The bar to have drinks in the evening is filthy, dirty table linens that are not linens, had marks that has been used and spilt drinks or food. The chairs and table feels and looks dirty, we took our drinks in our room instead. The breakfast has no cooked food just hard boiled eggs, bread are hard, people have to queue to wait to be served by 1 waiter, you cannot take from the table, waiter has to serve even coffee. It’s scary around the hotel, police are always there, dodgy shops around. Stay nearby or at hotels around Ovo Castle. It’s too dirty aroung Gibraldi station where this hotel is located.

Plebiscito
Terrible experience with this hotel. After confirming the booking and arriving are the area the owner disappears for hours, doesn’t answer texts or phone calls and doesn’t leave anybody in the property to check us in we had to plead with locals to help us get the owners phone number. In addition, when we checked us we had to deal with non English speakers (how do you rent properties internationally without being able to communicate?) and also demanded tax payment in cash even though they carried no change so we ended up paying more than needed. Property itself very nice and clean but I recommend to stay away.
Palazzo Adele

In my opinion, Palazzo Adele is the best place we ever stayed in. If we go to Ercolano again, it would be our only choice. The building is very elegant. The terrace on the 2nd floor (or 1st floor in Europe) is spacious. The parking is gated, only opened with a key fob. The room is spotless; I even feel comfortable walking on the floor barefooted. The owner is such a nice guy! When we arrived, he gave us a warm greeting. He also provided us with some great advice on how to go to visit Vesuvius and Pompeii, as well as where to eat. In fact, he printed out some useful information, which became our guidebook in the following few days. We went to the Herculaneum Site as he suggested, spent nearly 2 hours there, only covered 60% of the whole place. We followed his instruction to purchase the tickets to Vesuvius, and had a great trip there. We asked about restaurant, he suggested a few of them. We tried the best one on the list, Bistrot Italia, fantastic food, affordable price, nice wine, and impressive service. It was so good that on the day we left, we went there again. The location of Palazzo Adele is great! Walking distance to almost everywhere (the train station, the Herculaneum Park, restaurants, The Royal Palace of Portici, oh and an amazing gelato place). The neighborhood is nice. I remembered we walked through a short tunnel and there was not even a slight trace of urine smell in the air, which was very, very impressive. All in all, Palazzo Adele is a great place to stay. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the Naples and Pompeii area.
Hotel Il Faro

I would think with the pictures showing a pool and daybeds these would be free but when we got there they told us they are 15euro each day to use even though we are hotel guests. The reason we chose a hotel with a pool rather than paying for 1 at the beach. Very disappointed. The showers are very small we aren’t big people and found it hard showering. Balcony was good as could rinse clothes and dry outside but just placed over the chairs. No kettle in the room but can get free coffee with breakfast. Breakfast was included which was great. Scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, danishes, juice and coffee. Location was great coming off the ferry as right at the port with luggage. If going to town it’s a big stair case up to the top or you can walk along the beach to the lift down the road which is 2 euro to use. The bar upstairs has amazing sunsets, lovely watching the sun go down and they have a DJ playing lovely slow singing music which all generations could enjoy. The drinks are slightly priced at the bar though. The restaurant at bottom of hotel was great. 7 euro Margherita pizza and you get 10% off being a hotel guest. I would probably next time stay in town as closer to everything but I like walking and hiking for exercise so the big staircase worked for me but wouldn’t for lots of people. I think the hotel may of said they have free taxi to town but not 100 % sure.

Took my dad on a trip to Italy for his birthday and the first night of our stay couldn't have gone better here. Margrita was so welcoming and friendly, offering us a glass of juice or water upon arrival. She then gave us a plethora of different croissants to choose for as part of the breakfast. There was a classic course of buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes, then a flavoured croissant, and a plate of fresh fruit. The other people staying there said it was the best breakfast ever, and to be honest, I agree. The rooms were incredibly tidy and neat, complete with a fridge to store water for enduring the heat (air con worked a treat, and there were also complimentary water bottles on our first night). The views from the little balconys in the common areas were beautiful overlooking the lemon trees. The location was great, about a 15 minute walk to the beach, which was perfect for us as we were out of the hustle and bustle. And about a 10 minute walk from the station when we arrived. All in all 10/10 honestly, and I don't usually leave reviews but felt the need to do this place and margrita justice! 😊

The three stars deserve only a ladies at the reception that has provided us a more spacious room than we booked. For breakfast, the room is small, no food is filled in time (for example, if juice is over, drink water or other, no one brings it). Problems with the elevator. And the eternal run from one wing to another, with the unworkable elevator it's not okay when you're with the child, and you still have to pay 10 cents a time for it. On the last day, the child was furled toward that she was dumped in the room, although she got into the pond behind the inactive elevator. We won't be back here.

This hotel (homestay) really makes me love and hate. I think most of the friends who have lived should feel the same as me. First of all, Italians love life too much, resulting in them going to work to fish, and getting off work is the most active. So you must see the check in time, after their working hours, there is really no one at the front desk. This is the first time I have to knock on the blackboard, the important thing is said three times! ! ! And for a homestay of about 2,800 yuan, I have expectations for the service and room facilities. It is not that opening the window has a good view, which can be used as a reason for all sloppyness. 1. In addition to breakfast, there is no service. 14~ 18:30, you must check in. After this time, I am sorry, we are going to get off work. If the little partner is not good at the time, don't book, no refund will be given if you don't check in. 2. Call the hotel in advance, add the Whatsapp contact information, if you are really late, send your passport to the front desk, let him handle it remotely, and put the key in the password box at the door. 3. The traffic is extremely inconvenient. The hotel is in the middle of an extremely busy tunnel and cannot park. It is a big problem to get off the luggage. Parking will be arranged in another hotel 2km. It is very hard to drag luggage on the mountain road. The hotel is on the 4th floor. There is no elevator. The front desk brother will never help you. It is a finger that will not move. And the hotel does not have a public toilet, if you check out, or have not checked in, there is no place to go to the toilet. 4. The room is at the level of 3 stars in Europe, clean. There are no highlights. There is a terrace on the 4th floor. It is locked. It is not theirs. It belongs to other hotels. 5. The location is good, the scenery is beautiful when you open the window, the cliff sea scenery, the city center, the entrance of the ancient town. 6, because there is no place to eat breakfast, so breakfast will have a brand, check what you want to eat, is coffee, yogurt, cereal, several kinds of bread, even hot eggs. Parking costs 50 euros for half a day 8. I have to check out at 10 am. I have never seen the so-called high-end hotel. The check out time is 10 o'clock. If I don't leave, he will knock on the door and urge you every 10 minutes. Let's say there are still many choices, I suggest you be cautious

The B&B was in a great location very close to the train station and luggage storage lockers. The room was lovely with a usable balcony at both windows. It was a reasonable sized room with an en suite. The breakfast was a basic continental with bread, croissants, jams and coffee but it was plenty to keep you going. The check in process after 8pm was a bit tricky, the phone number on the gate downstairs is an unavailable number. Thankfully a nice man let us through the gate but we had to walk up each level until we found the right door withing the apartment block. The number on that was correct and someone came to check us in within 10 mins. It was a nice, quiet room with a fridge as well. Very close to the centre for meeting points for activities such as to Pompei/Vesuvius etc. I would stay here again in future, again you get what you pay for, it is budget accomodation.
