stayed here because its essentially the only backpackers in hamilton.. The place really lacks privacy - there's no separation curtains on the beds in the room so feels very open, no separated bathroom- all in the same room, but at least the toilets have gendered signs on the doors.. would prefer more separation since the men's and women's are all next to eachother. Owner and/or cleaners would come into the rooms without knocking. My bed had the AC directly above it and it was kept on all night, quite drafty. Had a decent kitchen and community area, and good location though.
Close to the Chartwell shopping mall, clean room and has all basic amenities. Heater did not really warm the room much and there is a centralized control at the corridor so I guess that is the reason why but the room wasn’t cold either so it wasn’t too bad staying during winter. The travelers next to our room made a lot of noise during bedtime (close to midnight) and I understand this is beyond the landlord’s control. The only thing that I would recommend is for the landlord to put up a notice to ensure that the lodgers will keep the house quiet after 10pm.
We made a temporary reservation due to weather problems. There were no hotels nearby, only motels. I was a little worried about hygiene and safety issues. When we arrived, the front desk staff was very enthusiastic and gave us two bottles of water and chocolates. The room was large and there was a stove for cooking. I arrived at almost 7 o'clock in the evening during a holiday, and there was no restaurant to eat. In the morning, I went to the Bosca cafe opposite to have a rich breakfast. Thank you Ctrip for your enthusiastic help
I stayed here with my mum and brother in a kitchen cabin. The cabin itself was quite basic and very small – fine for one night, but it would feel too cramped for a longer stay.
That said, the campsite itself is lovely and the swimming pools were an absolute highlight. We really loved them and would happily stay here again just for the pools alone.
Next time, I’d definitely upgrade the accommodation to something more spacious. An on-site café would also be a great addition and would really enhance the overall experience.
As we had a glowworm cave tour booked, we decided to stay overnight in Waitomo. The guesthouse was ideally located, with a great restaurant just around the corner, which made dinner very convenient. We stayed in room 40, and the bedroom came with an electric heater. Free parking was also available.
We had a wonderful stay at the hostel. The staff were very friendly and gave us a thorough introduction to the hostel, including its lovely animal residents, like baby lambs, deer, pig, and horse. A highlight of my stay was the chance to feed the baby lamb, which was a truly memorable experience! The facilities are basic, but everything is in good working order and covers the essentials. The bedding was clean, and they provided a clear wall guide on how to set it up, which was helpful and a nice touch. Overall, it was a cozy, enjoyable stay, and we would definitely recommend it to others!
We were pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, tidy, and really well presented. The bathroom was really big, and the shower was awesome. We were a bit worried about traffic noise as it's on a busy road and next to a BP station, but once the windows were closed, it was so quiet. You honestly couldn't hear anything. You do have to go to another motel to book inn, which isn't a problem, but it should be mentioned when you make your booking. Will definitely stay here again.
Stay in the lowest price room for toilet bath shared
There is nothing amenities. There was a body soap from the shower room, so there would be only body soap.
Because of the off-season, there were few customers and the common space was clean.
We stayed as a family of 4 the rooms were emaculately clean, the beds were beautiful and very generous sizing, local milk in beauitful glass bottles connecting the local rural communiy was a great touch. All appliances were new and whisper quiet, which meant we all slept very well. Glenys gave us plenty of advice on where to take the children, local hot pools were a hit and the domain next door with playground gardens and basket ball courts for free family fun, the exploding geyser was great entertainment, very handy location to all the walking tracks up mt Te aroha, supermarket and shops easy walking distance from motel.
The service was second to none.
Rod and Glenys were amazing hosts who went above and beyond to make sure we all had the best stay.
We had car trouble, and they opened their garage and time to help us get back on the road forever grateful.Truely, beautiful caring people.
We will be back again soon and have told all our friends and family of our new favorite motel
super affordable. my room was really clean and the facilities like showers and kitchen was clean too. it was off season so not much crowd, plenty of space in the fridge for my food. Room had everything i needed, including a fan. Laundry services were slightly pricey at $6/wash and $6/dry, bring your own detergent, or buy some during store hours at the little shop near checkin. no vending machine for it! really rocky beach right behind the property, had loads of fun just hanging around.

GGuest UserWhen l arrived at the Motel l found out that when l was doing the booking l should have taken note that there is no reception on site. When l rang the purported site the call was not a friendly one.I took an uber to collect the keys .And soon as l opened the door to my room which was room 9 l was discombobulated. It appeared no house keeping had been done prior to my moving in.The bins were all full of rubbish. The bedding had not been changed .Two McDonald’s empty drinks by the sink area. Two cups and a spoon in the sink see photos.I was then moved to room 7 which appeared to be clean but that inconvenience made me enraged😡

RRhi AnnClose to all our planned activities - Hahei beach (5min walk), Hot Water Beach (8min drive), Cathedral Cove (10min walk to starting point)
The room was clean, and there was a heater but unfortunately we couldn’t use it as the powerpoint was not working. But we were still warm despite it being winter. One thing is there was no hot water for shower.
The kitchen was clean, well stocked with cutlery, cooking utensils, pots and pans (also rice cookers!). Also basic ingredients like oil, sugar, salt.
There were shovels to borrow for the beach which was very useful! We enjoyed our stay here.

GGuest UserThe public area is clean, the location is not far from the central area, and it is very convenient for self-driving tours. The basic facilities are simple but neat and clean. It is very comfortable in autumn, and it may be a bit hot in summer because there is no air conditioning in the room. Overall, I am very satisfied.
