The hotel's location is superb, just a five-minute walk from the airport. The room type we were assigned was a bit odd, in a corner with no view of the runway. However, it was quite spacious; I could easily open my 30-inch suitcase and still move around comfortably without feeling cramped. For this price, this amount of space, plus such flexible cancellation terms and breakfast included, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better deal getting into London city. Breakfast was an English buffet, and it was tasty, with gluten-free options available. I'd recommend it to anyone landing at STN!

Our stay was really good as I was worried being a holiday Inn , but how wrong was it supassed all my expectations from the quality of food to the amenities to the welcoming of the staff when you walk through the door. Would I stay here again? Definitely we had the best weekend using the spa facilities the Marco Perry restaurant and all the other amenities that were available. It was a Very pleasant stay and we were made to feel very welcome. The rooms were really lovely. We got free upgrade when we arrived which was a lovely thing as it was my birthday. They're just really lovely. The beds were comfortable. There were extra pillows if you needed them as well . The only thing is you have to pay for your parking there which was quite expensive. £24, but you know apart from that everything else was really lovely and we really enjoyed our weekend. The swimming pool , Sauna jacuzzi, and steam room was great way to spend our last afternoon and all free , they also provided you with towels . The breakfast was lovely lots of choice and there is a Marco Perrie restaurant on site , but there was also another menu if you wanted something more simpler to eat to sit around the bar area .

Excellent venue and overall a really lovely stay. The hotel is in a great location, the bar area was lovely and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The massage was great, although we were a little confused as to why we couldn’t book two treatments together but were able to book them separately. Our room was beautiful, but the pillows were far too soft for me and I struggled to get comfortable. It would be great if there was a choice of pillow firmness to suit different preferences. Parking was probably the biggest downside. There was a wedding and a funeral taking place around the same time, which made parking quite difficult, although by the following morning there was plenty of space. We weren’t able to book the restaurant, but we sat outside instead which actually worked out really well, and the food was great. There is a selection of free breakfast for guest which when we wasn’t that hungry eliminated the stress to eat a large breakfast for large prices. I’d definitely recommend the Roslin Beach Hotel. The only thing that would really elevate it for a retreat or relaxing stay would be the addition of a pool or spa area.

We stayed here because we had a very early flight from Stansted and needed to be at the airport around three hours before departure. Travelling with a child, having a hotel close to the airport made things much easier and meant we did not have to travel in the middle of the night. The hotel has a shuttle bus to the airport. It costs £4 per adult and children travel free. This is not really a criticism of Novotel specifically, but I do feel airport hotel shuttle buses should ideally be included in the room price. The hotel itself did the job. It is quite tired looking and could use some updating. We stayed during a very hot period and there was a slightly stale smell in the hotel, although I can understand that the heat probably did not help. The air conditioning in the hotel was not very strong, but it was enough to take the edge off. The main positive is that, as a large chain hotel, it has everything you need for a short airport stay. The staff were also very friendly throughout. Overall, it was fine for one night before an early flight and served its purpose well.

The hotel staff were very nice and kind. Upon arrival we had a lot of bags and the staff made sure we got a room on ground floor and there was a trolley to move our items at once. We were indoors all the time so cleaning staff left our room to give us privacy. Next morning we requested to have our room cleaned and in 5 mins there was someone there to clean. So efficient!!

I booked a last minute night away with the children: afternoon tea followed by an overnight. The afternoon tea was delicious and I was really well catered for as a vegan diner. The Grand Hall was a beautiful setting for afternoon tea. The children also loved their food - the sandwiches were much simpler for the children and they got seconds based on how delicious they were. Our room was large and had a sofa bed and a cot bed. We enjoyed playing in the grounds including the play area, outdoor chess, boules, the scavenger hunt and the fitness trail. My son also loved playing football in the garden - he was excited that there were goals set up. We had dinner in The Fox Bar and had drinks and played cards in the Grand Hall afterwards. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. We were really excited to find newts in the pond. They would love to stay again. I would love to come for an overnight with my partner to experience it differently without the children.

Right next to Southend beach and good links to shopping centre and shops. The phone in the hotel room 308 didn’t work at alll so had to go down a lot to request service. Also they gave me a spare duvet which I requested to reception but got it 12 hours later from housekeeping.  The air conditioning and heater in ro9m was very good and comfy king size beds too with a good fridge. Overall me and my wife were happy with the hotel and would stay here again. I ordered food from uber eats app and they dropped off at reception area. Also booking a cab fwas quick and only 5 mins from Southend central station or 9 mins walk froom station to the hotel.

I recently stayed at Holiday Inn Colchester and overall had a positive experience. The hotel was very clean throughout and the reception staff provided excellent service, they were friendly, efficient and welcoming.  However, the jacuzzi was not operational during my stay, which was disappointing as it was one of the facilities I was looking forward to using.  Despite this, the cleanliness and quality of service made the stay comfortable. 

Hotel was ideal for our trip, easy to find and from the outside looked quaint and welcoming. On checking in things seamed a little stressful. After we checked in we were folded how to find our room. On entering our room which was larger that we expected and welcoming. But sadly when I went to the bathroom I noticed that the shower tiling /grouting was signs of mould around the cubicle in general. Broken tile on the entrance to the shower and grout missing between the tiles on the side of the bath. Toilet seat loose and be aware if you use the shower as the shower temperature fluctuates wildly and the shower head doesn’t fit properly. Staff are welcoming, but service in the lounge restaurant was not as expected and staff shortage was apparent. Breakfast was okay but not particularly hot on both mornings, and having to ask for cups & saucer’s as not already on tables.
