Excellent location, within walking distance to the Thamel area. It's close enough to be convenient but far enough to be quiet. We were offered warm drinks during check-in, which was a nice touch, especially in winter.
The room was very clean and quiet, and the hotel thoughtfully prepared a cake for us.
The laundry service was also very convenient and efficient.
All the staff were very helpful. The gentleman who helped with our luggage even assisted us in identifying our car by its license plate (as all license plates here use Arabic numerals), and the front desk staff helped us book bus tickets.
The hotel is conveniently located and the room had a nice traditional design. However, I encountered a strong smell in the room, which made my stay uncomfortable. I burned incense to improve the air, which unexpectedly led to a dispute with the hotel about compensation.
The amount they requested was surprisingly high and difficult for me to understand. Eventually, the issue was resolved through the booking platform, but the experience was stressful and not something I expected on my trip. I hope the hotel can handle such situations with more flexibility and understanding in the future

The hotel is conveniently situated right behind of the Garden of Dreams. Just a short walking distance to the busy Thamel area. The vicinity has convenience stores, cafes, eateries and pharmacy.
The room is quite small but it's alright for a short stay. The bed wasn't quite as comfortable as other hotels that I've stayed. Very basic fitness facility in the hotel, do wish that they would make the gym bigger and better equipped.
The breakfast buffet is good enough for some fuel before heading out to explore. Omelette could definitely be improved but I do like the mushrooms and bacon with my omelette. They also have a soup station which you can pick what you want to go into your soup. The soy latte was nicely done. Some day they serve the chocolate cake which is a must try.
Staffs are very well trained and speaks good english. I'd definitely recommend staying here for the value for money, fantastic location and good hospitality.
Stayed for 3 nights and was truly amazed by the hospitality. The room was spotless, the location was perfect, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The hotel has a modern look, the food was delicious, and any issues were handled promptly and professionally. I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next visit. Highly recommended!
As a Chinese traveler who has stayed at several hotels in Kathmandu, I absolutely have to write a detailed review and heartily recommend this gem of a hotel to all my compatriots visiting Nepal!
First and foremost, what truly impressed me was the impeccable cleanliness – a rarity in this region. I've stayed in many local hotels where yellowed, musty towels were the norm, but this place was entirely different. All the linens were sparkling white and felt crisp and fresh, matching the hygiene standards of high-end hotels back home. It made me feel completely at ease. Not just the rooms, even the public restrooms in the lobby were spotless and odor-free. The attention to detail surpassed many star-rated hotels, which, as a Chinese person, instantly made me feel a sense of familiarity and reassurance.
The hotel owner is incredibly kind. Not only is he handsome, but he speaks Chinese even better and more fluently than many of my Chinese friends, making communication completely seamless and smooth. He’s more like a thoughtful elder figure; whether it's planning itineraries, exchanging currency, booking taxis, or asking about local food and entertainment, he patiently answers every question and tries his best to help with any request. Throughout my stay, I felt incredibly well-cared for, completely dispelling any sense of unfamiliarity in a foreign land.
The biggest surprise was the authentic Chinese restaurant on the ground floor, specializing in Sichuan cuisine – the flavors were stunningly genuine! As a Chinese person who loves spicy food, it was an absolute delight to find such authentic Sichuan dishes in Kathmandu. The numbing, spicy, fresh, and aromatic notes were perfectly balanced; every bite tasted like home. It was on par with proper Sichuan restaurants in China, and I happily ate there multiple times without getting tired of it. It truly cured my Chinese craving.
Overall, from hygiene and service to dining, everything far exceeded my expectations. To find such a clean, caring, and 'taste of home' hotel in Kathmandu was truly fortunate. I strongly recommend it to all Chinese travelers visiting Nepal; it will undoubtedly be the warmest haven during your journey. The next time I come to Kathmandu, this will still be my top choice!
We loved this hotel! Located in a quieter part of a busy area, it’s easy to walk to anything in the area. The breakfast is amazing! We loved this hotel!
Extremely wonderful hotel 15 minutes walk from the airport. Everything was sparkling clean, comfortable, and I always felt well taken care of. The gym is well stocked and has a great view of the city. Breakfast was another highlight and included many delicious Nepalese, Indian, and Western foods. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and kind, helping me call taxis for a cheaper fare than the tourist rip off price, and they also helped me store my luggage overnight while I went on a yoga retreat. Can’t recommend this hotel enough!!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel during my trip to Nepal. The quality exceeded my expectations in every way. The room was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean, providing a perfect retreat after long days of exploring.
The location is absolutely fantastic – right in the city center, which made it incredibly convenient to walk around and shop for local goods in town. What I particularly loved was the proximity to several Chinese restaurants nearby, all offering delicious food at very reasonable prices.
The staff truly made our experience special. They were friendly. They were kind enough to store our luggage while we went on our EBC trek.
Hotel dom Himalaya in center city of Kathmandu, big room and clean , quiet and breakfest every morning , the staff very helpful exactly the receptionist ARPANA always smiling and speaking good English. I recommend this hotel.
We stayed here many times. The hotel is showing its age, but the staff more than makes up for it with CLEANLINESS AND KINDNESS.
This is my home in Nepal and we stay here at least 4-5 times a year. Easy access to Themel and walking to airport 300 meters.

MMatthew1122The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and the service, as well as the food is excellent. The rooms however, are very old and small (we were able to change rooms after bringing this up with reception). The location is in Thamel and getting to nearby attractions is convenient
HHsiehTsaiLinI stayed in Kathmandu for a few nights this time and really loved the vibe of this hotel. The room was super comfortable, giving me that cozy 'home away from home' feeling. The bed was great too; coming back and lying down on it every day felt so relaxing. The room was kept very clean, and the overall environment was quiet, so I wasn't disturbed at all while sleeping.
The hot water in the bathroom was consistent, and the water pressure was strong, which made showers really comfortable – a truly important detail for travelers. The location was also very convenient; I could walk to many places. There were money exchange spots and a small supermarket nearby, making it very easy to get daily necessities.
Overall, it's a hotel that makes you feel very relaxed and at ease. If I come back to Kathmandu, I would definitely want to stay here again. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Nepal.

NN SolA great hotel in the heart of the Thamel district. Both the rooms and common areas are decorated in a national style, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The panoramic restaurant on the 7th floor is fantastic – delicious food with a diverse breakfast buffet and an extensive menu for other meals, including both local and European dishes. The hotel also has a very good spa, though it doesn't operate late into the evening. The staff are incredibly friendly and hospitable.
Highly recommend.

CCostantino85I had the pleasure of staying at The Nanee, and the experience was truly excellent.
The hotel is genuinely charming, beautifully maintained, spotless, and very welcoming. You immediately feel the care and attention to detail in every corner. The staff is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and attentive; they make you feel not just like a guest, but truly cared for.
The breakfast is delicious, with great variety and quality, and the restaurant in general is excellent. The dishes are well prepared, flavorful, and served in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The location is also perfect for getting around the city easily, making it very convenient to explore.
Last but not least, the morning tour offered by the hotel to discover local rituals and traditions is something truly unforgettable. It’s an authentic and enriching experience that allows you to connect deeply with the local culture.
To make everything even more special, there is also a lovely farewell gift, a small but meaningful gesture that leaves a lasting impression.
I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit this beautiful and charming city.
Ddjazmy12Very good location, right in the centre of Thamel, close to eateries, cafes, convenience shops and even pharmacies.
Breakfast was repetitive but good, especially the cheese and omelette station. Vegetarian friendly as well.
Airport transfer was good as well, really the best from my experience.
Service is tip top, will try to give you anything you requested, even laundry.
Definitely will go here again!
