4-Star Hotels in Southern Region, Iceland

The room was the largest I stayed in during my trip to Iceland, with a classic, old-European charm. The location is quite remote, out in the middle of nowhere. For dining, you can drive about ten minutes to Selfoss. Everything was good, except for the bathroom which wasn't very clean.

My favourite hotel pick during my 7-day trip in Iceland. Location was not perfect but if you are driving from Vik to Reykjavik- spending a night in between at this hotel and get a restful night would be a highlight. Nice, new, styled and clean, with excellent seaview as it is attached to a black sand beach. Not with good connection to the 5G network but WiFi is good. And for the restaurant - you will regret if you are not trying this if you are staying there for a night! Dinner was excellent and impressive! So as the complimentary breakfast. Definitely recommending this to everyone if you are looking for an unforgettable highlight stay in Iceland. I think there should be a high chance for seeing northern lights there if the weather is ok.

It is nice experience to live in the bubble house in forest. Though we are lucky that we encounter severe storm the day we arrived, but the hotel does not offer earlier check in or later check out possibility, even the wind speed was above 120km/hour. The electricity cut and light during storm felt a bit nervous. It might be an nature issue, I expect service to be more attentive! For the paid price, i would alao expect service center bar and toillet could be seperate space. it is very interesting experience to stay in forest. But one time is ok, because the service is not good for its price. A pity.

The hotel is clean and close to the waterfall as well as the Systravatn Viewpoint. We didn’t see the aurora during the night we stayed but we saw meteors which is also a very nice surprise. The staff of the hotel are helpful and friendly.

3 supermarkets around in which two was within a 5-min walk. Oil station was nearby. Closed to the sightseeing spots. Could park the car right downstairs. Room was spacious enough, quite clean and new. Had some common area for the guests. It located right on the Ring road. Problem: No advanced check-in information was provided and there was no reception. Guests had to call the staff upon arrival. Hence, guests had to make sure you could call them for information when you arrived the apartment. It was excellent that Trip.com allowed me to call the staff for free.

The hotel's exterior is beautiful, and the interior design is stunning. The scenery is simply breathtaking, surrounded by glaciers and the sea. The staff are very friendly, and the rooms are lovely, clean, and feel luxurious. There are three outdoor hot springs, and you can even dip in the glacier water if you get too warm. The restaurant is also excellent, with a great variety of delicious dishes. This hotel comes highly recommended!

The most satisfying hotel in Iceland! ! ! It is so beautiful, located on the hillside, comfortable and quiet, each house also has a separate sauna room, very comfortable.

This hotel was an unexpected gem on an otherwise desolate road. Tucked away in the mountains, the architecture is understated yet stylish. Soaking in the hot springs at night was incredibly relaxing; the water temperature was perfect, and the lights reflected beautifully on the surface. The oatmeal bowl with fruit for breakfast was simple but thoughtfully prepared. The most considerate touch was the complimentary disposable razor at the front desk – it's the little details that count. I felt completely at ease during my stay and highly recommend it to anyone passing through. 🌄♨️🥣

Located in the heart of Selfoss, it offers easy access to both the coast and the inland area. The facilities are relatively new. The rooms are not particularly large. There's parking, but it's limited, so you'll have to park on the street if you run out. Breakfast is similar to other hotels, but the selection isn't extensive. The coffee is good. There's a spa, but it costs 3,000 kroner per person. It has two small circular heated pools, one cold pool, a sauna, and showers.

The room was super warm, and the waiter sister also specially selected a river view room closest to the hot spring for us. It’s great to listen to the sound of running water and soak in the hot spring! It was snowing on the day of check-in, and the hot spring in the snow was really fun. The town is not far from Reykjavik. It is also a big town in Iceland. The transportation is convenient. Although there are not many people, there are still several restaurants. If you are tired of the traditional package of the hotel, you can drive or walk to the restaurant in the town. The next morning, I saw tourists riding horses on the opposite mountain to explore the volcanic spring!
