Had a disabled access room, which was understandably big but very bare. Room 151; the TV remote - provide one with the back cover on it, as opposed to the batteries being exposed. I felt it very tight, that after the price we paid for this hotel that we are charged £12 for parking our car. That was not a good start for us, as I didn't expect something like that, particularly after the cost of stopping overnight which wasn't cheap. Breakfast was good. Overall, I won't be back as it did not justify the price charged for the stay.

The room is so spacious. Couple of gripes are i was unable to have a coffee as the kettle had seen better days and was really grubby inside. When we got out of the lift at floor 1 there was an overwhelming smell of ******** as if someone had been smoking it in their room. We just looked at eachother as it is a personal dislike of that smell. Its very distinguished and lingers - the smell remained each time we got out of the lift. Service was impeccable.

Stayed at the Barton Manor hotel and spa with my daughter….we had a wonderful time….from arriving to leaving the staff can’t do enough for you…the breakfast is really nice…we did not book into the restaurant for evening meal, but I was told by other guests…that the restaurant food was delicious. We will definitely be going back .

Easy to find. Parking a short distance from entrance. If you are in anyway disabled you can drop off my main entrance but cannot park. There is no lift in the hotel so if disabled you are going to need to ask for a ground floor room. I didn't know there was no lift so they had to quickly change my top floor room to ground floor room. They did this effortlessly despite being fully booked. The room smelt unpleasant so I kept window open and used air freshener. There was no remote for the TV and when they found a spare remote, the TV didn't work. They brought in a second TV and the manager was a hilarious man who made me roar with laughter as he tried to resolve the issues. The food was good. I stayed two days. I would come back.

We stayed over for a night - late check in and out. The staff were very attentive and accommodating. We have 2 children, a 4 years old and a 5 months old. We arrived quite late and so were the last table in the restaurant for dinner as well as the last to join the breakfast. However, the staff made sure we have all we needed and tried their best to help us. Impressive service and a pleasant stay. We will definitely come back to this hotel in the next visit to Lancaster.

Reasonably priced hotel with all the basics and friendly service. One girl changing the rooms when we were leaving saw me struggling with my luggage and hurried to carry it to the main door for me which I really appreciated. The room was clean and adequate but our stay was somewhat spoiled when we discovered that the shower was stuck on extremely hot..too hot to use temperature so we had to content ourselves with washing at the wash basin which we didn't appreciate.

Located in Blackpool, Big Blue is a great base to explore the city from. The gym provides a place for guests to work out. You'll find a restaurant at the property with a variety of dining options available. During your stay, treat yourself to room service with food from the in-house restaurant. Finish your day off with a drink at the bar. For extra convenience, free luggage storage and dry cleaning are available at the property as well. Guests arriving by car can use the property's parking lot.

We were dissappointed in the car parking situation. It wasn't exactly made clear that you need to drive into where it was marked exit and press for them to lift the barrier. Then unfortunately there was no room so had to call into reception to find out where we could park it was a bit stressful and could have been avoided. The hotel itself is very secure as you need to press for access to the entrance. Once up to reception on the first floor we were welcomed and allocated a room. The room was very tired with marked and scratched walls and ceiling. The bathroom had all the ususl facilities but a great big crack was in the tiles on the floor about two and half feet long. The shower head was dirty and the bottom of the main door was peeling away. The bed was two single mattresses put together which were obviously well used and meant there was a bump in between which wasnt very comfy. The bar was expensive for drinks and the staff seemed to multitask serving and cleaning tables etc. Some of the same staff were at breakfast and it just felt a bit overall short staffed. The breakfast itself was adequate but basic. We did notify reception on checking out of our findings as we are not usually ones to complain but the issues do make a difference and some just general maintenance.

EEileen Louise PlunkettWe were travelling to Blackpool for a dance competition at Blackpool tower. The location of this hotel was perfect, we had a lovely sea view room as it was right on the sea front. I arrived separately from my friends by train, I walked from the train station to the hotel and it was very easy to find and took me about 15 mins. The staff were very helpful and I wasn’t checked in very quickly. While waiting on my friends I went to check out the hotel. I used the pool and steam rooms and then used the gym. There was a charge of £2.00 for these facilities which I was happy to pay. I know other people on various reviews I have read had complained about these charges. Especially if there was a few of them travelling as a family. The hotel looks very nice in all the public areas and was very clean. As I have already said it’s in a very good location and I would definitely return to this hotel next time I visit Blackpool as it is also very good value for money

PP40ULWThe hotel and entrance are great, no complaints there. I’ve been a regular at another hotel within 5 miles of here, where the facilities are immaculate and the rooms are always meticulously clean. So I had high expectations. On walking into my room (250), it was freezing. I immediately turned on the electric radiator, but was woken up at 2am by the thermostat flicking on and off repeatedly. The digital screen kept lighting up and going off it felt like there was a rave in my room. Highly annoying and not conducive to a good night’s sleep. Before bed, I went for a shower and splashed foamy suds around as you do. After finishing, I was washing down the inside of the shower cubicle and noticed what I thought were leftover soap suds near the door handle. I went to wipe them off and I can tell you now, they were not soap suds. Absolutely disgusting. The previous occupant clearly lacked basic hygiene, and although it shouldn’t be expected, the cleaners really need to have a keener eye for detail. This sort of thing should never be missed. Photos attached for reference.

GGuest UserI have stayed here a few times and in general had a pleasant stay. I booked last minute for a Saturday night and I was very disappointed to find a party going on until 12.00. T he music was pretty loud and I had booked a double but was given a twin. I feel that when booking I should have been told there was a disco on and I could have booked elsewhere. On a positive note I appreciate the free parking.

GGuest UserWe had two rooms booked. 1 room was with elederly parents! The room given was a fair walk and was quite far from the reception area with no assistance only verbal directions. It would've been nice to have had some assistance from staff. When we got to the room the sink plughole was blocked so I rang reception to get it fixed, didn't happen! Questioned reception duty staff and he lied and he said he had it fixed by maintenance when no one even came to look at it! This isn't the service we expected from ‘Mercure’ standard. Leaning over the bath to brush our teeth and everytime we needed to wash our hands after using the toilet we had to use the bathtub. Not sure I read anywhere but to use the swimming facilities the adults have to pay £10 fee. Other than that the hotel is near local shops/motorway as well.

GGuest UserBooked for one night & due to circumstances ended up checking in on 3 consecutive nights. As a lady solo traveller I felt so safe and completely at ease here. Unfortunately as it wasn’t a planned trip I didn’t have swimming costume with me to make use of their facilities. Parking is lovely & close to hotel. Whole hotel spotless & beds comfiest I’ve ever slept in while travelling. Breakfast, loads of choice & although buffet style all very fresh. Staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Super the bar served fresh food until late as I was later checking in on all nights. If I’m in the area I would gladly stay here again & happily recommend to other travellers 😊
