4-Star Hotels in Murmansk Oblast, Russia

They didn't warn us in advance that we'd have to pay extra on site for an extra bed for a child... Although we specifically booked a room with a sofa, it was so worn out that the staff apparently didn't dare fix it, so they installed an extra bed. The windows were very dirty... Both inside and out, you couldn't see the city. And everything was just a bit unfriendly... We had a very long drive and were tired, but apparently it's a harsh place... The staff is stern. The breakfast was excellent, the room was clean, everything was there. Even the seagulls tapping on the window.

When we arrived, our cabin wasn't ready and it was completely cold, which was a shame because the location was really cool. Thanks for moving us to another cabin, where the heating was turned on. It took about an hour for it to get somewhat warm, but the cabins are still cold. I don't know how anyone could stay here in really freezing temperatures. Bring warm long johns! We almost constantly had the AC on for heat, but turned it off at night because it was noisy, and we froze terribly by morning. It's important to note that condensation forms on the ceiling and constantly drips on you, which isn't great either. But! The bathroom with the sauna is very nice, and there's an outdoor hot tub. The administrator helped as much as she could, many thanks to her! Excellent breakfasts and dinners.

The hotel's facilities are pretty average, honestly, on par with a basic guesthouse back home. The room is tiny; once you lay out two 28-inch suitcases, there's practically no space left to move around. On the bright side, the location is excellent. Turn left when you leave, and you're right at the northernmost McDonald's, mostly filled with fellow travelers. Next to the supermarket, on the first basement floor, there's a rather large 24-hour hypermarket with a great selection of items, perfect for browsing. Overall, don't set your expectations too high for accommodations in this city. As for hotel options in this small town of Murmansk, this place is definitely top-tier.

The hotel was cozy and clean. The small lobby had complimentary Americano coffee, a microwave, and a small fish tank. Across the street was a very convenient supermarket where I could buy Arctic shrimp. I even bought some Russian cat treats for my cat, Mimi. It was a one-stop shop for milk, yogurt, juice, and bread. The microwave in the lobby was convenient for heating things up. I was incredibly lucky during my National Day holiday trip. On my first night in Murmansk, an Arctic Circle city, I spotted the aurora borealis at a lake at 9 pm! I was so excited! Before checking out, I wanted to buy some minerals. I saw a fridge magnet I liked in the front desk window, and just as I was about to pay, the receptionist said it was a gift for me! I was so happy!

recommend!! Super nice hotel, very warm and caring, delivered champagne and chocolates, and will also help to find the aurora. The room is very warm, and the stove will be hotter at night. The view is very good, there is a big lake on the side, because of the reason for the car reservation, we are allowed to check out until three o'clock. Thank you very much. :)
