Milling Hotel Mini 11
3.6/569 Reviews
The room was clean and bedding was comfortable. I had a small single room and it was nice for a one night stay. It was very convenient to shopping and restaurants, as well as the attractions that I was there to see. The hotel is within walking distance to all the Hans Christian Anderson museums and homes to tour. The Zoo is a nice hike or an easy bus ride away. I did wish there was a staffed desk on property. the lobby seemed deserted and I rarely saw anyone around. The front desk was half a block away in another hotel. While I didn't need anything I wonder if I would have gotten attention if I had needed it. The breakfast was excellent though and a great start to a busy day sightseeing.
Hotel Cabinn Vejle

Never been in Vejle before and this hotel was booked by a friend. I understand that the rooms are rather small, but the captain room, with twin beds, was fine. Breakfast was good. Vejle is small, so you can walk everywhere from here. The bus/train station is behind the hotel and for €10 you have a bus that goes very regularly to Billund Airport. You can pay with cash on the bus, € and DKK. I paid everywhere with CC, and the bush with cash €, so did not have to buy DKK at all.

Breakfast is not bad. The room is wide and the sanitary conditions are ok. Good location.
Cabinn Odense
3.9/5122 Reviews
Cabinn is a budget hotel chain with locations across Denmark. Odense has no hostels so I was able to book an Economy Room at Cabinn for a very good price. Location is fantastic, very close to the heart of Odense and minutes away from the train station. Very easy to find. Economy Room is very small. I don’t think that should be surprising but please look at photos to manage expectations. For one person it was fine but I’m also used to hostels and other tight spaces. You can hear people use the shower in rooms around you too but not a lot noise from the neighboring rooms. Wifi was excellent, so strong, water pressure was fantastic too. Little street and train station noise as well. FYI: around check out, the elevators can get very busy and lead to a long wait, so allow extra time. Staff was fine, hair dryer rental is 100 DKK which is returned to you. My only complaint was the bathroom. It’s a combo shower and toilet/sink and the shower curtain can get attached to you and become annoying. The bathroom always gets soaked so be prepared with what you have inside. I would also add a second mirror to the room so one isn’t reliant on the small bathroom. Otherwise I had a good stay and would stay again there and with the chain.
Kolding Sportel

The room was clean and sports. I also watched the handball scene on weekends. The nearby green park was full of streams and suitable for hiking. But there are no restaurants to choose from around, but fortunately there is a supermarket, you can buy it yourself for DIY.
Danhostel Odense City

Good value and breakfast included. It's so close to the station. The breakfast was delicious, but unfortunately I didn't eat it the first day. The room is distinctive, and the antique furniture is so connotative
Pulzion - Sportshotel

We stayed here after a tortuous journey up through Germany and were relieved to find it was exactly as promised - clean and functional with comfy beds. Check-in was easy despite arriving late - we were sent a text with a key code. Well-located, close to both highways and the city centre, this is a great no-frills transit hotel, set in sports grounds.
Weis Stue
4.2/599 Reviews
Weis Stue began as an inn hotel in 1704, and when you check into the rooms above the restaurant, you step back into time. You open your room door with a huge, old-fashioned metal key, and set it down on an old iron room stove repurposed into a lamp table. Some of original wood wall panels are still in place, coated with hundreds of years of paint, and if the furniture isn’t original, it at least appears to be very old (Mattresses are new and fresh, however). Out the window is a wonderful view of the old Viking town’s main market square and historic Ribe cathedral, built in 1150. That said, this is not an inn for divas: the (clean, modern) bath and shower are shared, and noise insulation is non-existent. There are heavy wooden doors slamming all over the place, the restaurant downstairs is open until 10pm with outdoor seating in the summer, and the bells from the cathedral next door begin at 7:45 am. During the long Danish winter, the rooms are rather dark. That said, as a history lover I found it to be a fun and memorable experience. This inn is also a great place for solo travellers, as the inn has rooms for one at a slightly lower price. People with mobility problems may have trouble getting up the steep wooden stairs. I also recommend the restaurant downstairs, which somehow manages to be touristy but still very, very good. I like the fried fish platter with Danish rye bread, and in summer the restaurant also serves excellent homemade lemonade. Book a table during the busy tourist season if you want to eat there.
