EEileen Louise PlunkettWe were travelling to Blackpool for a dance competition at Blackpool tower. The location of this hotel was perfect, we had a lovely sea view room as it was right on the sea front. I arrived separately from my friends by train, I walked from the train station to the hotel and it was very easy to find and took me about 15 mins. The staff were very helpful and I wasn’t checked in very quickly. While waiting on my friends I went to check out the hotel. I used the pool and steam rooms and then used the gym. There was a charge of £2.00 for these facilities which I was happy to pay. I know other people on various reviews I have read had complained about these charges. Especially if there was a few of them travelling as a family. The hotel looks very nice in all the public areas and was very clean. As I have already said it’s in a very good location and I would definitely return to this hotel next time I visit Blackpool as it is also very good value for money
GGuest UserWe have stayed several times at the imperial, this time we upgraded to a double bed suite with sea view at a cost of £160 on a two night stay. Sadly the suite (Churchill Suite) didn’t meet expectations. In very urgent need of repair and decoration, windows in lounge area filled with silicone with huge gaps and letting cold in. Supposed to be able to open but all siliconed together. The quadrant shower leaked onto the floor from the tray and waste. We removed the wast cap to see if that helped, sadly it just revealed a disgusting black gunge inside the waste that had not been cleaned for a long time. Didn’t use the drawers in the bedroom, not clean. General cleanliness will be difficult to achieve due to the delapadated state of the suite as a whole including fixtures and fittings. I think Mr Churchill who resides in many picture forms on the walls within the suite would be most upset with the conditions. Even the window drapes had fittings missing making it difficult to close curtains. On a positive note, the breakfast is excellent, I hope that things can be improved at the imperial and we will hope to hear about any planned updates to this 4**** hotel so that once again we can enjoy a break there?
PP40ULWThe hotel and entrance are great, no complaints there. I’ve been a regular at another hotel within 5 miles of here, where the facilities are immaculate and the rooms are always meticulously clean. So I had high expectations.
On walking into my room (250), it was freezing. I immediately turned on the electric radiator, but was woken up at 2am by the thermostat flicking on and off repeatedly. The digital screen kept lighting up and going off it felt like there was a rave in my room. Highly annoying and not conducive to a good night’s sleep.
Before bed, I went for a shower and splashed foamy suds around as you do. After finishing, I was washing down the inside of the shower cubicle and noticed what I thought were leftover soap suds near the door handle. I went to wipe them off and I can tell you now, they were not soap suds.
Absolutely disgusting. The previous occupant clearly lacked basic hygiene, and although it shouldn’t be expected, the cleaners really need to have a keener eye for detail. This sort of thing should never be missed.

GGuest UserI have stayed here a few times and in general had a pleasant stay. I booked last minute for a Saturday night and I was very disappointed to find a party going on until 12.00. T he music was pretty loud and I had booked a double but was given a twin. I feel that when booking I should have been told there was a disco on and I could have booked elsewhere. On a positive note I appreciate the free parking.
GGuest UserHad a disabled access room, which was understandably big but very bare. Room 151; the TV remote - provide one with the back cover on it, as opposed to the batteries being exposed. I felt it very tight, that after the price we paid for this hotel that we are charged £12 for parking our car. That was not a good start for us, as I didn't expect something like that, particularly after the cost of stopping overnight which wasn't cheap. Breakfast was good. Overall, I won't be back as it did not justify the price charged for the stay.
GGuest UserWe had two rooms booked. 1 room was with elederly parents! The room given was a fair walk and was quite far from the reception area with no assistance only verbal directions. It would've been nice to have had some assistance from staff.
When we got to the room the sink plughole was blocked so I rang reception to get it fixed, didn't happen! Questioned reception duty staff and he lied and he said he had it fixed by maintenance when no one even came to look at it! This isn't the service we expected from ‘Mercure’ standard.
Leaning over the bath to brush our teeth and everytime we needed to wash our hands after using the toilet we had to use the bathtub.
Not sure I read anywhere but to use the swimming facilities the adults have to pay £10 fee. Other than that the hotel is near local shops/motorway as well.
GGuest UserThis was my second stay at the hotel, and once again it did not disappoint. I first stayed here last August with my family, and this time I returned with my husband for a peaceful getaway. The calm, relaxing atmosphere made our stay truly enjoyable. A lovely place to unwind, and we would happily come back again.
GGuest UserAbsolutely fabulous weekend break set in beautiful surroundings, peaceful and we loved the wildlife. The staff were friendly and very informative and available for anything we needed. The food was lovely and everything very reasonably priced. We will definitely be booking another stay.
GGale BEasy to find. Parking a short distance from entrance. If you are in anyway disabled you can drop off my main entrance but cannot park.
There is no lift in the hotel so if disabled you are going to need to ask for a ground floor room. I didn't know there was no lift so they had to quickly change my top floor room to ground floor room. They did this effortlessly despite being fully booked.
The room smelt unpleasant so I kept window open and used air freshener.
There was no remote for the TV and when they found a spare remote, the TV didn't work. They brought in a second TV and the manager was a hilarious man who made me roar with laughter as he tried to resolve the issues.
The food was good. I stayed two days. I would come back.
GGuest UserBooked for one night & due to circumstances ended up checking in on 3 consecutive nights. As a lady solo traveller I felt so safe and completely at ease here. Unfortunately as it wasn’t a planned trip I didn’t have swimming costume with me to make use of their facilities. Parking is lovely & close to hotel. Whole hotel spotless & beds comfiest I’ve ever slept in while travelling. Breakfast, loads of choice & although buffet style all very fresh. Staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Super the bar served fresh food until late as I was later checking in on all nights. If I’m in the area I would gladly stay here again & happily recommend to other travellers 😊
