We randomly picked this hotel to stay one night and overall not too bad. The room is huge with everything we need. The breakfast is just instant noodle and white bread, don’t waste money for their breakfast.
This was a nice little budget motel in Chungju. Not too far from the bus terminal, it was surrounded by other hotels and restaurants.
The staff was friendly, but didn’t speak any English. The rooms were clean and spacious, and everything was well-maintained. They even gave you a little travel bag with toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, etc in case you forgot something. The beds were the hard Korean style, which might not be compatible with some westerners preference, but the linens were clean and the bed was in good shape.
My only complaint would be the temperature. It was winter time, but with the ondol floor turned up at full blast, the room felt like I was sleeping outside in the summer. I couldn’t find the controls for the ondol floor in the room, so I had to open the window a crack in the dead of window to moderate the temperature somewhat. But given the price and the quality of room, I’d recommend in the future
Overall very beautiful.
It is convenient to go to Gomatsu station and to the airport near the bus terminal.
I think it is good for the base because restaurants and convenience stores are nearby
Two rooms were taken, drove along the road and tired. The hotel is in some village. Silence and peace. The rooms are clean, bed linen is clean. At this price it is good.
The location is excellent. Take the 747 bus from Cheongju International Airport and get off at the express bus terminal.
The front desk staff are always friendly.
I also appreciated the free corner next to the front desk, which I could use without time restrictions.
The room is simply designed and has everything I need.
However, despite being new, some of the towels looked very worn, and the air conditioner was quite loud.
The lights and air conditioner are controlled with the TV remote.
At first, I didn't know how to turn the air conditioner on, and I frantically searched for it.
People who don't usually turn on the TV don't pick up the remote, so it might be hard to notice.
The sign in the room says the air conditioner remote is on the wall, so be careful.
My biggest issue was the flies.
There were a lot of small gnats, especially in the bathroom.
The air conditioner drains into the bathroom, so the floor was always wet.
Still, I'll definitely return as long as the price remains the same!
You just have to put up with the flies.

AAnonymous UserThis is the place I always visit when I visit Cheongju. The interior facilities are not great, but it is quiet and secluded, so it feels comfortable. It would be better if there were more amenities.

SSgkrElderly woman who manned the front desk ruined the hotel experience for me. Although i had booked online, she said that she was not told of my reservation and said i had to contact the owner on my own. When i said that I was unable to make calls from my phone, she refused to lend me her phone and also did not want to help me locate the korea tourism agency for assistance. Was unwilling to help call a taxi either. Eventually, she relented and when contacted, the owner confirmed my reservation. When i returned at 4pm, there was again a checkin delay and she had to call the owner to ask which room I should be given. It was a harrowing and haphazard experience. When the lady boss finally arrived back at night, the lady boss was nice and pleasant, but the experience had already been ruined.
GGuest UserLoved the private car parking included.
Loved the pleasant, responsive host/owner.
Stayed 2 nights and staff topped up our supplies, towels and emptied our bin. Our room was spacious.
The rooms seem separated by thin walls only and we could hear the next door neighbours late at night.
Enjoyed the free coffee near the reception desk.
From the photos of the room on the website, however, we expected to be able to cook in our room.....stove top shown in the photos.
But the hotplates were not plugged in, nor were there any cooking utensils, pots or pans, cutlery, plates etc.
This was disappointing and the hotplates should not be shown in the photos of the room as it isisleading.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this Hotel which has a great location on the waterfront.
EengTotal magnificent place to stay and experience total peace and beautiful nature. Snow capped mountains. Owners Mr & Mrs Lee are friendly and helpful. Room is clean warm and cosy. Highly recommended to anyone to visit Danyang, to experience Dodam guesthouse than hotel.
Exceeded expectations. Wi sure recommend friends and family to visit Danyang and Dodam guesthouse.
RrobwardleThe room is huge and the bed was very comfortable. There is also comfy seating in the room. The bathroom was very clean and good quality. The staff were very helpful and friendly and it’s near to the bike path, I was able to store my bike safely inside. It’s a novel looking building outside but very smart inside. Highly recommend, excellent value for money
GGuest UserGreat hotel with breakfast
Pros:
- location, in the center of Suanbo
- European breakfast (eggs, toasts with jam, cornflakes with milk)
- really non-smoking room!
- the discount price for the nearby onsen
- helpful staff
Contras:
- the only one - no hot water in the bathroom
GGuest UserThe hotel was so close to Chungbuk National University, which was very convenient to me. Further, the staff in the front desk were very helpful, even with communication issues between us, not knowing Korean and them, not knowing English.

GGuest UserThe room was very good, the price was affordable, and it was great value for money. I went to Jeju today and booked this hotel again. The lobby is very spacious and the outdoor lounge is also very comfortable. It is very comfortable to sit there at night.
