4-Star Hotels in Jalisco, Mexico

Hotel is pretty new so it’s still kept up quite nicely. However I found the staff here at both the front desk and the restaurant exceptional. We stayed here on two different occasions and they were both good. Rooms have the proper windows to quiet the noise outside. Also the hotel has a shuttle to the airport BUT NOT FROM THE AIRPORT so keep this in mind. Uber is not allowed at the airport so you will need to take a taxi by pre-paying inside the airport near the rental car area. If you’re in need of staying near the airport, this is the best choice by far. Breakfast is usually included and pretty good too, not that continental crap. Enjoy! 😀

Hotel is in a prime location in the La Gourmeteria Center. Everything is within reach. High end, delicious, restaurants, bars, movie theatre. Super friendly staff. There's a donut shop right in front. Easy access to the main road or bus stop within a few blocks.

I originally planned to stay here one night in advance when I chose this hotel, and then go see the pyramids from the exclusive entrance of the hotel early in the morning to avoid the crowds. When I checked in, I discovered that the hotel entrance had been closed two years ago during the epidemic! You still have to drive around in a big circle to get back to the main entrance of the scenic spot to enter the park. The hotel lobby is very beautiful, and the sunset photos are excellent. There was also a large peacock walking around the hotel. The room was not bad either. The overall feeling is that the price/performance ratio is not very high. There may not be many customers, and the swimming pool and other facilities are not well maintained. I originally booked a room with breakfast included, but for some reason, I couldn't see this item in the hotel order. I was in a hurry and didn't bother to argue with them, so I paid first. Later, Ctrip customer service helped communicate and complete the refund. Thumbs up!

Great place, comfortable for everyone! Would 100% go there again and would recommend anyone to visit it, went with my friends and really enjoyed the breakfasts they served, also great service from the concierge and the assistant, such a pleasent young lady! I believe her name was Yizel

Este hotel yo creo solo le quedó la fama.. Parece que al hotel no le han hecho renovaciones desde el año 2000. Nos dejamos llevar por las fotos de la página web, las habitaciones se ven lujosas y súper bonitas. Pero entras y parece un bungalow. NO SE CONFÍEN de las fotos está totalmente diferente. Nos cobraron 3,800 por una habitación que era king plus o algo así ósea ofrecía más que la sencilla: una sala y una bañera con hidromasaje. En la bañera no cabía ni una persona, aparte de que está al lado del escusado. Y en la sala quisimos ver una película y solo se veían como 6 canales. Las sillas donde te sientas en la terraza son como de fierro antiguo súper duras e incómodas. Total que si querías relajarte pues era estar ahí acostado en la cama nomas. Lo que nos terminó por convencer de irnos fue que las paredes de las habitaciones no se de que material sean, pero se escucha todo lo de los cuartos vecinos. Literal escuchamos conversaciones enteras y llantos de niños Jajaj. Les recomendaría rentar un airbnb por mucho, mejor precio y mil veces mejor que este hotel en cuanto a descanso, privacidad etc.

The room was clean, check in clerk was friendly and the breakfast was not bad at all. Those are the positives. For the not-so-positive: I didn't get the room that I reserved despite booking directly from my IHG account but it was late for my arrival and with it being just one night, I didn't bother to see if my room type was there. There were no face cloths in the bathroom so that was a bit of a surprise. When I showered the next morning the water only got to a lukewarm temperature and that took about five minutes. My biggest concern, hence the title, was on check-out. The check out agent told me that the gentleman from the night before only charged me 180 pesos to my credit card where it should have been 1800. Thankfully, I keep every receipt and told her, ”you are incorrect and I just happen to have the receipt of what was billed to my credit card; let me show you”. Not only was I billed correctly, but it was 1863 pesos. It bothered me that a) if I didn't have this receipt, I would have had to pay again and then dispute the charge later with the credit card company and b) that there was such incompetence that one staff member was calling into question the working ability of the other. The gentlemen that checked me in billed me properly so I am not sure how their internal communication and record keeping got so screwed up. Needless to say, that left a bad taste in my mouth and made this hotel appear to be unprofessional and subject perhaps to scamming people which is not a good impression for a guest to leave with. Further, when the check-out agent was shown the evidence, she didn't even apologize but rather abruptly stated that she wanted to make a copy. I obliged but not after taking a pic in case somehow it was dropped and not returned. Regardless, though close to the airport, I would not stay here again but instead another in the area which I have done before.

Upon checking in as a Diamond Hilton member, I was happy to find out they had upgraded me to a room with a nice, spacious balcony with a spectacular view of Guadalajara Cathedral. (See photo) The top-floor restaurant has a similar view as well. The breakfast has a nice, tasty variety. I also enjoyed drinks with a friend at the restaurant on one of the nights. The staff are great and helpful too. Elizabeth really came through for me when I needed to extend my stay a couple nights. Another girl (Anayeri, I think) provided excellent service as well, helping me get my dry cleaning turned in, despite missing the 10am deadline. All in all, it was a lovely stay, and I look forward to staying at this hotel when I return in the future.

We stayed for a week at this hotel. The location is centralized and right next to the Plaza del Sol, a large open air shopping center. First and foremost, the service was outstanding. At all times we felt the staff cared and did what they could to help us enjoy our stay. The breakfast at the Cafe Urbano was outstanding with a wide array of freshly prepared and delicious food. The service at the Cafe Urbano deserves special mention. We tried the French restaurant and enjoyed it; tasty French bistro style food and good wine. The club level service was very good, with two hours of a very fine wine. We were pleased with the upgrade that we received due to IHG diamond status; the room had a living room and a ridiculous bathroom. Not many cons; the pool is underwhelming and there did not seem to be many guests. All and all, we felt the famous IHG hospitality and recommend.

Our 2nd time in the hotel in the past 2 yrs. This time we stayed for 1 night didn't sleep at all due to the street noise until 1 am. They gave us 4th floor where you could hear everything from the busy road. Last time we were in 23rd floor was great. The pillows this time was very small and uncomfortable too. I recommend asking customer which floor they prefer and informing about noise level. Maybe better and bigger pillows should be put in use.

A hotel with department services, I love the new hotel, the cleaning of the room and the practicality that you can park your car, I think what could improve is to give you instructions when you arrive, you must park on the S2 and of There you go up to 1 and then change hiss to go to floor 3 at the reception, all this would have been easier if they had explained it to me, but it's just one detail, breakfast is decent but could improve, for example, Capucchino coffee is very bad, I prefer to be covered with me but to be made with a professional machine with real milk, I think they could put toast in the breakfast, but it's okay, they give you fruit, yogurt, bread, and eggs, you can also ask frite eggs if you want it. The terrace of the hotel is divine and to work have a lot of open space, love the hotel, happiness, ah by the way the staff is very kind of all in fact, and that which cleaned my room 1604 was super smile and service.

We have stayed here twice! We ended up having our wedding here due to it's charm. We love the HISTORIC vibe and the unique character to the place makes this so attractive. Cue tall ceilings, candles, chandeliers, and stories. It is from the 1800s so don't expect top notch American grade plumbing and electricity, but expect to feel teleported back in time. We love the location to the center of GDL, their breakfast is delicious, and their security made us feel safe at night time. We will continue to come back here as a central spot in GDL and to relish in our memories! The honeymoon suite is GORGEOUS, with a little hot tub, if you can book it, do! The Wedding coordinators are the sweetest and the BEST, if you are thinking of a wedding here-top notch service!

The hotel is in a good section of Guadalajara across from Expo, near Plaza Del Sol, and central to most parts of the city. My room was large, modern, and very comfortable with a large bathroom as well. The only complaint I have is that the rooms are handicapped designed but the toilet is real low with no grab bars. It would be real difficult, if not nearly impossible, for a person in a wheelchair to use it. And, the toilet is so low that parts of the male anatomy actually touch the water. As for breakfast, there is a really nice buffet. There was the usual American fare with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, bread for toast, muffins, and more. Mexican food was abundant with chicken in mole sauce, Milanese res, a pork dish, and several more. Add in cereals, fruit, yogurts, salads, and fresh squeezed juices. And, it was all very good. I would stay here again the next time I return to Guadalajara.

This is an affordable all-inclusive place to stay with a nice beach for swimming and sitting on the sand. There isn't much shade but you can rent a beach umbrella and chairs. The lobby and buffet are open air so it can get really hot during the warmer months. The food was safe, but unremarkable. There was a good variety of choices everyday and each night at the buffet had a theme, such as Mexican, Seafood night and BBQ to name three. We were there at the beginning of October and the weather was still quite hot and the Air Conditioning in the inside restaurants was not quite strong enough to cool the place down, but the servers were excellent. I was worried before arriving that the hotel would be noisy at night, but they have a night club for the resort across the street for all of the late night partiers making the hotel a quiet place to rest and sleep. However, one of the elevators must have been over something very stinky because most of the time, there was a smell of sewer for a lot of our rides. It was the elevator that was for the rooms on the beach front side of the hotel that went up to the 7th floor. The other elevator in that section only went up to the 6th floor. The rooms were nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. We were on a top floor with roof exposure so our room was never able to cool down below 77 degrees despite the hotel's efforts to fix the AC so I had difficulty sleeping. I understand the lower rooms were nice and cool for sleeping. The maid did a great job keeping our room clean! This is a great place to stay for those who like a busy active beach area. It is centrally located which makes it easy to go into town or access tours. The hotel staff was great. If you want a more relaxing, quieter beach and pool, you will probably need to go elsewhere.

The hotel itself is so great! But I think I need a car to go to the hotel. The hotel does operate a car. There is also an airport pick-up service. The height is so great to see the landscape and the facilities are great. It's not cheap, but you can get the service you paid for. The exterior of the hotel also contributes to making you want to go. The rooms are spacious and wonderful. It has a large room that can accommodate 5 or 6 people and it seems to be a very good hotel for families to come and hospice.

We were very well taken care of, the area is beautiful. The view from the Villa is incredible. And so is the Villa itself.

It ’s a pity that if it is the same as the hotel, there will be sunrise and sunset. No cover. Overall more satisfied, the beach is a bit lost ha ha ha ha

The ”restaurant” area is used for eating as well as the hang out area because the poo/bar area is small. Now for the issues. There were no wash clothes in the bathroom of the room. Th TV allows a guest to use Netflix, Hulu or the like. There was no access to tv such as CNN. The restaurant often does not have simple things like sugar, pasta or rice. It often does not have major ingredients like shrimp and there is a very limited menu. More significant, there is one employee Eduardo (who is good but plays favorites with guest) who is the server, busser, pool boy, towel guy and bar tender. Service is glacially slow at best. The upside is the area is well kept. since everyone basically has to hang out there, they need electric sockets in more convenient areas. Finally, because of the size most guests are friendly.

I was at this location 2 years ago when it was Grand Fiesta Americana. The dinner restaurant menu and quality were excellent. As Hilton the quality of food at the restaurants has definitely gone DOWN from a 8 to 5. The night entertainment is very bad. They need to do some more fun pool activities and night shows. There is nothing to do at night after dinner. I would recommend working on better menu options, quality of food and entertainment. The Mexican restaurant has mainly American food. The Italian restaurant has very limited options and the food is not good at all. I couldn't even eat my Italian food. But the location, service and view of the hotel is excellent. I hate writing negative reviews but this is an honest review. Thank you!

The rooms were small and had to pay high premium for a more quiet part or you got the noisy ones by the lift or street view.  Reception stuff are really unwelcoming, unhelpful except David. Generally rate the service low all around except the restaurant staff. Would not go back, much nicer choices in Nurvo Vallarta.

Just finished a terrible week at this awful resort! First of all the lobby area is very dated and uninviting. Elevators the guest floors are dangerous as there were large hole in the elevator floor. The hallways of this resort are very dirty guests leave their dirty dishes and garbage out in the hallways and in the flower beds. Nobody comes to clean them up. Because of this at night the resort is infested with RACOONS! The rooms are VERY dated and seemed to missing a lot of basic things. Our room was missing a safe which we asked for one and they brought a broken one. The remote for the TV was missing and we asked multiple times for them to bring a remote and one was never delivered. Our room was also missing the telephone. Housekeeping is awful here. Rooms are cleaned sub par. Housekeeping will come either at 08:00am or 6pm. There’s no happy medium. Like we are on vacation! Some days we got towels some days we did not. The food at the buffet is absolutely horrendous. Same thing everyday all day. The food isn’t even warm always cold. The Al a carte restaurants are sub par at most but better than the buffet. To get a reservation at the Al a carte you have to make it at 9:01am. No exceptions. The pools are nice except for this resort doesn’t clean up the pool decks throughout the day therefore the pool areas get over run by cups and plates. Which attracts birds and wasps. Many times at the bars I was served drinks in a dirty cup. The beach is nice. The evening show “Broadway” was fantastic. The gardens of this resort is beautiful. I have a strong feeling that this resort pays for good reviews. Because it is definitely not a 4 star hotel.

All inclusive resort with both family and adult only pools with the sandy beach also as an option. We chose the room directly opposite the ocean with fabulous sunset views. Five restaurants on site and always at least two open so plenty to choose from 24 hours. Unlimited drinks on site. Lots of different free activities throughout the day. Friendly and attentive staff, very welcoming for all. It is family oriented with plenty of children. Large TV flatscreen in room, only disappointment only 2 English speaking channels.

I don't usually post negative comments, but if this will help another traveler make an informed choice, I thought I'd let you know a couple of things. First, I booked a junior suite with an ocean view. The rooms are very nice and spacious. However, our ocean view was actually of telephone poles and wires and the thatched roof of the club across the alley. I admit, the ocean was in view, beyond these obstacles. Our original room was on the 4th floor and the first night our roof sprung a fast leak due to the downpour outside. It was mostly cleaned up and we were told to let the front desk know in the morning that we needed to move rooms. I would have thought that due to the inconvenience of having to re-pack everything, that they would have given us an upgraded room. Instead, they gave us a junior ocean view suite on the 3rd floor with a closer view of the wires and rooftop. This room also had only one patio chair so even if we wanted to sit out on the patio, we wouldn't have been able to together. The resort itself has nice amenities.
