3-Star Hotels in Groningen, Netherlands

From the moment I stepped into The Happy Traveler Hotel, I felt genuinely welcomed. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile, making me feel at home right away. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I appreciated how they offered local tips that truly enhanced my stay. The room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed with both comfort and practicality in mind. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, the linens fresh, and the bathroom sparkling clean. I especially loved the little touches—like complimentary snacks, quality toiletries, and a cozy reading nook—that made the space feel personal and inviting. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable. Situated close to key attractions, public transport, and charming cafes, it made exploring the city effortless. Despite being centrally located, my room was wonderfully quiet at night, ensuring a restful sleep after a day of adventure.

Not bad, but the city tax is not very accurate. I was charged 8 euros and the software showed that I had to pay 7.4 euros.

Great location to explore the city, conveniently located near big supermarket (Jumbo). Easy connectivity, bus line in front of hotel. Quick 15 min walk to the central station. Staff was helpful with storage of luggage etc.

Very good located hotel. Good for a short weekend trip or a city trip to Groningen. They have a parking area underneath the hotel which costs extra but generally much less than parking on the streets. The rooms are spacious and have everything thing you need. Would be nice to have a fridge though but all in all everything you need for a city hotel. The service is very friendly they have good recommendations for the city and also plan activities or restaurant reservations if you would like to. All in all 100% recommend for staying in Groningen!

Despite this hotel is a bit far from the city, it has given us the farm staycation vibe that we need. The room is huge! We selected Executive King with view. And yes the view is just breathtaking 🤩 there are two types of view; Sunrise (facing road and greeneries) and Sunset (facing lake) both are equally amazing! Also bustop is just outside abt 10 mins walk to bring you to the central. The plus point here is there’s a huge lake and a green landscape where you can just take a stroll or rent a bike at the hotel. Not forgetting the indoor swimming pool!Highly recommended for those needed a relax vacation ❤️

The hotel is right in the centre of Veendam, and whilst it's not luxurious, it's clean and comfortable. The bar is excellent, their own beers are also very good, and there's a wide range of others available should you prefer. The food in the restaurant was also pretty good, being tasty and generous. We'll certainly be back!

The location is super center on the square of Groningen! The hotel is a little old but it's a good service. Rooms are small and listening.

Nice hotel, centrally located, friendly people. What was very much felt is that it was clean. We will certainly come back.

Hotel is OK, cost-effective

Stayed at the most intimate hotel! The front desk was warmly guided and took the initiative to help with luggage. The rooms are warmly furnished, the facilities are brand new and complete, and the bedding is soft and comfortable. The breakfast is a combination of Chinese and Western, the variety is super rich, and the taste is great. The surrounding transportation is convenient and the travel is easy. The price is super high, I will choose here next time I travel!
