This new hotel is the perfect place to stay when arriving or departing from the Liberia airport. The staff--special shootout to Daniel--are friendly, professional, helpful, and multilingual. The hotel is clean and well decorated. The pool and bar area provides a comfortable place to relax. The fitness room is clean, cool, and has sufficient equipment to get in a good workout or stretch. The rooms are small with comfortable beds. I will stay at the Hampton Inn Guanacaste again!

I have traveled worldwide for 70+ years and stayed at some of the finest resorts - and I have to say that Punta Islita now tops the list. EVERYTHING was truly five-star: ambience, food, service, rooms, views, activities. Absolutely ideal for a romantic vacation. We were there in ”rainy season” so occupancy was low, but it's warm tropical rain that had little affect on our enjoyment of the resort. It is a little remote - a rough three hour drive from Liberia airport, or a local small plane hop (the better option) to an air ***** a few miles from Punta Islita. I'm hoping to return!

Wonderful staff and the options for many adventures here including horseback riding canopy tours and tubing. We saw many waterfalls right here that were amazing and the natural hot springs were glorious in the rain! We also spent a day in the Rincón de la Vieja National park which was easily accessed from the hacienda . It was definitely worth it with lovely trails, fumaroles and waterfalls. Very well maintained trails! Easy to get to the Liberia airport which was important to us. We did rent an SUV there

Obsessed with this hotel! We stayed recently and were kindly upgraded to a beautiful corner room facing the Pacific Ocean as we were celebrating our honeymoon. The bed was so comfortable with tons of pillows to suit your preference. Room was impeccably clean, and the property decor is done to perfection. The property is centrally located to restaurants and walking distance to the Danta Beach. The rooftop pool was great, never crowded and had beautiful views of Las Catalinas. The lobby bar & restaurant were our go-to numerous times during our stay with great service, and the coffee shop on property was good as well for a morning coffee run or quick grab & go bite. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, we had an absolutely incredible time during our stay here. I think our only complain was no drink service at the rooftop pool, but it's not a long journey to the lobby bar for a cocktail. Eli at the lobby bar was phenomenal, and the lady at the front desk - I can't remember her name - but she was always so kind & helpful, providing excellent customer service.

Overall our trip was good. The sunsets are beautiful there. The room was outdated, but clean. The humidity causes the room to have a moldy smell. Our housekeeper kept our room very clean. The pool is beautiful and that’s where we spent most of our time. The buffet food needs some work. Some food is great and some was very mediocre. We ate at Kyoto and the service and sushi were good, but the hibachi needs some work. La Fontana was good food and the service was great. I guess our expectations of this hotel being a 5 star hotel were high. The best part of stay was getting massages 3 days in a row. Alejandro and Tamara were so sweet and kind to us and provided awesome massages. They really made our trip. Some of the employees were rude to us and we felt uncomfortable at first. But at our first massage, we felt so happy afterwards. We went into town and when we came back we were locked out of our room. We were booked for 9 days and they messed up and had us booked for 7. We decided to just pack and leave. We wanted to end our time in Tamarindo on a high note so we went and got a hotel downtown for the last few days and really had a good time and met some really nice people.
