor offer excellent views from their viewing platform, but the pool is only 1.2 meters deep, which is too shallow for adults.🫣
🍜 Breakfast Highlights
It gets busy, but staff are on hand to guide guests to their seats. The food offers a delightful blend of Chinese and Western cuisine, with some fantastic Yunnan local specialties. I highly recommend the Weishan Pa Rou Er Si (rice noodles with tender pork hock in rich broth) – the portion is substantial, almost like a main meal, and the taste is excellent!👍
Other local delights include freshly baked Rubing (Dali cheese), Xizhou Baba (a savory flatbread), and Xi Dou Fen (savory bean jelly soup). The Western pastry section has a good variety of breads; the croissants🥐 are particularly recommended!👍
Tip: Try to be seated before 8 AM to snag one of the window-side 'lake view' tables all to yourself.
🛎 Service Attitude
From the concierge to the restaurant staff, everyone offered smiling service throughout our stay, which made for a very pleasant experience. They proactively helped with luggage upon arrival and departure and always greeted us warmly.
🛏 Room Experience
The standard room type was decent and functional. The bathroom features a well-designed wet and dry separation. The minibar is complimentary, stocked with items like Feng Hua Xue Yue beer. As it's a high-altitude region, the room can be dry, which might be uncomfortable for allergy sufferers at first. The front desk kindly provided a humidifier, which was a thoughtful touch.🥰
The hotel offers a range of activities during the summer, which is a nice bonus.👍
🤔 Small Suggestions
Since the hotel is situated right next to a main road, lower-floor rooms facing the street might experience occasional traffic noise at night, which could bother light sleepers.
‼️ There's no traffic light at the pedestrian crossing directly in front of the hotel entrance facing Erhai Lake, making crossing the road feel quite nerve-wracking every time. It would be great if they could arrange a traffic warden or crossing guard there.

GGuest UserClouds Villa is absolutely incredible. After staying in the heart of Lijiang’s Ancient City, it was refreshing to be up in the mountains here—peaceful, scenic, and really fresh air—but still only about a 10-minute Didi ride into Dali Ancient Town when we wanted cobbled streets, fried cheese, rose cakes, and all the amazing food.
We came here for our honeymoon and booked a hot spring villa, and to our surprise, we were upgraded to an even larger villa. The staff also surprised us with a bottle of red wine and a delicious cream cake—a really thoughtful touch that made our stay feel special.
The hot spring itself was perfect. After a day of walking the Ancient City or biking around Erhai Lake, relaxing in the steaming water was heavenly. The villa’s private yard was beautifully designed and made for the perfect chill spot. The whole resort is landscaped with care—gardens, ponds, and mountain views everywhere you turn.
The breakfast buffet was delicious and varied—plenty of choices to start the day right. It was all so nice that we extended our stay by a couple of days because we just didn’t want to leave.
Another highlight is the location right next to the Chongsheng Temple complex. The temples are stunning and absolutely worth a visit, and at night you can even hear the bells ringing, which adds a magical vibe to the stay.
All in all, Clouds Villa was everything we could have hoped for and more. I honestly wish I could live there forever.
