Thank you for making this possible!This one-bedroom efficiency condo is located at ground level for easy access and has the best location of any property on Mount Desert Island! You will be able to reach most eastern MDI hiking locations in Acadia National Park within 15 minutes from this downtown Bar Harbor location. When you return home after a day of hiking, you can park in your own off-street parking spot directly in front of your condo... and walk virtually anywhere in The village of Bar Harbor in 10 minutes! This is crucial because ANP has become one of the highest demand locations in the United States: Without dedicated parking it is near impossible to visit the village or dine at one of our many restaurants. Alternately you can bike to the park with the fully charged eBikes and skip the traffic congestion entirely!The Village contains 99% of all restaurants, shops, bars and cafés on the entire island…and they are all within a 10 minute walk from the condo! This small two room efficiency home is appointed with a living room with exceptional natural light, a small dining table for two, and a kitchenette with full-size appliances to prepare your own food. I have the only wood-burning fireplace available in downtown Bar Harbor. I leave puhlenty of firewood on the property. Nothing beats a nice fire after a long day of hiking in Acadia during autumn, winter, and early spring!The bedroom contains a magnificent king-size bed from Helix. The lovely solid wood frame comes from Tuft and Needle. All bedding, including down pillows and comforter are from Boll and Branch- the best available bedding and linen you can buy! I installed a new heat/AC unit in May 2023 so you can keep the window closed at night if you prefer.It also includes a small desk with a 34-inch Apple XDR (HDR) Display, keyboard, and left and right-handed mice as well as an OWC Thunderbolt Pro charging and media station for XD, CFAST, and CF Express cards. I also provide a new B/W laser printer (paper and backup cartridges included) as well as a quality portable Epson document scanner. The internet connection is 350+mbps and is highly reliable. I leverage the best available modem/routers/WIFI from Nighthawk. I have a brand new Herman Miller Aeron chair with a nice glass floor mat.The two new eBikes are very easy to ride and have superb hydraulic brakes too. I use them to access distant locations as well as largely inaccessible carriage roads built by the Duponts and Rockefellers in the 1920s. This is the only property in Bar Harbor to include eBikes with the property rental! The bikes are engineered so that you can allow the bike to assist you while peddling as much or as little as you desire. I have high quality helmets available for your use. Safety first! Enjoy your morning coffee on the sunny patio, fill your day with hiking, biking and sea kayaking, walk 10 minutes to a slew of exceptional restaurants, and return home to watch your favorite movies on my Apple TV(600+ movies to choose from including all 2025 Oscar nominees). The unit also includes a brand new (2024) full-size washer and dryer should you need it. The Art Nook is conveniently located on Cottage Street, in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor. Park your vehicle in the included, off street parking space and walk to all the downtown shops, restaurants and attractions. The grocery store is only a block away, as well as bicycle, kayak, and motor scooter rentals. Bar Island, which is part of Acadia National Park, is just a short walk down the street. Check out the tide chart, and at low tide walk on the beach to go across the sand bar, where you can hike to the top of Bar Island to see a great view of Bar Harbor. The free bus system, the Island Explorer, can be boarded from the Village Green, a short walk from the apartment. It can take you around Acadia National Park, to the top of Cadillac Mountain, to Sand Beach, and to other amazing destinations on the island. Just a couple of blocks from the YMCA and an athletic field that includes basketball and tennis courts as well as baseball and soccer fields. An easy five minute walk to downtown to enjoy the many shops, restaurants, the shore path and the Island Explorer, which provides free rides around the island. If you want to explore on your own, Acadia National Park is just a short five minute drive away. If golf is your thing, Kebo Valley Golf Club is just around the corner.The home has been updated, nicely decorated and has three upstairs bedrooms with a full bath. There is a king bed in the master bedroom, a second bedroom with two twin beds, and bunk beds for the kids in the third bedroom. All three bedrooms have AC units. The first floor contains a lovely living room with sectional sofa, an updated kitchen with a large eat-in island, an additional side table for two, and a full bathroom and a laundry area with washer and dryer. There are many spaces to spread around the house- a deck on the first floor, balcony, a good size back yard (for Bar Harbor standard as space is a huge issue) with fire pit area. The backyard is right next to the town athletic field. The places aforementioned are perfect for lounging anytime during the day or evenings or for conversations/downtime between your adventures.There is an outdoor propane BBQ grill for your cooking delight. There are three large garbage disposal bins- two for regular trash and the third one for recyclable cans and bottles.Enjoy the two smart TV's located in the two master bedrooms.The dining area offers a dining table with seating for 4 and 2 from the peninsula granite kitchen counter top.The kitchen has a granite counter top, and is equipped to cook a full basic meal. We also provide lobster pot and crackers.The house is four seasons with centralized heating system using electric baseboard heater and four heat pumps which provides heating in the winter and cooling in the summer. Once settled in this central location, most guests find they can leave their cars parked for the duration of their stay, avoiding the traffic congestion and parking fees that are common to Bar Harbor in the summer.Although almost everything that you will want to see or do in downtown Bar Harbor is a quick walk away, the property is well-sheltered from the noise, congestion and lights of the downtown. The house offers contemporary features and comforts while also retaining a number of historic touches such plaster walls, hard-wood floors, detailed trim, claw-foot tubs, and ornate light fixtures. The Libby House is equipped with high-speed internet WIFI, digital satellite TV, and a DVD player. A collection of board games, puzzles and several dozen books are also available to help pass the time.The grounds are quite spacious, affording considerable room for children to play. Some of our favorite activities include taking an early morning walk on the shore path, grilling on the back deck, enjoying a cocktail around the firepit, and catching a band concert on the nearby Village Green. During our peak season, guests have access to the entire house, except the cellar, a storage room on the 2nd floor, and the adjacent garage and barn. During our off-season, access to part of the second floor is closed (suspending the use of 1 Queen bedroom, 1 double Twin bedroom and one full bath).
