We had a good stay at Hotel Arthur. The location was pretty convenient for us - it was a 5 minute walk from Helsinki's Central Station for platforms going to/from the airport, tram service was nearby and it was within a 15-20 minute walk of everything we wanted to see in Helsinki. We booked this hotel because it was inexpensive for our stay and it was pretty pleasant. The breakfast was included with our stay and was welcome as well.
We booked a twin room with two twin beds. The beds were comfy and we found extra pillows in the closet. We had a really good sleep each night at the hotel because it was very quiet. The room had a couple of chairs including a pretty big cushioned one, a desk and a TV that was mounted high. The room could be a little better with the cleaning of the tv remote and kettle but the beds and bathroom were fine. The hotel is over 100 years old and we felt the hotel showed its age the most in the room because there are some renovations that have been done over the years and it is pretty evident . Our room only had plug-ins at the desk and there was none near the night stand by the beds. The closets were in need of some maintenance because the door tracks were a bit stiff, the floor was peeling and the drywall in the back was loose. The shower used to have sliding doors as evident by the track that wasn't removed but the shower had a curtain that was too short and the floor squeegee was there for a reason because the water went everywhere when I showered. Shower pressure was fine and it was easy to get plenty of hot water. You may want to consider bringing your own bath products because the shower gel was meant for hand soap, body wash and shampoo.
The hotel has saunas that you can book upon request. If you book your hotel reservation directly through the hotel you can get a discounted rate of 8 euros per person for the sauna but if you book through another website it is 10 euros per person. There is a nicer sauna that is shown in the pictures of the hotel but it fills up pretty quickly. We got the other sauna and it was ok but was in need of some cleaning because previous guests left their wet towels all over the place instead of in the towel bin located under a bench. We felt it was silly to charge a different rate if you booked through another platform because we wouldn't have heard of this hotel if we didn't use the platform we used!
The breakfast was pretty standard and I had a nice English breakfast each day from the buffet. The mushrooms, sausage and hash browns were my favourite but I grew to enjoy the scrambled eggs during my stay because they add something to it that I'm not used to. They also had yoghurt, cereals, cold cut meats, fruit and cheese amongst other standard breakfast staples. They had a juice dispenser, a small selection of tea and black coffee. They also had items that you could pay for at the bar like a cappuccino or chocolate chip muffin.
The reception area was pretty good. They had luggage storage and quite a few chairs to sit in. My wife liked their small souvenir shop and got some cute post cards. The staff are very helpful and can provide recommendations for the city. The reception also provide tea and sugar for your room and you can pick up your rations daily. They do not provide regular cleaning for the rooms but you can arrange cleaning or new towels through reception.
There are plenty of sights to see nearby as well as cafes, restaurants and shopping malls. The tram is a short walk away and that was very convenient for us as we did a day trip to Tallinn using the ferries to go across the sea.
We booked this hotel because it was affordable in a pretty expensive city and we would still recommend it if the pieces are fair. It was a good place to sleep and unwind after each day we spent exploring the area.
There is a shuttle bus from the airport, which you can get on at bus stop 42. It seems to run about every 30 minutes, which is helpful.
Check-in was smooth, and all you had to do was give your date of birth, passport number, address, name of your companion, and sign. The receptionist also spoke slowly in English, so I was able to understand, thank you.
After that, I asked if there was hot water and printed out my boarding pass, and when I went down the stairs, there was a water boiler and a microwave, so I used them, and a male staff member also said I could use a fork, so I was able to eat instant noodles for dinner.
They also readily agreed to print my boarding pass, which was very helpful.
As other people have written in their reviews, it's a problem that the last shuttle bus to the airport is at 8:55, and I wish it would run at least until check-out time.
But in Helsinki, I was able to call a taxi with Uber, so it was okay, it was only 9€!
It was easily accessible from tram line 3, and it was a perfect location for sightseeing in the city as it was about a block away from the nearest stop.
There are several restaurants and cafes nearby, so you don't have to worry about eating near the hotel.
A supermarket is also nearby.
I arrived at around 8:00 to leave my luggage for the time being because I had an early morning flight, but they prepared my room right away.
The receptionists are very kind.
The rooms are very clean.
I stayed on December 14th, but there was already a lot of snow outside and the temperature was -7°C even during the day.
The room was warm and comfortable with a panel heater. I think it's hot at night.
I was able to rest quietly at night because it does not face the main street or the tram road.
Breakfast is simple and sufficient.
There were breads, yogurts, cinnamon rolls, flakes, salads, bacon, scrambled eggs, fruit and more.
I would like to use it again next time.
Great hotel. Super clean and efficient. You have everything you need-microwave, fridge, kettle.
Oh well, if you are Gen X and above, you will enjoy this place. Self check in n out. Minimal style but I have to say it again..very very clean n efficient.
You can check in n out through machine so no wait. You can buy your food n eat there anytime you want. Some nice restaurants also locate nearby. But we love the cost vibe of the hotel.
Staffs are very friendly as well. They actually work hard to keep the hotel clean n meet all customer needs.
The hotel is very close to Hakaniemi market.lots of nice food there. Also,S market n K market if you want to buy some ready to eat meal at the hotel.
So,I highly recommend Citybox Helsinki for everyone !

Note) Self check-in. After completing payment, the hotel will send you an email with your room number and auto-lock passcode directly from the hotel along with your reservation completion. This time, several other people did not receive the email, and the room number was unknown until the day of the event. I was unable to even enter the hotel.
I managed to enter through the hotel entrance, and there was a handset for inquiries next to the elevator, so I was able to communicate directly with the hotel. I explained the situation and somehow managed to get the room number and passcode sent to me by email on the spot, and I was able to check in successfully.
If you do not receive an email several days after completing payment, it is wise to take some action yourself.
(Fortunately, several people who were there helped me and I was able to manage it, but depending on the time of day, there may not be anyone there, so be careful. I hope this will be helpful in the future.)
There is also a kettle and microwave in the room.

Very central location just opposite the famous Stockmann department stall. Easily walkable to many attractions, museums, shopping areas and restaurants. About 10mins walk to Helsinki Central Station which links up to the airport through rail. Our room (triple room) was quite spacious and well-furnished. Hotel also allowed us to place luggage in cabinets that comes with its own key, free of charge, after we checked out.

BBrandorkslashdonDon’t ever book this on Trip! If you want to stay here, book it on its official website instead because there is no front desk as you will receive a code for you to check in instead. I had to make a roaming international call to get my PIN code because Trip didn’t send it to me and it cost me €16 to make that call, not to mention the confusion and hassle. Management should also take blame for this and ensure that if the bookings are made through third party apps, that the customer properly gets the information required.
The room itself was very clean and tidy and the location was great as well. There’s a nice Chinese restaurant called Nanking and some other nice bookstores, cat cafe, *** friendly bar etc in the neighbourhood.
DDato Ar AsriFirstly, being an avid traveller, I would say this apartment was one of the best accommodation that I have stayed so far. The location, the room condition, facilities, all in good condition. There are only this 4 issues the host need to solve:
1. Accessibility, there steps about 4 feet that we need to access before we could use the lift to the 3rd floor. This was problem for us with many luggage (for handicapped ppl as well)
2. There were 2 panels for PIN number, host should clearly explain which one to use (maybe using picture).
3. The block for the apartment unit should be clearly identified using map
4. Host to provide email address and whatsapp phone number for easy communication.

GGuest UserIt is almost completely renovated and self-service is convenient and fast. The front desk staff are also very friendly and professional. The room is very well equipped. And the price is not high, highly recommended
亦亦朋Very close to Malmi train station. I arrived early from the airport. There is no 24-hour front desk service and the door was closed. It was cold, so I sat in the lobby of the nearby PRISMA shopping mall for a long time. It was quite warm there. The apartment facilities are good. The bathroom has floor heating, but the pump is not very effective. When I fried bacon, it triggered the pre-fire detector. A staff came to check it out. The laundry, drying and sauna are all free, which is great.
GGuest UserI had to wait in front on the hotel for two hours because they didn’t send me the information for self-check in. Facilities and price were good
