When I booked, I specifically requested a quiet room, but the location they gave us was simply unbelievable. The room service staff were very good, I'll give them that, but it was so noisy. The soundproofing is truly terrible. I'm not talking about airplanes flying overhead; it's the constant noise from the hallway that's too loud, like a sports meet is happening right outside! It was supposed to be a family room, but there was no kids' club access, no app, and no screen mirroring! The bed was indeed comfortable, but what's going on with the air conditioning? When we first arrived, it was set to cool, but in the middle of the night, we woke up sweating because it was blowing hot air? Did you randomly adjust it for us? We couldn't even control it ourselves. The smart assistant just kept saying 'I'm here' but couldn't adjust the AC or open the curtains! Is this really a smart room? Only the cleanliness and bed comfort were somewhat satisfactory. The BBQ downstairs was both expensive and terrible!

My partner and I came to Yunnan for our honeymoon during the off-peak season. The front desk lady added me on WeChat beforehand to ask about our preferences and any special requirements. The concierge even thoughtfully sent us directions to the hotel. I have to say, Kunming really has so much delicious food! It's our first time here, and it feels like we could spend several days just exploring this area.
**Facilities:** The overall furnishings are quite tasteful. Although the decor and history of this place feel quite dated, you can tell a lot of effort went into it. All the furniture is made of rosewood, and it's clear that the design of the pavilions, terraces, and soft furnishings perfectly aligns with Chinese aesthetics. It's truly beautiful, as if every scene was specifically designed by a professional.
There's a really, really large executive lounge that's perfect for photos – it feels more like an upscale business club. It's also great for families and friends! Every single staff member's service was truly exceptional. They enthusiastically greeted us every time they saw us 😄 It was a very, very satisfying experience!

Just pulled up to the hotel and — plot twist — our room wasn’t ready. Shocking, I know. They’d just survived the Water Festival the day before, so the place was probably still half-drowned and hungover.
The receptionist dude was an absolute saint. His female colleague, however… let’s just say she was clearly auditioning for the role of “Cranky Receptionist from Hell.” I’m 99% sure she was on her period and the other 1% was pure personality.
Thankfully they upgraded us, which was nice. I never saw the original room, so for all I know they moved us from a broom closet to a slightly larger broom closet with a view. Speaking of which — the view? Legit fire. The room itself? Clean enough. Dry sink area: spotless. Toilet: sparkling.
Then came the shower — oh boy. It started off promising, like a decent enough setup… until my girlfriend jumped in. Five minutes later the hot water ghosted her mid-shampoo like a bad Tinder date. One second she’s happily singing, next second she’s screaming like she just got waterboarded by ice cubes. I’ve stayed in fancier bathrooms in Mexican motels that still had bullet holes in the walls and more reliable plumbing.
Breakfast was… breakfast. The kind of “basic” that makes you nostalgic for airplane food. But hey, they gave us more bottled water than a doomsday prepper’s basement, so points for hydration.
We were only there for two nights — in and out like a cheap Tinder date. Would I go back?
Big fat question mark with a side of “probably not even if they paid me.” ⁉️

The hotel room was spotless and very quiet at night, which is a huge plus for anyone who values good sleep – highly recommend it! The front desk staff was lovely; the lady at reception paid close attention to the notes I left on Trip.com and even gave me an eye mask. The location is super convenient for transport on weekends, and dining is a breeze with all sorts of malls downstairs and the old street right next door. Breakfast was also fantastic with a great variety of choices. I'll definitely pick this hotel again next time I'm in Kunming.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we were given a welcome tea ceremony. The owner was very friendly and hospitable. With his help we even managed to secure tickets for the Snow Mountain Cable Car. He also gave guidance on places of interest and great foodie places recommendations.
During one of our tour gorge visits, my wife suffered a fall. The owner immediately offered to take us to a local hospital and even help us navigate the local system to get my wife injuries treated. Very grateful.
The hotel is very homely with excellent ambiance and serene feel. Every family members in this family run hotel is very friendly and hospitable. Location wise is excellent very central within the Gucheng and walking distance to the North Gate, the usual pick up point for most tours and Didi. Around the hotel the super hype activities within the Ancient City simply draws you into the merriment and excitement but the hotel is well located that you get your quite rest without the noisy hassle and bussle of a vibrant city. Great stay and value for money.
This hotel is absolutely fantastic! The location is easy to find, and parking is convenient. The room was larger than expected, and the minimalist decor was perfect for photos. Most importantly, the cleanliness was impeccable; as someone who's particular about hygiene, I was extremely satisfied and have to give it a great review! Usually, I'm quite picky about hotel cleanliness, but this time I couldn't find a single flaw. You could tell the sheets and duvet covers were freshly changed, and there were no water stains or hair in the bathroom corners. The room had excellent soundproofing, and the blackout curtains were superb, allowing me to sleep until I woke up naturally. You can really feel the owner's dedication. Check-in at the front desk was super fast, full marks for efficiency. It's excellent value for money, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
This hotel is located in the Duoyishu Scenic Area of Yuanyang. We chose a room on the 4th floor with a terrace, and the view absolutely blew away all other rooms. We had a vast expanse of terraced fields right in front of us, perfect for photos at any time, especially stunningly beautiful at sunrise – no need to jostle with crowds at the Duoyishu observation deck. The room facilities were pretty complete, including a huge soaking tub, though it felt largely unnecessary. The hotel service was also excellent; they contacted us in advance about our arrival and parking. Since the hotel is situated on a hillside, it's not accessible by private car, but the hotel provides a minivan for pick-up and drop-off at any time. There's no elevator, but the hotel staff were very helpful with luggage up and down the stairs. The hotel offers breakfast sets and also has an à la carte menu. I highly recommend this place for guests who want to enjoy beautiful scenery without having to get up too early or rush to crowded scenic spots. All the photos and videos below were taken from the hotel room.
Bringing parents to Mangshi for vacation, it is too wise to choose the Penxi Hotel, whether it is the environment, health, service, facilities, location are online, the elders live super comfortable!
The overall environment is quiet and clean. There are many tropical green plants in the lobby on the first floor. You can feel the tropical wind when you enter the door.
The room hygiene is nothing to say, the bedding is dry and soft, the floor, window sill, and bathroom corners are cleaned, the bathroom is also separated from wet and dry, and the cleaning is super timely every day. The elders are particularly satisfied with the hygiene.
The butler service is also very intimate, the whole process is patient and thoughtful, the check-in efficiency is super high, the staff takes the initiative to help with luggage, and the caring recommendation is suitable for the elderly to play routes. Any demand response is super fast, and the whole process is very thoughtful.
The facilities are particularly suitable for the needs of the elders. The room is super large. The house is equipped with a Dyson hair dryer and Parma water washing. The mattress is moderately hard and soft. The central air conditioner is not noisy. There is a large bubble pool on the terrace. You can see the Golden Tower and Silver Tower when you take a bath. You can also see a super beautiful sunset in the pool.
The location is superb, the parking lot is super convenient for self-driving, 2 kilometers away from Shwedagon Pagoda and Yinta, and it is very convenient to take a taxi. There are also local food stalls at the entrance of the village. There are many categories. You don’t have to go far to eat. The overall experience is full. It’s right to live here in Mangshi!

For this price and service, I have to give full marks! The airport shuttle, late check-out, late-night noodles, and welcome amenities are all fantastic! Besides these, there are so many little details, like the warm messages in the elevator, the free water available at each floor's elevator entrance, and the morning wake-up service – truly excellent! Just one small suggestion: it would be great if guests could choose whether they want the wake-up service the next day (I understand it might be to ensure guests don't miss their scheduled shuttle). This time, I received a wake-up call without being asked beforehand, and I wasn't planning on getting up yet, haha!

The service is top of the top. Owner very friendly l. He even pay didi first for us, since we cannot make transfer. He even very helpful when we asked about halal food. The room so nice with the best view on of hill. Very cold and calm in the morning. He even make a tea for use and gave some of tea for us to bring home. Highly recommended for those looking the place to stay.

AAnonymous UserI recently stayed at this brand-new hotel (opened in 2024), and it was such a nice experience. If you want a place with lots of extras, this is it. They have two pool tables, a small rooftop pool, and two gyms—one for yoga and Pilates with all the equipment, and another with treadmills, bikes, free weights, and even a Smith machine. There’s also a laundry room with washers, which was really handy.
The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices, but you’ll want to arrive early to get the best selection. The staff were all very friendly, but Fei Xiu (绯袖) on WeChat was especially helpful—she answered all my questions quickly and made everything easy.
The location isn’t right on the riverbank near the Starlight Market, but it’s not far from tourist spots either. It’s actually in a good spot if you want a quieter stay while still being close enough to everything.
If you’re looking for a modern, well-equipped hotel with great service, I’d definitely recommend this one!

GGuest UserThe facilities are really complete, and they even have oxygen supply. I especially want to mention how pet-friendly they are – everyone loves dogs! We brought two dogs with us, and the owner's family also has a cute little dog. Plus, the owner and other staff are all very enthusiastic. The room was super clean; I'm very picky about accommodation, and this place truly exceeded my expectations.
MM21810****Choosing the Adaman Hotel by Mingyoo Li Cheng was absolutely the best decision I made for this Xishuangbanna trip. From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the corridors enveloped in tropical greenery, exuding an exotic vibe. Every snapshot I took turned into a stunning, atmospheric photo. The room was spacious and cozy, with smart controls throughout, making everything super convenient. The bedding was incredibly soft and skin-friendly, ensuring a wonderfully restful sleep every night.
The location is also fantastic – close to the airport, which makes getting around a breeze. Whether you want to escape the crowds for some peaceful time or explore Xishuangbanna's beautiful sights, this place is perfectly suited. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Xishuangbanna!

GGuest UserMuka Manor is definitely a hidden gem in Shangri-La! I stayed here with friends and my dog on a road trip, and my first impression was how incredibly pet-friendly the hotel is. There's a huge grassy area in the pasture where my dog could run freely. The room was also very spacious and clean. And don't even get me started on the afternoon tea! The lady at the cafe was so incredibly sweet. In the evenings, we enjoyed the fireplace tea ceremony, and the housekeepers were hilarious and charming. We even got to try making butter tea and tsampa ourselves – it was such a meaningful experience! The staff's service is genuinely warm and attentive; they were always there when we needed something. The attention to detail made our stay so comfortable and peaceful, just like being at home. It truly deserves a five-star recommendation!
GGuest UserWe booked a family room, which was very spacious and comfortable for three people. The hotel service was excellent, and we extended our stay immediately. The receptionist was very welcoming and recommended good food and fun activities. They quickly resolved any issues, prioritizing customer satisfaction. 👍 The hotel is located behind the Peacock Tower, and there are many restaurants nearby. However, being in a tourist area, prices are not cheap, and the roads inside Gaozhuang are very congested; it's difficult to get a taxi in at night. The hotel is within walking distance of the Starlight Night Market, which is worth a visit.

OOlive GohWhen I started planning our itinerary for our 15 day Yunnan holiday, I plotted out our path to go all the way up to Shangri-la, back down to Kunming and then to Jiaozi Snow Mountain and Dongchuan Red Land. Then I chanced upon a video of Aini Garden and fell in love! The only reason we came to Pu'er was to get to Aini. This was the first place I booked, and I really took a chance because it has a no cancellation policy and I really had to stick to the date once it was made.
The initial pre-arrival experience was less than pleasant. I didn't know how we were going to get to the manor and my WeChat messages went unanswered. The hotel we stayed at in Pu'er finally got in touch with someone and got them to message me. I asked how we could get there and the answer was a curt ”take a taxi or charter a car”. No pleasantries of ”we look forward to seeing you” or offering to arrange a car.
When we arrived, no one was at reception and no one came out. Our driver was so perplexed he wondered if we were in the right place and if the place was open. Finally a young girl came out and registered us in. There was an air of aloofness from everyone else. However, once we were checked in, things warmed up quickly. We were offered coffee and freshly cut papaya and had a nice introduction chat with the lady staff.
The bedroom and bathroom is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. We would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony if the chairs were more comfortable. I love the floor to ceiling glass windows but the panel above the door should also be glass (it is just netting) so traffic sounds from the road actually comes through at night. I actually wanted to book the cottage in the hills but opted for the standard room in the main house because I was worried it would be cold. Big regret as it is actually magnificently located with stunning views. However take note that you will need to call for a buggy ride or make a 1km hike every time you want to eat or get to the main house. If you are self driving, no issues as you can park right next to the cottage. Anyway it's a small price to pay for an unlimited view of the milky way and seclusion.
This is as close to a Ryokan experience as you can get in China, minus the hot springs. 3 days 2 nights of blissful, carefree living is not quite enough. They make sure they feed you well, with the freshest produce available for hotpot dinner and home-cooked Yunnanese dishes for lunch. There are so many activities organised, from taking you up the mountain for a glimpse of sunrise (with mountain goats for company ❤️) to coffee plantation education tour to horseback riding along the mountain ridges (the view is spectacular!) to scavenging for wild vegetables and fruits to drinking, dancing and singing around the campfire! So much to do, so little time!
One area of improvement I personally would like to see is the coffee serving. They tend to be quite snobbish about how their coffee is taken. Neat, with nothing else. Asking for sugar or milk feels nearly scorned upon. Coffee is a versatile drink and can be savoured in a huge variety of ways. How else is Starbucks so successful? I felt kind of stifled and deprived because I love a good latte and had looked forward to enjoying an unlimited indulgence of coffee throughout our stay.
Anyhow, I love the ecotourism efforts here. It feels natural and unpretentious. I love the people and the camaraderie they cultivate. I especially enjoyed talking to their consultant 敬梅, a beautiful lady with extensive knowledge in Yunnan culture and ecological progress. Also thank you to 徐芳 for arranging transport back to town and giving helpful recommendations. We hope to return again.
CCherie TangThe rooms were clean and had a good view of the mountains. They catered to early breakfast daily when you have to leave early and the hospitality is surprising despite being a homestay and small establishment. Only negative is that there was ongoing constructions so moving the luggages were a problem. There is a small laundry room that you can use but is dependent on if you have a slot. Overall, has good amenities and cars to take you to town - shu he and lijiang town whenever you wish.
Room given was abit hot in the afternoon but overall a very pleasant stay.
GGuest UserThis is a new hotel with a really stylish design, and it's spotlessly clean. Guests get complimentary access to the club, which has amenities like billiards, table tennis, arcade games, mahjong, and even a 50-meter standard swimming pool. The hotel includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and even a late-night snack, so you definitely won't go hungry if you decide to eat in. Overall, it exceeded my expectations.
GGuest UserThe hotel is in a fantastic location, right in the heart of the Old Town, super close to Sifang Street and the Bar Street. It's really convenient for getting around and exploring, plus you get amazing panoramic views of Lijiang Old Town. We had two rooms that even came with a private terrace – perfect for enjoying tea and chatting, so relaxing!
MM10627****The room was spacious, and the solid wood desk felt really high-quality. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, which was very convenient for two people. They even have robots that can deliver takeout, which is pretty smart. Plus, there are charging stations right next to the hotel, which is great for electric car owners – no need to worry about finding a place to charge.
