The hotel itself is in a good location. 10 minutes walk from the local station and with a beautiful view of the ocean.
It is a charming hotel with an open air hot spring which was the highlight for me. The staff are very friendly and happy to help. They mostly speak enough English to help if you don’t know much Japanese.
The breakfast and dinner was included with the price and very tasty ryokan style Kaiseki dinner where a very helpful waitress explained every course
I stayed in a Japanese style room and for a westerner it was not the most comfortable stay but that is on me and not the hotel!
I would add the room was quite dusty though I am not sure if that is due to the tatami mats.
They provide bus schedule information for guests who visit to see the Daimonzaka, Nachi Falls and Seigantoji
Altogether a good stay but if you are used to western style beds I recommend you choose those rooms
Taoya Nachikatsuura is a refurbished property with excellent rooms and a great location, making it a VERY comfortable and convenient stay overall.
Nice touch with the selection of yukata in chic designs—it adds a bit of personality to the experience. The hotel also offers free-flow alcohol and small bites throughout the day, you need to be careful not to over drink or overeat.
Both the dinner and breakfast buffets stand out, offering a wide variety of options with solid quality across the board.
That said, the in-room outdoor bath (our booking) felt unnecessary. In our view, it’s not worth the extra cost, as it doesn’t come close to the full experience of the main onsen downstairs.
The room was quite spacious with a nice view, but the facilities are a bit dated. To get a completely dark room for sleeping, I had to switch off the main power switch by the door, which meant getting out of bed to turn off the remaining lights that were still on and glaring. The air conditioning was terrible; even on the lowest temperature and highest fan speed, I woke up several times at night feeling hot despite being under the covers. The buffet was just average.
The hotel is easy to find with a parking garage connecting to it. Check in was fast and hotel staff was helpful with good English. Parking is 800 yen for hotel guests for 24 hours. The room is nice and beddings are comfortable. Their sky spa is small but functional with an indoor, outdoor onsen and a steam sauna. It could get crowded if there are more than 2-3 people given so compact. The mall downstairs have a few restaurants, a supermarket, a bookstore and a public library which is convenient. The hotel does not provide much amenities which I was a bit disappointed. Overall still a good hotel with a modern stylish design which i recommend in non peak season with a good rate.
My stay at the Daiwa Roynet Hotel Wakayama was excellent overall. The hotel is centrally located near the station, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing and finding places to eat. The decor is simple, elegant Japanese style, and the common areas are clean and spacious. The guest rooms are a good size, spotlessly clean, and the bedding is soft, ensuring a very restful night's sleep. The daily breakfast offers a mix of Japanese and Western options, with fresh ingredients. The front desk staff were polite and professional, and check-in and check-out were very efficient. It's perfect whether you're traveling solo or with companions. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.
The hotel is conveniently located right by a bus stop. The onsen hotel offers a great variety of food. The dinner buffet included sashimi, and breakfast featured local specialties. The Japanese-style tatami beds were very comfortable. A pleasant surprise was the complimentary drinks bar, perfect for enjoying after a relaxing bath.
Everything about this place was great! Shirahama is such a comfortable and relaxing destination, and the hotel was excellent too. I was personally very satisfied and have already recommended it to friends. They're quite interested and want to come back with me next time for a vacation. The convenience stores nearby are super handy, and there's a supermarket close by for some browsing too.
I rented this hot spring hotel in Baibin this time. I personally feel that it is very worthwhile. The room is clean, there is a separate bathroom and a private style. When I checked in, the staff proposed to drink at the lounge. The small gift and the toiletries were the same. We immediately sighed and sighed. Two cups of draft beer, this arrangement is very intimate. Dinner can be arranged at 6 or 7 o'clock. The ingredients are very rich. The abalone is delicious, and the Kumano and the cattle are delicious. Every time the staff at the meal has an explanation, although the communication is difficult, but the squatting is very dedicated to using Google translate translation than mine. The service is really unbearable.
I originally bought the plum wine and planned to drink in the room. I was worried about how to ask them to drink ice cubes. I knew that as soon as I entered the room, there was a large edible ice bucket to place the cabinet. I immediately felt that the hotel was really intimate!
The second morning breakfast can be picked at 9 o'clock, because we plan to get up and soak in the hot spring again, breakfast is also rich, eat to take a belly room.
Overall, this experience is good, it is worth recommending!
Right outside Kushimoto Station, you can spot the hotel's shuttle bus (there's a timetable, and it aligns with most Kuroshio train services).
The hotel is a bit dated, but the cleanliness is decent. The room was very spacious, though the furniture is old. The guest lounge in front of the huge floor-to-ceiling windows in the lobby offers a variety of free beverages and overlooks the sea.
We booked a half-board plan with dinner and breakfast. The buffet dinner and breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, and we feasted on tuna sashimi until we couldn't eat anymore.
Our mountain-view room overlooked a baseball training field. Watching the young people swinging their bats and hearing the crisp sound at sunset was very relaxing.
The public bath was pretty standard, nothing particularly special.
There's a circular bus service outside the hotel that goes between Kushimoto Station and various attractions, but the buses are infrequent and the waits are long, so I'd recommend taking a taxi instead.
Next to the hotel, there's a small chapel that instantly gave me South California vibes...
The room was very spacious and had no strange smells. The hotel staff even helped move our stored luggage into the room and provided complimentary snacks and water, which was a very thoughtful touch! The TV showed the occupancy of various public areas, which was super considerate. The hot springs were also very comfortable, with good ambiance and cleanliness. After a dip, they offered popsicles, which was a nice treat. There were two large bookshelves nearby where you could pick out your favorite manga to read, and right outside was the massage chair area – absolutely perfect! In the evening, they offered free late-night noodles that were quite tasty, and there was a self-service drink bar. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of choices, and I even got to try local specialty sushi, which was a unique experience. There was an electronic scale at the stairwell for weighing luggage, which was very convenient. I'd love to visit again if I get the chance!

GGuest UserThe staff at the accommodation were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The English-speaking staff guided us around the facilities and thoroughly explained the rules. Despite the curfew at 9 PM, we were allowed to return later using an alternate door. Dinner was superb and delicious, with a variety of vegan dishes offered. It's a perfect place to relax and rejuvenate.

MMainaiyoudexiaowanzijunWe were extremely pleased with every aspect of our stay! The service was excellent, and everyone was incredibly friendly and kind. We booked a sea-view room, which was spacious, and we loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves. A highlight for us was the pre-booked breakfast and dinner at the hotel; they were fresh, delicious, and exquisitely prepared, with no repetition over our two-day stay. The staff at the tourist information center next to the station also provided exceptional service. They meticulously marked train schedules and maps with colored pens and even helped us look up the tidal times.
GGuest UserThe hotel staff was very welcoming and accommodate all our needs. Though it is not close to from main street and restaurants of the town, and maybe not so new and fancy as other hotels in town, we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel has very specious rooms and great sea views! It also has a secluded lounge for the guests where you can bring your drinks and food if you want to catch up with your friends outside the room, that was very nice for our group, we could enjoy our time there (not many hotels have this!). The manager (hotel owner?) has gone far beyond and even organised our breakfast for 7 people for takeaway when he heard that we have to leave early. They quickly put it in a recyclable furoshiki (Japanese way to pack the bento lunches), it was so sweet of them! When eating this breakfast on a train I could tell it was the best breakfast we had during our stays in the hotels. I definitely recommend staying in this small hotel with high level of service!
