Iceland's second largest city, the hotel is located on the commercial street. Cars cannot be driven in front of the door, and cars can only be parked on the back road. The hotel reception and bar are in the same place, the environment is a bit messy, there is a small elevator upstairs, which is more convenient. I booked several rooms, some large and some small, and each room is decorated differently, resulting in a variety of shelves for storage. But overall it is relatively clean. Because there is a bar downstairs, it is a little noisy when the window is opened, and the sound insulation of the window is good.
Great location by the Lake Myvate, clean, spacious room with beautiful view of the lake and the craters. Great breakfast selection too, love the waffle making self-service station. Highly recommended hotel in the area.
If you chase the aurora, you can take it downstairs in the hotel. It is a little bit away from the city center and there is less light pollution, but it is only a few minutes away to drive to the check-in point, which is very convenient. Good service and hot food. Basically satisfied.
The hotel is halfway up the mountain, and you can see the whole mountain through the window. It's not far from Akureyri's pedestrian street, and it takes 10 minutes to walk there. There seems to be a citizen hot spring bath next to the hotel, and there is a parking lot downstairs, which is quite convenient.
The Guesthouse Básar is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. Visitors to Grimsey will find that the Guesthouse Básar is a fantastic accommodation choice. Famous local attractions Fiske Monument, Grímsey and Miðgarðakirkja Church, can all be reached with a short walk. At the end of a busy day, travelers can unwind and relax in the hotel or go out and enjoy the city. For those driving themselves, parking is provided on site. When it comes to Grimsey hotels, the Guesthouse Básar is highly regarded for its excellent facilities.
Guesthouse in ottima posizione, pulita, camere accoglienti.
The cabin is an impressive stop during this trip around the island. I went to the Mihu Hot Spring first. It was absolutely niche and the facilities were very good. Because there were few people, it was very good. The cabin was very close. The front desk and the room were separated from the main road. It was very convenient to drive. Although the room is not big, it has floor heating. It is ice and snow outside, but the room is warm. Next to the front desk is the restaurant and cattle farm. Diners can watch the cows while eating, and the door of the cow shed also says welcome to visit. If you don’t dislike the taste, you can enter and get in touch with the cows. Dinner at the hotel, the taste is quite good, the ”Iceland borscht soup was rated as the best soup around the island. After dinner, we also drove to the nearby highlands to shoot the only aurora on this trip. The disadvantage of this hotel is that the room is not soundproof. But it is also a welcome and welcome flaw in the structure of the cabin that is returning to the real world.
The hotel is right by the sea in Akreli. There is a little sea view, the building is also very distinctive, and the front desk staff is particularly enthusiastic. The room was clean and tidy. Disadvantages The room is too small, almost no 28-inch box can be opened, and the smell of hot water in the bath is bigger than other places. Luckily I encountered the aurora at the entrance of the hotel! !
The location is between Mihu and Husavic. There is a petrol station and supermarket nearby. (That supermarket is the highest price of the supermarket I have ever experienced). In addition to the location, I am very satisfied. I also saw the aurora at night.

GGuest UserUpon arrival at the apartment, the reception is no longer staffed. On the door hangs a phone number where you can reach the apartment. The person on the other side of the phone first asks us why we do not use the code that we should have received by e-mail. Checked E-Mail Account - mentioned E-mail missing. According to the apartment, this would be sent two days in advance. Since we had not booked two days in advance - impossible.
So now checked in by phone, everything ok.
On to the first real point of criticism.
When opening the room door, a strong smell hits you, which tries to cover the bathroom smell - long airing with a wide open window creates some relief.
When checking the bed, one finds reddish, brownish stains on the bed cover - very unattractive.
We were accommodated in room 25. The location is unfortunately unfavorable. The room gets the full street noises.
Now to our biggest point of criticism: from about 00:30am until after 02:00am, an Asian tour group turned night into day! The hotel cannot be held responsible for human stupidity and antisocial behavior such as door slamming, loud talking and laughing in the corridors. Such behavior can unfortunately happen anytime and anywhere, but an entrance door that slams into the lock so loudly every single time that everyone in the hotel must hear it and you are always startled out of your sleep is simply unacceptable.
Last but not least, the tour group had finished their party - thank goodness, and you thought peace would turn in, the small refrigerator inside the room started up. Humming loudly, it wouldn't let you fall asleep for another perceived eternity.
All in all, this was unfortunately the worst and most nerve-wracking accommodation of our 15-day Iceland tour so far. We can not recommend this apartment, nor would we come back again.
YYu Kiat EugeneGreat location by the Lake Myvate, clean, spacious room with beautiful view of the lake and the craters. Great breakfast selection too, love the waffle making self-service station. Highly recommended hotel in the area.
GGuest UserAkureyri is the largest city in the northern region. The K16 Hotel is in an excellent location, facing the parking lot of the cathedral. It is just a slope with a high and low drop. There is a clearly marked dedicated parking space at the door of the hotel. Parking is free. The room is clean and tidy. We booked a room with a twin bed and a sofa bed. The area of one bedroom and one living room is not small. The most important thing is that there is a small kitchen where you can cook by yourself. Cooking utensils, bowls, and tableware are all available. The hotel is within walking distance of the beach and the commercial street. We chose Japanese food for dinner on the first day. It is only a three-to-five minute walk from the hotel. It should be said that it is a high-quality hotel option for accommodation in Akureyri. It’s a pity that the cathedral was closed to the public for two days because there was a funeral held there. We could only walk around outside and couldn’t visit inside.
GGIN77The room is very small and has nothing. The location is good, the service is OK, and next to it is Lake Mihai and a gas station. It is very convenient to take a break. I recommend it. There is no better choice.
YYIVery close to Lake Mi, the facilities are generally simple, the room size is small, the room has three single beds, three bedside tables, one table, two chairs, one pool, nothing more. The kitchen and bathroom are shared and slightly inconvenient. The kitchen has shared kitchen utensils and cutlery. The cooktop is small and can only be cooked for one time. The breakfast at the hotel is very good for several varieties. Compared to other parts of Iceland, the price of this hotel is high (scenic price), but the accommodation service provided is too general (farm level). In addition, there are many black flying insects in the area around Mihu in summer, and the face is rushing to the body. It feels very bad. Now I think of goose bumps. Summer travel is not recommended to live near Mihu, which is very expensive. Not comfortable.
MMiguelThe hotel is very good. The staff is very pleasant. It explains how to move through the area and any doubt you can have
The room is very good, wide and clean

AAnonymous UserIt is a whole unit which faces a beautiful mountain. Compact and it has what we need. It's a pity we didn't have the time to enjoy the jacuzzi. It will be great if the pillows can be more firmer.
GGuest UserVery clean place with a nice large kitchen and living space. Really enjoyed the stay. The room is a little small but good enough for two. Location is good, near netto and the whale watching.
