"Staying at Honglin Pavilion Inn in Dali was an absolute gem! The facilities and amenities were top-notch, far exceeding my expectations, and truly enhanced my trip. The inn's location is incredibly convenient. Step right out into the ancient city's streets, and a stroll to Erhai Lake is just a few minutes away. Walking into the courtyard was a breathtaking experience; it's designed in a classical Chinese garden style, with rockeries and flowing water complemented by vintage lanterns. The common areas feature incredibly comfortable rattan chairs and tea sets, and they even provide complimentary tea and utensils. In my free time, I'd brew a pot of tea and enjoy the scenery – it was so relaxing I didn't want to leave. All in all, the stay brought immense happiness. Next time I'm in Dali, I'll definitely choose this place again!"

"This is genuinely a spacious, single-floor apartment with a prime river view. The only minor drawback is the slightly higher price during peak season. However, since the entire unit can accommodate up to 6 people, it offers excellent value for group trips. I would absolutely choose to stay here again if the opportunity arises."

"We stayed at this property for one night. It is located in the city centre and directly faces Erhai Lake, offering a stunning view. We booked a sea-view room, and the scenery was truly amazing. The booking included breakfast and a complimentary drop-off at the train station. The host welcomed us very warmly. When she learned that we would be leaving early the next morning, she kindly arranged for an earlier breakfast and organised the free drop-off using a new Toyota MPV. The host also recommended several nearby places to visit. We followed her suggestions and had a wonderful time. "Highly recommended, a perfect score! The ambiance of this hotel in Dali is absolutely stunning! The luckiest thing about my trip to Dali was choosing the right hotel! As soon as I arrived at the entrance, I was captivated by the lush greenery. The courtyard is filled with succulents and local plants, with traditional Bai-style architecture interspersed throughout. Every casual photo turns out to be a stunning, atmospheric shot, so there's no need to specially seek out scenic spots for photos. The room offers amazing views; opening the window reveals the silhouette of Cangshan Mountain. I woke up to bird songs in the morning and enjoyed a sky full of stars at night – it was so tranquil and healing. The interior decor is minimalist yet tasteful, and the cleanliness was exceptional. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and combined with the gentle lighting, it instantly melted away all travel fatigue. The public areas are also a big plus: a lounge area surrounded by greenery, clean and tidy corridors, and even fresh flowers placed in the elevator area. You can feel the thoughtfulness everywhere. The hotel's overall environment is quiet and not noisy, allowing you to enjoy the fresh air of nature while having a private and comfortable stay. Staying here in Dali was truly worth it! I've already recommended it to friends, and I'll choose it again next time I visit."

"The hotel is conveniently located near Dongmen, surrounded by a plethora of fantastic food options, and you can even enjoy a drink at a bar in the evenings. The facilities are comprehensive, the hygiene is impeccable, and the environment is beautiful. The service from the staff, especially the ladies, was exceptional—they were incredibly warm and welcoming. I'll definitely stay here again next time!"

"Before coming to Dali, I spent a lot of time comparing hotels and finally chose Pullman, opting against a B&B. It turned out to be a wise decision. I was traveling with my parents, and all of us were very satisfied. The front desk staff had an amazing attitude and proactively upgraded us to an executive floor. The concierge was enthusiastic and professional. We had a lot of luggage, and they handled everything for us. Our butler, Mary, was incredibly attentive, from recommending various itineraries and providing a hand-drawn hotel map to suggesting local delicacies and sending thoughtful daily greetings. She was both professional and warm. The hotel gym isn't huge but is very well-equipped. The breakfast was also delicious, with Dali specialties like Ersi (rice noodles), roasted Erkuai (rice cake), and Xidoufen (pea flour soup), all tasting great. Here's a small detail: I left my room card on the dining table. Before I even reached the elevator and realized my mistake, a kind lady from the restaurant came running to bring it to me. To sum up, among all the hotels I've experienced during my self-driving trip in Yunnan, I feel the Pullman staff have the best service attitude. From the front desk, concierge, and butler to the restaurant staff and even the cleaning crew, everyone was smiling and thoughtful towards guests. A huge thumbs-up! I hope you continue to maintain such high standards of service!"

So I chose the Zhongli Qianxun Courtyard Hotel (Dali Ancient City South Gate Branch) – and the result was even better than expected: it's not one of those B&Bs that 'looks good in photos but is just ordinary to stay in,' but rather a place where every detail, from day to night, from the courtyard to the rooms, makes you want to slow down. 🏯 Courtyard: The gentle charm of the ancient city at a glance The hotel features a typical Chinese quadrangle courtyard structure, with grey tiles, wooden corridors, and carved windows. Walking along the verandas, you can't help but slow your pace. During the day, the light falls on the wood, casting a warm glow; looking down from above, the courtyard is enclosed in a quiet embrace, almost like switching from 'travel rush mode' to 'living mode.' Even more surprising – you can see the outline of the mountains in the distance. As dusk falls, the sky gradually turns blue-grey, and the mountain ridges appear like silhouettes. In that moment, you suddenly understand: the beauty of Dali isn't about hustle and bustle, it's about tranquility. 🐟 Waterside Fish Pond: Koi + Lotus Leaves + Reflections, truly photo-worthy The pond in the center of the courtyard is a huge bonus: lotus leaves float on the water, koi swim to and fro, and the water acts like a mirror, reflecting the eaves, lanterns, and verandas. My favorite way to shoot is with a low camera angle near the water – the reflections are absolutely stunning, especially after the lights come on at night, it's as if another world appears in the water. 🏮 Nighttime Ambiance: When the lights come on, the courtyard 'glows' At night, as the lanterns light up one by one, the entire atmosphere of the space completely transforms: During the day, it's elegant; at night, it's gentle with a touch of luxury. Sitting by the courtyard, listening to the sound of water, and watching the reflections, time seems to slow down immensely – that feeling of 'truly starting to relax on a trip' happens in this very moment. 🎁 Welcome Perks: Free afternoon tea + Free traditional costume experience (so much fun) Two additional 'enjoy-upon-check-in' perks make me want to recommend this place even more: 🍵 Free Afternoon Tea for Two (by the pond/waterside) Available once during your stay, from 13:30 to 18:00. The afternoon tea includes Dali aged tea and Dali's distinctive preserved plums (which I found very local). Sipping tea by the water is perfect for slowly letting go of the day's fatigue. 👘 Free Traditional Costume Experience: Full range of ancient/ethnic attire There’s a whole rack of clothes to choose from, enough to make your head spin. If you love taking photos, this experience is truly fantastic – shooting amidst the wooden corridors, carved doors and windows, and the lantern-lit night creates an incredible atmosphere. 🛏 Room Experience: Warm wooden space, comfortable stay The rooms are predominantly wood-toned, with warm lighting, making them very relaxing to be in. The bedding is clean, and the space feels unconfined. The worst part of traveling is when 'the outside is beautiful, but the room is hard to sleep in,' but that's not the case here. 🚿 I'm also satisfied with the bathroom: it’s generally clean and comfortable, the ceramic basin sink has a great texture, and the shower area is spacious enough, ensuring a worry-free stay."

"The hotel location is quite strategic, can walk around 10 minutes to ancient town and 15 minutes to erhai lake. This hotel doesn't have any lift, but the host is so kind with our luggage and help us to carry it safely to our room located at the 1st floor. Room is provided with basic amenities, and it is spacious for our 3 days 2 nights stay. We want to thank to them cause they even help us to arrange transport for our early morning checkout to the railway station. They even recommend good halal eateries for us. Will definitely come back 🥰🥰"

"I was looking for a place close to the three pagodas, and still in the ancient town of Dali. This place is only 800 meters or so away from Chongsheng Temple and the three pagodas sites. Lots of restaurants and shops around. As soon as I arrived, the owner upgraded my room. He speaks very good English. He is a very friendly person. In the morning, he recommended a few places to visit.i have extended my stay one more night. The place is very clean and up on the roof level you see the tallest pagoda and rhe beautiful mountains, Erhai lake. It is a wonderful place to stay and I can recommend it. I'd stay here again."

"The location is super convenient. Turn left out of the hotel and go up the stairs, and you're at the South Gate of the Old Town. Turn right, and you're on a main road where you can easily catch a taxi. If you're driving, the hotel can help with parking. The front desk is staffed 24 hours, so you can always ask for assistance. Upon arrival, the hotel also provides a series of travel and food recommendations, which is very thoughtful. There's a Garfield cat in the lobby, so if you don't feel like going out, you can just hang out in the courtyard and pet the cat. The garden on the third floor is full of succulents, and you can enjoy distant views of Cangshan Mountain, perfect for a sunny afternoon. Overall, I highly recommend this place and will definitely tell my friends about it. I'll definitely stay for more days next time if I have the chance! 😁😁😁"
