5-Star Hotels in New South Wales, Australia

My stay at Meriton Suites Chatswood in Sydney was, overall, very satisfying. The hotel's location is excellent, right near Chatswood train station, making it incredibly convenient for getting to the city center or surrounding areas. The room was spacious and clean, with complete amenities including a kitchen, washing machine, and dryer – perfect for long stays or families. The view from the window was expansive, offering cityscapes that were beautiful, especially at night. The front desk service was warm and professional; both check-in and check-out were smooth, and the staff were happy to answer all questions. The hotel's cleaning was excellent, maintaining a very clean and comfortable environment throughout my stay. In summary, this is a highly cost-effective apartment hotel, ideal for both leisure and business travelers. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Sydney.

Customer Service is amazing. Everyone I met is amazing, including front desk, in room dining, and bars at levels 3 and 29. We enjoyed fireworks with desserts and cocktails at Bar in level 3. It was a great experience indeed. The hotel room is very spacious, and the bed is very comfortable. The only downside is the indoor poolthe water is so cold.

Great facility, great location, it would be a great stay but your receptionist Ramy has ruined it at the time of the check in. A great thanks to your reservation team who is able to solve the problem whin a few minutes.

We booked a room specifically for its Sydney Opera House view. However, there's a busy road right outside the building, and even though we were on a high floor, it was incredibly noisy. It felt like there were no windows at all to block the sound! After repeatedly checking, I realized the windows were fixed. I can't believe how poor the sound insulation quality is; the noise was simply unbearable!

The hotel boasts an excellent location, with a subway station conveniently situated right across the street and numerous attractions nearby. The lobby is quite grand. However, the view from our room was unfortunately obstructed by trees, leading to poor visibility and diminishing the supposed advantage of a park-view room. Breakfast was lavish, featuring a self-service station for fresh fruit and vegetable juices. Overall, the service was decent. But we had a very frustrating experience: during morning check-out, an elderly person in our group accidentally left a public transport card tucked inside their room key. When we returned in the evening to look for it, we received no help whatsoever. Their staff proved inflexible and unhelpful, especially when confronted with an urgent issue.

This is a beautiful hotel set right in the heart of downtown Sydney. We loved our stay here. The staff were very attentive to anything we needed and happy to help. The room was clean and very beatifully appointed with luxurious features. The buffet breakfast was amazing with delicious cold and hot food and fresh fruit and pastries and great coffee. We loved the heritage feeling of this hotel and how central it was to many of Sydney's landmarks and must see places! We highly recommend The Fullerton Hotel Sydney and would love to come back again.

The room is spacious and we can enjoy breakfast in the living room every morning before heading out! They allowed us to check-in early since there is available room. Also, the location is so nice, around 5 mins walk to the Woolworths Supermarket and the Train station. This is the second time I stay with them, and I will definitely stay again when I visit Sydney.

I stayed at the Crowne in September 2025 and, honestly, it was a deeply disappointing experience. At check-in, the treatment I received from the front desk staff was appalling—plainly rude, condescending, and with the clear attitude that they were doing me a favor just by checking me in. Such arrogance and lack of basic courtesy are simply unacceptable in any hotel, let alone one that claims to be five stars. The contrast could not have been greater at check-out, where we were finally treated with genuine kindness by a member of staff, her name Was Ever Jade. But this only highlighted the unprofessional and ill-mannered behavior of the man who greeted us upon arrival. First impressions matter, and in this case they set the worst possible tone. The hotel itself might look fine at first glance, but the cleanliness is far below what one would expect from a property of this supposed category. And the most outrageous detail came at breakfast: after paying $700 for a room with breakfast included, I was told I was only entitled to one single coffee. This is beyond ridiculous—not even the lowest-rated bed and breakfasts would dare impose such an absurd restriction. A five-star hotel cannot afford these kinds of lapses. The management urgently needs to provide proper training to its staff—not only in professional procedures, but also in basic respect and hospitality. Equally, charging premium prices while denying guests something as simple as a second cup of coffee is both insulting and degrading. Guests who spend a fortune on a stay deserve a five-star experience, not a lesson in rudeness and penny-pinching.

The kitchen is well-equipped with all the necessary utensils, and a washer and dryer are also available. The room is a little on the small side, but it was perfectly adequate. The facilities are a bit dated, but the location is excellent. As for service, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, but there was no housekeeping service. Overall, it offers good value for money.

Overall better than Melbourne one but have to say the room cleaning services was bad. I’ve left one toothpaste stain on mirror, it’s not removed. When I was searching for something on the floor, I’ve found one slipper left under my (bed) - no idea the poor slipper was left there for how long 😒 The hotel is old but charging a 5-Stars price… definitely not worth the price That said, front desk staff are all helpful and nice.
