5-Star Hotels in Qinghai, China

The rooms are gorgeous - really nicely decorated with lovely comfortable beds. The staff are also exceptionally helpful. Xiaotian from the Guest Service Center very efficiently located an item we had left and arranged to have it mailed on. The doormen were also very willing to help with bags and help with communicating with taxis. We loved our stay here.

Clean and comfortable in a convenient location. Only two complaints, first somebody left a note (in Chinese) saying that they had washed my socks and they were damp and hanging up when I returned. I am sure they meant well, but I found this creepy and violating. I wasn't aware that it was necessary to specify that hotel staff should please not touch my clothes while I am away from the room. Complaint two is very minor, from the reviews I read I had the impression that the breakfast provided at the hotel was exceptional. It wasn't awful, but the paper cups, limited options and bread situation (it was yellow!?) were disappointing

We were transiting in Golmud. The hotel we booked at first was not very good, so we changed to Hilton. We just looked at the reviews and decided. We thought there would be no star-level hotels in Haixi Prefecture, but the Hilton in Golmud exceeded my expectations. The lobby reception breakfast and guest rooms are all five-star standards, with full marks for details. It is also one of the few hotels with air conditioning. Takeout can be delivered to the door. There is free parking in the underground garage. The breakfast is great. The front desk lady is also very beautiful. The bathroom sanitary ware is also high-standard Duravit and Grohe. The water flow is large and the water pressure is stable, the hot water is sufficient, and there is no sewer smell. The bedding is also very good, the usual King Koil series is comfortable and easy to sleep, which relieves the fatigue of the Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop. I will stay here again if I have the chance. Beautiful Haixi Prefecture, perfect Hilton.

This is one of the better quality options in Golmud (there aren’t many). The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was good. Unfortunately, the service was very poor - there were no functioning USB ports in the room and the hotel was unhelpful - seeming unwilling or unable able to offer a solution. The “room service” is actually takeaway food delivered from outside the hotel but no cutlery/chopsticks was provided with it. When we asked the hotel to provide some, it took nearly 20 minutes to arrive (longer than the food itself), by which time the food was getting cold. We had to ask repeatedly for sufficient drinking water, having only been provided two small bottles for two people. Aside from the poor service, the hotel is in an odd location, surrounding by closed shops and building sites - nowhere near the commercial centre of the city - with nothing within walking distance. With the right management, it could be an excellent hotel, but it’s not quite there at the moment.

Nice , upmarket hotel. Room was spacious and clean. Shower wasn't properly sealed and let water out in the bathroom which was a bit annoying. The hotel has a good gym and swimming pool. Unfortunately the swimming pool was closed for one out of our two day stay because they had to clean it and they didn't let us know in advance which was annoying too. Good breakfast

I will start off by saying that the room and bathroom were well appointed, the staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was delicious. However, whilst the room was generally clean, when I dropped something that subsequently rolled under a fitted unit, I was pretty disgusted to see the dust and filth beneath it. It clearly had not been cleaned for…well…ever? I appreciate that these areas will not be as clean as the more visible parts of the room, however for a five star hotel, this is unacceptable. I do not expect to find dirty tissues and a thick layer of dust and dirt anywhere in my hotel room. But by far the absolute worst part of my stay was the inability to control the temperature in the room whatsoever. The room was so swelteringly hot that despite the comfortable bed, and everything to go with it, I was almost unable to sleep at all. I do not expect this in a five star hotel(and have never experienced it other than here and at anther Wanda hotel in Hohhot), I pay for luxury; controlling the room temperature is a basic requirement that I can even do in a 50 yuan a night hostel dorm. When I asked the staff at reception the following morning I was told the AC wouldn’t be available until after April 15th because ‘it’s cold outside’. Firstly, I am not sleeping outside, I am sleeping inside, on the 22nd floor, where it is anything but cold. Not to mention it was April, not January, even in Xining it is not that cold. Secondly, as a paying guest, in a five star hotel, it should be up to me to decide if it is hot or cold, not the hotel. For this reason, as lovely as the room, staff and breakfast may have been, I would not stay here again. I checked out and moved to the lower rated Hilton, where I could control the room temperature and actually managed to sleep…generally what the whole point of a hotel is.

It was really a pleasant surprise. As soon as I got off the national highway, I could see the hotel in the vast Gobi Desert, surrounded by rolling sand dunes and endless deserts. The sense of loneliness and tranquility of being isolated from the world made me feel like I was on another planet. The hotel rooms are very distinctively designed and very comfortable to live in. The hotel staff are really considerate. From the moment we arrived at the hotel reception, Miss Yami, Miss Lily and Little Brother Jerry at the front desk were very enthusiastic, the service was very considerate, and they responded to any needs in a timely manner. The breakfast was also very good, and my family loved it very much. I strongly recommend a visit to the Lonely Star Gobi Hotel!!!

The hotel is centrally located, facing the central square. Room windows offer stunning views of Xining's city center. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, including a large Sharp TV. The bathroom is spacious, with separate wet and dry areas and a TOTO automatic flush toilet. The lobby counter is stocked with bottles of mineral water and a variety of fruit for guests to enjoy, a truly impressive touch. The breakfast is plentiful and high-quality. The staff are especially welcoming, proactively inquiring about service needs and offering recommendations, a truly valuable touch. The front desk staff are equally proactive and service-minded. The front square is spacious, with free parking, and the security guards are friendly and attentive. A gas station is just around the corner in the alley next to the hotel, making refueling very convenient.

It is the most satisfactory hotel in the Northwest trip! Before checking in, Xiao Ai communicated by phone that the room had been arranged in advance. When checking in, I asked which restaurant was good nearby. After the lobby staff gave detailed directions, they told Xiao Ai to WeChat me the restaurant business card for navigation. The apartment room type is very reasonable, and the living and sleeping space is separated. The most surprising thing is the cloakroom! Washing machines, refrigerators and induction cookers are all equipped, which is very suitable for families staying for several days. Although there were minor problems, the hotel actively solved them with a sincere attitude. Finally, I would like to emphasize the praise of the breakfast waiter: we stayed for three consecutive days. On the first two days, as soon as we entered the restaurant, the waiter asked if we needed coffee or tea and which flavor, but we were not asked on the third day; after we took the meal and sat down, a little girl brought American and cappuccino according to our habit! This is a real surprise! It is the service of a real high-end hotel: remember the needs of the guests carefully. I really didn’t expect that there would be such a sense of service in the relatively closed Northwest region! The hotel breakfast was also very satisfying: I had my favorite cheese, as well as local mutton soup, milk tea... I will choose this place again when I come to Xining in the future, and I will recommend it to my relatives and friends

I thoroughly enjoyed yet another stay at Qinghai Hotel. The friendly bilingual staff went the extra mile bringing my luggage to the room and making sure I was comfortable. The bright clean room, beautiful view with snow capped mountains on the horizon, varied buffet style breakfast with both Chinese and Western cuisine, as well as a long soak in the tub - all these made me regret that the stay this time was only one night.
