3-Star Hotels in Gifu Prefecture, Japan

Brand new hotel with small but comfortable and clean rooms. It's a great base to explore the Gifu area. There is parking space available for extra charge. The breakfast is good but quite repetitive if you stay for several nights. The staff at breakfast lacks politeness and it's not very efficient. There is often food missing in the buffet. The hotel has a private Onsen for guests which is very good and convenient. The Onsen facilities are very clean. Staff is polite in general.

Very nice and clean hotel, bed was super comfortable and it is very convenient for those who are driving. While there’s no breakfast, we bought our own food from the convenience stores and ate at at the dining table in the communal area.

The most satisfying accommodation on this trip, must be praised 👍🏻 1 Location: On the edge of the hot spring river, very quiet and cozy, occasionally hear the beautiful sound of the stream, pleasant and comfortable. 2 Environment: A very Japanese-style cabin structure, exquisite and restrained. The interior is a combination of fresh logs and white walls, which is simple and atmospheric. The space is instantly spacious, bright, clean and tidy. 3 Details: The front desk waiter is warm, polite, meticulous and hospitable👍🏻. A tea table is set at the door on the second floor, which is very convenient for guests to eat. A warm and nutritious breakfast brings a good mood for a day's travel. 4 Value-added: The store gives each guest a warm baby + socks, which is considerate❤️ Looking forward to the next trip to Gero, I will choose Toraya👍🏻

Very good location, you arrive at the station and just on the other side of the road - great if you plan to arrive in the evening. And, the touristic part of the city is just at walking distance. The staff is very friendly and helpful. To crown it all, it has a public bath for guests.

The room is quite big and clean. It is a bit old, but the maintenance is quite good. The strange thing is the height of the wash basin, which is too low. You have to bend down to wash your hands, which is too tiring. I booked a one-night stay and two-meals package, but the service is not good compared to traditional hot spring hotels. The meals are not delivered to the room, and you need to eat in the restaurant, which feels a level lower. The quality of the food is not bad, especially the Hida beef, which is very tender and melts in your mouth. It is juicy and the desserts are also delicious. The breakfast is also quite rich, but I am not used to eating white rice so early in the morning. The hotel is very close to the cable car, 1 minute away, and the hot spring facilities are also OK. If you go to the Shinhotaka cable car, it is recommended to stay for one night.

Friendly staff, clean spacious rooms. The building is a bit outdated but that didn't bother me at all. Amazing breakfast with an enormous variety of tasty options. Gorgeous public bath on the top floor.

Already the third time to stay. I think this is a niche hotel, suitable for travelers who are willing or want to stay in the mountains in the middle of nowhere and are not looking for the services or facilities provided by the hotel. There really aren't any other buildings/facilities nearby (within walking distance) (unless you plan on hiking or walking up/down the mountain for 20 minutes). If you don’t drive by yourself, there are only buses that run every hour. It does not have gorgeous/elegant decoration, nor advanced/luxury facilities; but if you like historical hotels and/or unique accommodation experiences, you may want to take a hard look at the map and consider whether you are interested in giving it a try .

We made a wrong booking, initial plan was to stay in Nagoya but… sigh! However, the Hotel was new and good. Service was ok except we overlooked to leave the “clean my room” sign on the door outside, resulted in room not being cleaned. You will find the best restaurant in town, “McDonald“ just right below the hotel. Hotel front office employee was not well versed in an introducing best route to the attractions I.e. Shirakawa-go, a bit surprised!

It is a hotel where you can experience traditional style of Japanese room and shared onsen. The hotel was clean, both in the room and shared spaces. Amenities provided were sufficient. It is very close to the Hida village (open-aired museum) which is very nice, though a bit far from the city center where located other attractions. So, it is more recommended for those travelers who have a car to drive around. The breakfasts came in traditional hida style set (i guess), and were delicious, especially the hoba miso. The staff are nice and friendly too! Love it!
