SSvetaBorThe best thing is its location. It's very close to the train station and the Flex Bus stops. While other places are considered dirty and dangerous by their proximity to the train station, Antwerp is the opposite – clean and safe. I never go out at night, though. The lobby is beautiful and impressive. Check-in was quick. The staff tries to speak your language with the help of a translator. My first room was a standard one on the second floor. But the minibar and safe didn't work. I was moved to another room on the fifth floor. It was cold, but I tolerated it overnight. I reported the problem to reception, and the maid turned on the heating. The heating is a built-in split-system unit. The vent is in the wall above the desk. If you sit at the desk, the draft hits your shoulders; if you lie in bed, the draft hits your head and there's no escape. Of course, I understand that this is individual, but I really feel the draft. The room is an unusual shape, with a bypass corridor around the toilet. Because of this, the room's usable size is reduced. The minibar/fridge is tiny, with almost no storage space. Guests are expected to dine in the restaurants, but this isn't ideal for everyone for various reasons. Minibar items are, of course, a paid service. Slippers, a robe, toothpaste, a toothbrush, and body lotion are not provided. The room includes two thin glasses (for some reason, only one glass in a double room), and paper cups for tea and coffee. There's a coffee machine. You get two capsules free on the first day. If you want more, they'll cost 2.50 each. Water is available for a fee, at 6 euros per liter. However, there is a Bible in the desk drawer. There's no overhead light in the room. The light is so intimate and ”Moroccan” that it's impossible to read or write. On the plus side, there are copies of abstract paintings that complement the decor. The deposit you pay upon check-in is not fully refundable. A city tax of 6 euros per day is deducted from the price. There's a pool, sauna, and fitness center for 7 euros per day. Very good. All reception staff are always happy to help.
