4-Star Hotels in Hebei, China

An attractive hotel in a former imperial complex (a library or something like that) offering large, clean rooms. It's up on the side of a hill but taxis/rideshare will take you to the front door. Also it's very close to the town center and is a short ride to the temples that are of interest in Chengde. They have a decent breakfast at the onsite restaurant, and a dinner service featuring local dishes that are supposed to be similar to what an emperor might have eaten. So you can dine like an emperor, for a fee. The large deer roaming the grounds stare at your with the big, sad eyes, obviously looking for a handout, but don't fall for it as there's plenty of grass. There was some construction going on, seems the buildings are being refurbished, but it did not really interfere with our stay. Signs in English and English-speaking staff at the front desk.

The hotel's main entrance is directly opposite Hengshui Station, making it arguably the closest and largest hotel in the vicinity. You just walk across the plaza after exiting the station. Its location couldn't be more convenient – a solid 7 out of 5 stars for accessibility! For the price, I honestly expected a very basic stay, but was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service. The facilities, amenities, and room size are definitely comparable to a 4-star hotel. My room had some noise from next door, so I asked a staff member if I could move, and to my delight, they readily accommodated my request. Breakfast was also a highlight. For a hotel of this category, the variety far exceeded my expectations. They offered a wide range of options, from Western choices like toast, jam, and coffee, to Chinese staples like noodles, wontons, and various hot dishes. They even had unique items like fried lychee balls and chicken nuggets. The spread truly rivaled that of a 4-star hotel! All in all, it was a fantastic stay, and I'll definitely be back.

The stay experience tonight was really disappointing, and the main problem was the hardware facilities of the room. However, it must be said that the service attitude of the front desk staff is very good, and their efforts are worthy of individual praise. 1. Odor problem. At the beginning, it was arranged in the room on the 8th floor, and there was a clear pungent smell in the corridor. Although the staff quickly used aromatherapy, the effect was to mix the taste together and did not fundamentally solve it. The room also felt very stuffy, the air was not circulating, and the air conditioner could emit hot air. After a while, I felt that the nose and throat were not very comfortable. The two young ladies at the front desk were very patient. After learning about the situation, they took the initiative to take me to see other empty rooms. They saw five rooms before and after. Some rooms are damp, some even have the smell of the toilet, which shows that the maintenance status of different rooms is very different. In the end, I finally found a slightly normal one. They were not impatient throughout the whole process. Thank you very much. 2. Water flow problem. Unexpectedly, the problem in the room was just solved, and the bath was in trouble. The room on the 3rd floor where I lived, the hot water flow was very small and the water pressure was obviously insufficient. When taking a bath, the sputum can be washed locally, and the experience is very bad. In the weather with poor air quality, the interior of the hotel is more uncomfortable because of ventilation problems. 3. Sound insulation problem. Every time I close the door next door, I can hear the sound and the sound of chatting upstairs. In general, the smell, sound insulation and hot water problems encountered during this stay were all caused by inadequate hardware or maintenance, which did affect the rest. But the professionalism and patience of the front desk staff is the only highlight, and I hope that the hotel management will pay attention to and improve these basic issues, and do not disappoint the efforts of the staff and the trust of the guests.

This hotel truly exceeded my expectations with its outstanding service and comfortable accommodations. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and equipped with all the modern amenities I needed for a relaxing stay.

Booked on friends’ recommendation and it did not disappoint! This is our first time in this region and first time ever in a ski resort and it has been a very pleasant and memorable experience. The hotel is in the heart of the ski resort from where dining options and shops are easily accessible. The Family Room is of decent size for 3 people (myself and two teenagers) and had all the usual amenities. Bidets are not typical in the country so don’t expect to see one here. Breakfast came with my booking and we got to try the typical food for this time of day. No Western breakfast available from the buffet. The selection does not vary per day so maybe keep that in mind if you’re staying for more than a couple of days. There are some food options outside but not a lot in the early morning. Most shops and restaurants open at 10am. Customer service is exceptional and probably what we loved most about our stay. Mr. Lang, the English-speaking concierge, was very attentive and went above and beyond for us, making sure we took full advantage of the amenities such as the free movie tickets and hot spring sessions. He took great care explaining how to rent equipment and pay for ski passes to us noobs and we really appreciate that.

Beyond the basic cleanliness of the room, which is a given, I've always loved the bathroom design at Hampton. It's surprisingly spacious, even with limited room area – kudos for that! The rooftop bar has a great view, and the front desk ladies were incredibly helpful, even bringing up a band-aid late at night. Breakfast, as always, was excellent. It's about a five-minute walk to the beach. The only downside is that two buildings in front completely block the sea view, but that's a minor flaw considering all the positives.

The Tangyin Hot Spring Hotel has spacious parking areas on both sides, making it a no-brainer for self-driving travelers. The service attention to detail is exceptional, from check-in guidance to thoughtful reminders in the hot spring area; you can feel the staff's dedication everywhere. The hot spring water quality is superb; my skin felt silky smooth after a soak, and all my fatigue vanished. The breakfast selection was beyond imagination, with a full range of hot dishes, cold cuts, and a freshly prepared noodle station. Everything was delicious and hit the spot. Overall, a fantastic experience!

An Unexpectedly Comfortable Stay! My stay at the Hilton Garden Inn was exceptionally satisfying! The hotel boasts an excellent location, with convenient transportation access, making it perfect for both business and leisure travelers. Stepping into the lobby, I was immediately impressed by the warm atmosphere and friendly service. The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and efficient, quickly handling my check-in. The room was spacious and bright, with plush, comfortable bedding. The 'Garden Sleep System' bed, in particular, ensured I had a wonderful night's sleep. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the attention to detail truly stood out. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, combining both Western and Chinese dishes. The ingredients were fresh, and everything tasted delicious. The hotel also features a well-equipped fitness center and business center, perfectly meeting all my needs. What truly stood out was the professionalism of the hotel's service team. Their dedication and thoughtfulness were evident in every interaction, from housekeeping to concierge services. It offers outstanding value for money, making it an excellent choice for any trip! I will definitely choose Hilton Garden Inn again for my next visit, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!

Service, staff and price…. Everything is perfect ! I’ve stayed at this wonderful hotel for four days and been deeply impressed by the hospitality and quality of the service the hotel has offered . Squeaky clean from inside out and housekeepers super helpful and accommodating! I will definitely come back in the future and recommend it to my friends coming to Shijiazhuang, China. If I have to say anything needing improvement , I’d like to suggest that the hotel management be a little tougher on the guests half naked in the restaurant for the breakfast buffet. I understand they might just come out it the cozy and hot Sauna. However , public decency also needs to be observed and displayed . By the way, I made a video clip on the half-naked male guest in the restaurant and the hotel employee standing on his side with a shirt in hands trying to convince the man to put it on . After posting it onto TikTok , it has more than 5000 views in two hours worldwide !
