Guest UserThe first hotel on our Yunnan trip was absolutely fantastic! The moment we stepped into the courtyard, we were instantly charmed by the beautiful flowers and plants, and seeing the adorable cats and dogs just lifted our spirits.
The room was very clean, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, which is one of my must-haves when choosing accommodation. The bedding was super comfortable, and the bed was great for sleeping. They even had a direct drinking water dispenser in the room, which felt much safer than an electric kettle.
The guesthouse is just over a ten-minute walk to the South Gate of the ancient town. The walk back takes a few minutes longer because there's an uphill slope right before you reach the guesthouse, but if you rent a scooter, it's no problem at all. They even thoughtfully provided a foot bath tub in the room – soaking my feet after a long day was so relaxing.
The staff at the guesthouse were all young men, and they were warm and welcoming without being intrusive.
If I come back to Dali, I'll definitely choose this guesthouse again.

xuzhenliuThe room facilities are complete, with great attention to detail, and all the amenities are from good brands. The breakfast is rich and varied every day. The service is incredibly warm and attentive, and the airport shuttle service is also excellent. It would be even more perfect if there were dedicated non-smoking cars (no smoke smell in the car + driver doesn't smoke). I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.

We stayed with Sister An at Dali Old City Sushe Boutique Inn for 4 nights. Her comfortable inn offered a fantastic mix of home and resort, providing a relaxing retreat after the busyness and urbanity of Kunming. Our 6-year-old daughter absolutely loved the property. The fish in the central pool, the cozy coffee shop lobby, the swinging pavilion across the glass bridge, and the upstairs mountain view deck kept her thoroughly entertained. Sister An’s inn was just perfect. Every morning started with a wonderful breakfast of eggs, tea eggs, free-flow coffee and tea, a variety of buns, millet porridge, and pickles. Furthermore, Sister An provided timely advice on transport, sightseeing, and local holidays. From the moment we booked a few days before our arrival, Sister An maintained constant communication via WeChat and a translation app to coordinate our arrival time. She even sent a complimentary driver to pick us up at the train station, which sat about a 30-minute drive from the hotel's central location in Dali Old Town. She also responded within minutes whenever we had a question throughout our stay. She is the true gem of this hotel.
Some highlights of our stay included:
The Public Areas: Excellent spaces, including the upstairs view decks.
Convenient Amenities: Free washing facilities (essential for our month-long voyage with a party of four), a microwave, a mini-fridge, and ample closet space.
The Suite Layout: The divided rooms gave our brother his own private space, complete with a sliding glass door, desk, and privacy curtain.
The Bathroom: A powerful, beautifully hot shower with both handheld and rain options.
Location & Value: An economical price for a very central location close to all the sights and restaurants of Dali Ancient Town.
Bonus: Sister An whips up a very delicious latte!
Because we ran out of time to do everything we wanted in Dali, we will definitely be back—and we will absolutely stay at this hotel again!

YoYo_5566Extremely, extremely satisfied! So much so that I extended my stay for a few more days in the same room! The view is absolutely amazing! Both the balcony and the master bedroom offer breathtaking sea views, and the clouds change every day, which is incredibly relaxing to watch. Breakfast is a buffet on the top floor; the selection isn't huge, but there's a good variety within each category, and it all tastes great! The room is fully equipped, meticulously clean, and full of thoughtful details! When I arrived, they picked me up from the train station, and hotel staff were already waiting in the basement. Besides breakfast, they also offer afternoon tea and fruit daily. If you miss breakfast (which goes until noon) and get hungry, you can tell the staff, and they'll bring noodles or rice vermicelli to your room. The service is incredibly attentive, and the staff are always ready to help. Highly recommend!

Guest UserThey say that in an unfamiliar city, the first place you encounter is the hotel or guesthouse, making it your first impression of the city. My stay here was a delightful surprise, far exceeding my expectations. We only spent half an hour choosing this hotel. Its location is excellent, making travel convenient, and the surrounding area is quiet and clean. Bright and airy, there's no noisy or bustling atmosphere at all, making it perfect for relaxation and short-term stays. I've personally thought about living here long-term multiple times, simply because the environment is so beautiful. The rooms are spacious and bright. The front desk staff here are warm and attentive; they helped with luggage and showed me to my room right away. Check-in and check-out were efficient and fast, and their attitude was gentle and patient. Any questions I had were answered promptly and thoroughly, with truly heartwarming attention to detail. They even provided a local guide with recommendations for delicious restaurants! I will definitely choose this place again on my next visit.
The room was clean and airy overall, with excellent ventilation and natural light, and the hygiene was impeccable. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the pillows and mattress were just the right firmness. I could relax quickly and completely unwind from travel fatigue the moment I lay down. The bathroom had a wet/dry separation, toiletries were clean and well-stocked, and the hot water was stable and plentiful. The room facilities were new and in perfect condition, with soft lighting and a logical layout, full of thoughtful details that created a wonderful living atmosphere.
The hotel's common areas were clean and elegant, the corridors were spotless and odor-free, and the overall environment was tranquil and comfortable. The value for money is exceptional, making it ideal for both solo travelers and short-term stays. My entire stay was comfortable, peaceful, and pleasant, with absolutely nothing to complain about. With attentive service, a high-quality environment, and excellent hygiene, this is a top-notch hotel that I would repeatedly choose and sincerely recommend. It will be my first choice for future trips!

Jesmine ChuaWe absolutely loved our stay at Shanyuyishe Boutique B&B in Dali Ancient City.
The location was perfect for us — tucked away in a peaceful corner near Dali Ancient City, yet only a short walk to the shops, cafés, and attractions.
What truly made the stay special was the hospitality. The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, helping us with our luggage, preparing breakfast every morning, and always making sure we were comfortable. The breakfast was simple but delicious, especially the rice noodles, which we looked forward to each morning.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We especially loved the beautiful courtyard and the overall peaceful atmosphere.
A couple of things to note for families and travellers with larger luggage. The beautiful courtyard has a koi pond running through parts of it, which adds to the charm, but I was constantly keeping an eye on my kids as I was worried they might accidentally fall in. Thankfully, nothing happened, but it’s something parents with young children may want to be aware of.
Another consideration is luggage. Vehicles can stop near the property, but you’ll still need to carry your luggage across parts of the courtyard. If you’re staying on Levels 2 or 3, there is no lift, so luggage has to be carried up manually. The owner was kind enough to help us, but it’s still worth considering if you’re travelling with multiple large suitcases.
For our family room, one small downside was that although the room was very spacious, there was only one air-conditioner serving the entire unit. The smaller bedroom felt a little stuffy and warm at night. That said, the owner was very responsive and quickly provided us with a fan the next day, which made a huge difference and solved the issue for us.
Overall, the warmth of the host, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, and peaceful setting far outweighed these minor inconveniences. We’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy and authentic stay in Dali. ❤️🏔️✨

The moment I opened the door, I was instantly wowed. The view of Erhai Lake from the room is absolutely spectacular — photos can only capture about 70% of its beauty. In person, it's a hundred times more stunning.
.
The room is extremely comfortable, with a well-designed bathroom layout featuring separate areas for the toilet, shower, and vanity, plus a beautiful soaking tub. Every amenity in the room is perfect and of very high quality — especially the toilet, which comes with both a bidet spray and a fully automatic function.
.
The bed is incredibly soft. After a full day of sightseeing on foot, I slept like a log — and a relaxing warm soak beforehand made it even better.
.
Upon arrival, afternoon tea and snacks were served, which was such a lovely way to unwind after the journey. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful in every way.
.
Breakfast includes noodle soup and congee, along with fruit, hot dogs, and yogurt.
.
The hotel also offers airport and train station transfers, which is very convenient.
.
The location is not far from attractions such as Santorini and other nearby sights.
.
For getting around Erhai Lake, renting a car to explore at your own pace is the most efficient option. If you don't have a rental, you can use Didi (ride-hailing) or take the sightseeing bus — though with the bus, you can only board and alight at designated stops.
.
One more tip: Didi is available around Erhai Lake until quite late at night and can drop you right at the hotel, so don't worry if you want to stay out a little longer before heading back.

Returning to Dali from Jizu Mountain, I temporarily chose to stay at Jinsuo Island. I have been to Dali many times, and this is my first time on the island. This hotel is indeed the most satisfactory one. The room has an unbeatable sea view. You can see the sea and the sunrise while lying on the bed. The facilities are very smart and the hygiene is also very clean. Super cost-effective!
The breakfast in the sea view restaurant is also a little surprise.

Nestled in Shuanglang Ancient Town beside Erhai Lake, this beautiful hotel's location was a pleasant surprise. Situated on Yuji Island, you can enjoy the shimmering waters of Erhai Lake from a lounge chair on the terrace – a tranquil oasis right at your doorstep. The owner was incredibly welcoming and hospitable, and the hotel is filled with thoughtfully designed gardens and charming details, including a rooftop terrace perfect for photos! Beautiful scenery, the vibrant colors of Yunnan! Thank you to the butler for the attentive service! This is my first review on Ctrip, and I genuinely think this hotel is excellent! While my experience exploring Dali Ancient City was rather lukewarm, this hotel left a lasting impression.

XiaoxiaoyudianThis hotel is located in Wase Town, conveniently situated between Xiaoputuo and Luwoshan, about 2-3km from both attractions. It offers a quiet escape while still being close to the action. It's an 8-minute walk to Wase Town Center, where you'll find public transportation with frequent buses to Dali Station. You can also flag down a bus right outside the hotel, and they'll stop on demand! The surrounding area has all the amenities you need, and shopping in town is very convenient. I personally loved the hotel's public areas; they're designed to be relaxing and comfortable, whether you're enjoying the view of Erhai Lake or unwinding in the backyard. What impressed me most was the thoughtful and meticulous service. They arranged so many delicious treats from morning till night, including a custom breakfast, hand-brewed coffee/flower tea and fruit pastries for afternoon tea, and rose vinegar in the evening. It truly felt like an all-inclusive stay; I just wanted to eat and drink at the hotel and didn't even want to go out!
