This stay was, to put it mildly, a bug-infested lesson.
I stayed for 4 nights. The first two nights were fine, but on the third night, things went south – I started getting bitten by bugs in the room, resulting in red spots all over my body. This wasn't just me being sensitive; these were clearly visible bites that required photographic evidence (which I did take, of both the spots and the bugs).
What's even more outrageous is that this wasn't an isolated incident. I later found out that previous guests had reported similar issues, indicating that the hotel has a long-standing problem with hygiene and pest control, rather than a one-off accident.
After the incident, the hotel's solution was to arrange a room change. The problem is, what had to happen already happened. The room change felt more like going through the motions than actually solving the issue.
Due to hygiene concerns, I personally disposed of some of my clothes and shoes, essentially paying extra for this stay.
To summarize:
* The room has a pest problem.
* Hygiene management is questionable (and seemingly a long-term issue).
* The response was delayed and inadequate.
* The guest had to bear the additional costs themselves.
If you're just looking for a place to sleep, you might gamble on it; but if you don't want to use your body as a test subject, I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.
This hotel offers great value for money. It's in an excellent location, facing a small square and near a lake, and just a 10-minute walk from Hallgrímskirkja Church. There are also many fantastic restaurants in the vicinity. The hotel doesn't have its own parking, so you'll need to use a nearby public car park. The rooms aren't huge, but they are clean, and the front desk service is excellent.
The room is a good size, very clean, warm comforter, nice TV, clean bathroom.
But! Poor lighting, no in-house telephone, no instructions for remote.
But, the receptionist young man is full of information, very well spoken, and took care of my needs.
The breakfast, an avocado toast, and coffee were excellent. So good!
I would recommend the hotel as its location is super.
Highly recommended, great location, great Service. Although the room was a bit small, but given the room Rate was quite affordable in Reykjavik, This hotel is certainly great Value for money.
Hotel Ódinsvé is ideally located in the city center, within easy walking distance of major attractions such as the cathedral, making it very convenient for tourists. The on-site restaurant offers delicious meals and is worth a try. However, since Iceland has 20 hours of sunshine in summer and the room's light-shielding effect is slightly insufficient, it may affect sleep quality. If you stay in the summer, it is recommended to bring your own eye mask to ensure rest. Overall, it is an accommodation option that combines convenience and comfort.
The location is super convenient for city walks to Rainbow Street, the church, and supermarkets. The room was clean and tidy, perfect for cooking as it had basic supplies like oil and black pepper, plus a dishwasher. The front desk service was also very enthusiastic! Just remember that in Iceland, you need to bring your own toiletries and slippers, and there's no razor. Luckily, the supermarket is very close.
It was all overall good. Friendly front office, clean and spacious room, toilet and shower room was small but it was sufficient for my use. Bus stop is 5 minutes walking distance away , US embassy as well (no use , simply mentioned though). Football stadium and sports exhibition hall is 7 minutes away.
With a stay at Hlemmur Suites, you'll be centrally located in Reykjavik, steps from Laugavegur and 10 minutes by foot from Hallgrimskirkja. This apartment is 1.4 mi (2.2 km) from Reykjavik Harbour and 0.9 mi (1.5 km) from Harpa.
Make yourself at home in one of the 33 guestrooms, featuring kitchens. 40-inch Smart televisions with digital programming provide entertainment, while complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected. Conveniences include refrigerators and coffee/tea makers.
I chose a room with a kitchen, which was pretty good. It had an induction cooker and bar stools, so I could cook simple dishes. There was no kettle, but there was a coffee machine.
I had to wash the dishes myself to make it convenient for the next customer. Because I couldn't ensure that the previous customer had washed them very clean, I also recommended that everyone rinse the dishes themselves before using them.
Excellent location, friendly reception, great breakfast, clean and comfortable room. Go for the breakfast, they are great. You don’t find breakfast outside early in the morning. Even if you do, those from the hotel are of good value.

Great
SsindhupFoss hotel Reykjavik is a great place, conveniently located next to Bus stop 12 where all the tour operators pick up and drop off as well as Fly bus tdrop off and pick up. The hotel is very clean and safe. I have a fantastic experience with the staff in front desk and house keeping. I was a solo traveller and I asked guidance to the front desk on some places that i wanted to go within and near Reykjavik. Tge front desk staff, he gave me suggestions and helped me book the show ticket. He gave me clear instructions and seeing my lost look , even gave me the hootel phone numbers to call him in case I run into trouble. But thanks to his clear guidance I managed to navigate well and had a great day out. This hotel is about 15 to 20mrs from city centre by walk. One day I forgot my gold chain in the room. But the housekeeping folks while cleaning did not even touch any valuable stuff that i left. It is really a very reliable and safe hotel. They have a restaurant that serves delicioys food. I ate their fish and chips and chicken salad. Both were great. The breakfast has a good spread. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The best part is still the excellent service from the staff. My trip got rebooked and i had multiple correspondence with the staff and they were always prompt and reassuring. The only downside of the whole stay was my room. I got a corner room which had a slanted corner shape, meaning a triangle cut off from a rectangle. Though nicely laid out, i felt claustrophobic as the room size was much smaller. That room is not ideal, especially if not solo.
GGuest UserThe front desk staff were incredibly friendly, and the room and towels were very clean. It was super convenient having bus stop #13 for tourists right next to the hotel, and #9 and #12 were only a 5-minute walk away, which was great for local tours. Being at the edge of the city center made shopping easy. The spa was a highlight, with both indoor and outdoor pools, perfect for unwinding. There's also a dry sauna. Just a heads-up, the spa facilities are co-ed, so swimwear is a must.
AAlec Lyubomirsky (alyubomi)We started our travel to Iceland by driving around Iceland in a campervan, so we were hoping for a relaxing hotel stay in Reykjavik at the end of the trip when we pre-booked. We were not disappointed by the Eyja Guldsmeden. The location was only a few blocks away from downtown where there were tons of shopping and dining options, and the hotel itself was beautiful. In the lobby, we grabbed (included) coffee in the mornings and a reasonably-priced drink for happy hour. The service at the front desk was friendly and cordial. The room itself had a nice view of the mountains and was warm and cozy. It was a great stay and we would definitely go back to this hotel again if we are ever back in Iceland!
Our only difficulty, understanding this is mostly outside of the hotel's control, is that some of the sidewalks on the walk to downtown were extremely icy and slippery after a day or so of wintry mix that froze over. We had to be extremely careful making our way down to Laugavegur, which had much safer sidewalks. There were even a few buses and cars that couldn't make their way up or down the icy, hilly streets and had to work their way around. So if you are going in the Winter, be cautious and walk slowly!
KKEVINLEEWhile not in the absolute city center, the hotel's facilities, breakfast, and service are all excellent. Getting around is easy: there are several bus routes directly across the street that go downtown. For airport transfers, the Flybus service connects to a shuttle that drops you off right at the hotel. Good day tours and island excursions also provide convenient pick-up and drop-off from the lobby. A majority of the guests are American, and the restaurant primarily offers Western dishes.
DDaniel CurtisI loved this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it! One of the outstanding features is that they give you a cell phone to use during your stay. The phone already has helpful apps installed for taxis, restaurants, etc. We are from the US so did not have international cell service so having this phone with us was helpful, especially for using maps. Reykjavik is a walkable city, and the hotel is located on the most popular street, so it has easy access to everything. The staff was very helpful and there is also a bar/restaurant onsite with amazing cocktails. There is an included breakfast buffet which featured hot and cold items. We had a room on the 4th floor that included access to large patio. We loved this feature as we could wake up and go outside to check the weather and enjoy the views of the mountains and water in the distance. The hotel was also extremely clean. Another nice touch was that they knew we were celebrating our wedding anniversary so when we entered our room, we found a bottle of wine, chocolate and romantic decorations!

GGuest UserThis apartment-style hotel is really great. Remember to book in advance, you can save a lot! You can cook here, and all the kitchenware and laundry facilities are available. There's a microwave, perfect for heating up some instant meals!
There are two beds, and the bathroom is also very spacious. Check-in is conveniently located right across from the apartment building. You can ask the front desk for some disposable toothbrushes, which is a nice touch. They also store luggage for free.
All in all, it was a fantastic experience, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time!!
GGuest UserThe location is excellent, within walking distance to the city's popular attractions, restaurants, cafes, etc. The room is relatively small, but comfortable. The bathroom is relatively small, especially the wash basin. The so-called buffet breakfast is not bad, but there is not much choice of food. The hotel service and staff are very friendly and helpful.
CChuckHotel Holt was a fantastic find for us! It is a throwback to days glamore! It is a beautiful facility well maintained and very clean. We loved looking at all the art prices hung through out the Hotel and rooms. It really does give that 50-60s vibe! We even had a real key for our room. Really loved staying there.
