The location is fine. There's a bus stop right in front that connects to a metro station going straight to Rome’s city center. The place is clean and quiet. Some staff are friendly and helpful. Others seem like they don’t want to be there. No greeting, no eye contact—just a sense of disinterest. Cleaning staff stared at us like we were in their way. No “hello,” just pressure to leave so they could do their job. It might be a cultural thing, but it felt cold. You can rent a water kettle for €15, and you’ll get the money back if it’s returned in good condition. But even that feels like a trust issue with guests. For hot water, a deposit system like that seems excessive. The price matches the service and accommodation. It’s not great, not bad—just okay. Don't expect much more than the basics.

The experience that we had at Fabulous Village was Mixed this time we stayed. We have stayed there before in the past and there were a few instances this time that made the stay not that pleasant. Negatives: First of all, Some of the staff were not helpful and very blunt whenever they were engaging with us, it was not all staff mind you as some of them were quite friendly but we also experienced staff members ignoring us in favour of talking to other native residents and being sometimes rude with how they spoke to us. They also had a habit of not stomping out bad situations that made us uncomfortable. One instance came when we decided to go to the restaurant for some evening food, there was a big table of children and adults sat near us two who repeatedly said racist comments, mocking us and taking the piss while we were eating. the adults were no better, seeing the children behaving in such as manner and not intervening and instead staring at us as though we were doing something wrong. Numerous time the staff came over and saw this play out and not once did anyone offer to help or assist us with this situation which left us annoyed and frustrated with the staff and the residents. Another encounter had us trying to explain to the staff that we had a discount for the buffet breakfast, Instead they insisted that we had to pay the different amount and said the reason was because they changed it recently without notifying residents. As much as we tried to talk to them in a understanding manner, they were blunt and refused to consider our position, even going to far as to not even look at the evidence that I was showing them and just kept refusing. we have since emailed them about this situation when we came back from the trip but so far, we have not received any reply from them at all and are assuming they won't. We couldn't help but feel that when we were there we were singled out and treated differently since we were foreigners and also because my partner is asian so there were other instances where at the swimming pool area the older boys would splash water at us and throw balls towards us for no reason, whereas other residents didnt have this experience at the time, again the staff did nothing to help with this. Finally in terms of the facilities we had a shower head that was spraying out water at different pressures instead of the normal pressure you would be accustomed too so it ment that it was sometimes painful to have a shower. Furthermore, some of the plug sockets in our accommodation were broken already and just not usable throughout our stay there.  Positives: The security guard and the Infopoint staff were very polite, respectful and helpful during our stay which we appreciated after having other experiences with staff that were unpleasant. The accommodation was reasonably clean and spacious enough for two people and the bed was lovely and comfortable.  the swimming pool was lovely apart from the experiences we had mentioned above and the food was very delicious and tasty too.  Overall we did have some positive aspects of this stay but they were overshadowed by the staffs rude and ignorant behaviour during different situations and the constant feeling of subtle and not so subtle racism that we had to endure during our time there, it really made us feel uncomfortable and to the point were we couldn't wait to leave to go to the city and be away from that environment.

The hotel itself is of course very modest From the station the terms are far, 40 minutes walk, only you need to get to the bus or subway. Like the rest of the sights. The area is quiet and there is not so much to be. First they wanted to settle in a room in the basement room. But they entered the position and found a room on the top with enough daylight. The room itself is clean and pleasant, but there is no safe and refrigerator Of the staff, the respirator and the woman who keeps clean. They were very pleasant and cute. The guy sleeps respirator helped with the suitcase because there was no elevator But from the location of course minus.

Very good location to visit the city of Vatican (<10 min walk); accommodation just a few minutes from the St. Peter station Rome - opening the window in the evening you hear the trains pass but nothing very disturbing. The room is generally clean but there is no cleaning service during the stay. Equipment assez basique: air conditioning et secs cheveux dans la chambre. C'est un peu dommage pour un appartement hôtel de ne pas proposer plus d'équipement en cas de séjour prolongé (défriseur, lave-machine...)

Big spacious room, tiny but comfortable bathroom. The room was clean, as you can see there are only some scuff marks from the trolleys of the people previously occupying the room. The location is good. Near a lot of restaurants, near the station but in a safe area, and with a metro station nearby. The only negative thing, no traditional bidet. The staff is super nice and accommodating. Really a positive experience overall for us. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in Rome for 4 days. All our requests were taken into account when checking in!! The room is large, spacious, clean. There is a small kitchen, all the accessories are almost new! The bathroom with a shower and a window is super convenient, and the hair conditioner and shampoo are gorgeous! The staff is very nice and helpful, always happy to help. One minus is that our room was on the 4th floor with a lot of steps up))) But I would be happy to book this hotel again!

Fantastic stay at Villa Aurora rooms whilst I was in Rome. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-furnished. Fully functional air conditioning (rather than those temperamental units in other places) really was a joy to come back to during the heat of a Rome summer. But so far, I've just commented on some features of the room, rather than my experience here. What will endure in my memory as I look back was the warm, classically no-nonsense Italian hospitality I had from Donatella. Throughout my time here, she made sure I was well looked after with room cleaning, bottled water, towels etc. But I most appreciate her assistance in terms of local knowledge. Local knowledge such as a good seafood restaurant , ”Trattoria del pesce” just down the road (which happens to also be in the Michelin guide); such as to not miss out on the Baths of Caracalla; and perhaps more trivially, but arguably also essential, where to do my laundry! Thank you so much for making my stay here such a pleasure Donatella, and for adding both a new Italian word and outlook to my vocabulary - ”tranquilo”.

The owner and his wife were very friendly. When they checked in, the old lady took the map and talked about the attractions for a long time. She was very enthusiastic. There is no elevator, but the owner and his wife will help with the luggage, help carry it up when they check in, help take it out when they leave the store, and also help me call a taxi to the station. Thank you very much for their help. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 If they don’t help me take my 28-inch 32kg suitcase, it will be a huge question. Question. The hotel provides free water and small cakes. In this bottle of water, it is generally sold in Rome. It is really very useful and helps me save my daily breakfast. The air conditioner is very cool, the remote control is in the room, it feels a bit like the overseas version of Gree air conditioner. The speed is good, at least it can support me to upload photos. The only regret is that I was too rushed to take a photo of the facade. Their facade is small and behind a slightly larger hotel with a similar name, a bit like the entrance of a residential building, a bit easy to go wrong. Will stay here again next time!

JJadeThis was such an amazing find! From the friendliness of the staff, to cleanliness of the rooms and the brilliant location - most things were in walking distance and it's close to a metro line. I was here from 29th Dec '24 - 3rd Jan '25. I was initially really sceptical about staying in a hostel... However, to my complete surprise, it was the best decision ever. The staff really made us all feel at home! The bathrooms are cleaned daily. If you want to use a towel, they are available for rent. The beds and drawers are both lockable, and the room I stayed in was a 3 bed female room, which was also locked. On New Years Eve, we were all invited to join in for a special meal. For a low cost, we were served a 3 course home cooked meal! It was absolutely delicious! The diverse group around the table were amazing. We all shared our travel stories and then went off to watch the fireworks at midnight at the colosseum (which is only a 20min walk away). Everyone was super friendly, and I would absolutely recommend Free Hostels Roma to anyone travelling through or alone. What a great way to meet like-minded people!

GGalaxia_The location is OK, but it is a bit far from Termini station if you have heavy luggage. The room was very crowded, with eight or nine people crammed into a small room, and it was flu season with coughs coming one after another, which was a bit scary. I heard from other roommates that there was no hot water and they didn’t dare to take a shower. Fortunately, I was only staying for one night, so I just made do with it. Overall it's not recommended, but if you're passing by and staying for one night it's very cost-effective.

NNatthenutterThis hotels location is great. It's near to everything. I walked to the main tourist attractions. The hotel room was great. I was expecting a single room, but I got a double, always a bonus. The room is a little dated, but I quite liked that. It took me back to when I was a child going down the working man's club with my parents 🤣 keeping it retro , love it! The room had everything I needed. It was clean and light (even had shutters and blacked out curtains, which made the room dark). The staff were helpful & polite, which is all I ask for. The only negatives were the tram line (which could be quite loud and rumble at times) & the hotel tax; they wanted it in cash/euros I didn't have any euros as I didn't think I'd need them, thinking I could pay with everything by card. Other than that, a great stay in Rome.

GGuest UserThe hotel is simple but we knew it was 2 stars. It is very close to the term, central region of Rome. Breakfast was simple but well served. The interior is simple, but good enough, and the air is not the way to control the temperature, because it is automatic. No freezer.

GGuest UserThe place is very nice 🤩 clean, tidy, and full of color. It was originally a church but has been reconstructed into a hostel. I especially liked the relaxation room on the second floor, which was a great spot for a freelancer to work. They also offer a discounted price for breakfast when you check in, but I didn’t find it worth it since the food was mostly sweet.
