If you're after a no-frills, business-first stay in Kuching, Raia Hotel gets the job done. Rooms are surprisingly spacious for the price (RM458 for 2 nights—yes, really), making it a solid pick for short work trips or budget-conscious travelers.
The view? Let's just say the ongoing construction outside isn’t exactly postcard material. But if you're mostly indoors or in meetings, it won’t bother you much.
Location-wise, it’s about a 20-minute Grab ride to the city center—not ideal, but manageable given the affordability. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise: local staples like kolo mee and nasi lemak hit the spot.
Overall, it’s not a resort, but it doesn’t pretend to be. For the price, space, and decent local breakfast, I’d come back again—just maybe not for the scenery.
Overall, it was a great stay 👍🏻the staff were friendly, the food was delicious, the room was comfortable, and the amenities were complete. I also loved the beautiful view. However, I noticed a false eyelash on the blanket on my last day, which made me unsure whether the sheets or blanket had been changed before my stay 😬especially since I don’t use false eyelashes. Cleanliness could be improved slightly. Also, it would be even better if the breakfast had more variety. Still, I would recommend this hotel.
Friendly staffs & allow early check in provided room available that day. Room a bit small & in my opinion, sofa & coffee table not necessary so that got place to put big luggage. Love the bathroom tiles colours but wardrobe inside the bathroom seem inappropriate. Anyway comfort & nice stay at this hotel.

We stayed here for a long weekend staycation. The room was very spacious with a beautiful view, especially at night. I also enjoyed the TV, which had plenty of free movies to choose from.
However, the toilet was a bit smelly and not very clean, which was disappointing. The room also wasn’t very soundproof. We could hear kids playing and screaming in the next room quite clearly.
Breakfast didn’t have many options, but the food served was still delicious.
Overall, I think this hotel is a good choice for tourists who want convenience and a nice view, but maybe not the best option if you’re looking for a quiet or intimate vacation.
We stayed on the fifth floor, and the room was facing the river. Overall, there is no issue in the room. Breakfast is moderate, and the same goes for staff services.
pros:
- bed/pillow very comfy!!
- spacious room
- clean
- smart tv
- have mini fridge
- eatery place within walking distance just behind hotel, hotel also have in house cafe
cons
- showerhead attached together with bath tub, water can get messy and a bit slippery, wished they have seperate space for shower
- wifi slow
- room a bit dark as they use yellow lighting
overall ok, access card a bit troublesome if you dont know how to use
rating: 8/10
The place was really clean and looks exactly in the pictures. Check-in and check-out process was very smooth, and the location is very close to the shopping mall. Would definitely revisit here when I have other business trips.
overall comfortable stay! check in was smooth, parking was adequate. swimming pool was nice and near to the mall. breakfast hv good option but surely can be improved. the room can also be further upgrade as still look a bit old style.
Overall I am satisfied with the hotel services and room facilities. Just one comment on the shower room drainage system. The drainage system seem like got some issue where the water cannot be flush down. It need some time to let the water flush down. Thats mean you need to on and off the water when showering. Hopefully can improve it.

GGuest UserVery nice hotel and friendly warm welcome from the front desk staff..and we're enjoy with the swimming pool and sauna too!☺️👍
FFeireneA perfect spot for a short getaway from the city. While the resort shows some signs of age, the facilities are well maintained. The room was spacious, and the beach offered a relaxing atmosphere. We had a wonderful and enjoyable stay! Ohh, the resort offered some activities for families too!
GGuest UserDownside: no chair provided at dressing table which was inconvenient if you are business traveller. I have a problem with door access and they need to call technician to sort it out.
upside: large and cosy room.
RRanggasamyThe hotel is surrounded by food stalls. The room is neat and clean. The price is very reasonable for a high-rated hotel. The way hotel welcomes you, upon check-in, makes you feel truly appreciated.
GGuest UserThe best place to stay in Miri. Definitely no doubt about it. The standard room type was clean with a panoramic view, facing the south China Sea. The bathroom showers very good and so powerful. The bed was soft and clean. Except for the pillows. I should have changed to a soft one.
However, the morning breakfast was superbly delicious and we enjoy it every moment especially the nasi goreng.
GGuest UserWe enjoyed our stay at mega hotel. My kids love it very much especially the swimming pool makes them don't want to fly back to Johor. Thanks Mega Hotel for your good services while we are there. The Food for room services also Great. I ate the Laksa sarawak it was marvellous taste.

GGuest UserGood location and great service 👍
The rooms are very clean and tidy. Good price and good quality service 👌. Gym and swimming pool very easy to access. Around 10 minutes drive 🚗 with Grabs. Wana try local food?? just cross the road, plenty place for food and beverage ☕️. Plenty choices, variety and cheap! Overall..5 stars 🌟 🤩 ✨️ for location, price and service. Well done!
AAnonymous UserFor those who may not know, the lobby is located on level 2 and is accessible by lift. The room I stayed in was very spacious; however, the cleanliness could be improved, as there were stains on the white duvet cover. I was on the 10th floor, and it was quiet at night, despite being in the city center. A water purifier is available along the corridor, and cooking utensils are provided, so you can prepare your own meals if you'd like. The Spring Shopping Mall is just opposite the hotel and can be easily accessed via a skybridge.
