Me and my husband stayed four nights in this hotel for our summer holiday in Germany in 2020. Nb not 2022. Perfect location close to the Altstadt and the river in Lubeck. Because of the corona the pool and sauna was closed. We thought that any 5 star hotel should have a gym but this hotel had not. We went to the High 5 gym near by. But we certainly recommend the High5 gym, and the reception should also recommend a gym when guests ask for it. Breakfast had a variety of offers. We spent a few mornings in the outside cafeteria on the lawn outside the hotel in the nice sun. The cleanliness was good and the staff was polite. But some of the receptionists seemed a bit more formal or reserved than we are used to from Scandinavia. A little smile or two can do a lot! We would like to come back for The Christmas marked.

Don’t get a room facing the ‘park’ - what you get is a room facing the bus station with diesel driven noisy buses arriving and leaving around the clock. A true stressful experience— quite the opposite of the hotel promise. The buffet is second to none and the room furniture and bathroom are fine. However, the in-room entertainment is poor. German tv channels and no way to connect your own devices. Comparable hotels have built-in connections for Apple and Android devices allowing guests to bring their own streaming services Bad location next to bus station and poor in-room entertainment options - no more than three stars

Usually you should not write a review before you have checked out, as things can still happen before check-out. But boy is this hotel a gem! I went for a ‘surprise’ room so didn’t know before arrival, what I would get. I got a spacious and beautiful garden view room with a large balcony/terrace (contemporary and yet elegant interior design). The bar is great, the breakfast is fantastic, the SPA area is sublime, I am sure dinner will be great. I seriously can’t find a flaw, maybe just that on an occasion or two, the bar staff was chatting to each other a bit too long without serving the guest, but then again that is now really nip-picking as they were all super friendly. And for EUR 250,00 a night over the weekend incl. a 5-star breakfast the price is super acceptable (I travel a lot and pay on average more than EUR 500,00 per night so Das James is certainly not overpriced). And ooohhh yes, forgot to mention the stunning surroundings at the Fjord of Flensburg. Keep it up, Das James!!🙂🙏💪

The small, charming hotel is worthwhile by its excellent location and its great potential. It is obvious that the quality standards of a Grand Hotel are aiming. However, we believe that there is lack of qualified staff and effective management that enforces these standards. In the breakfast area there was lack of cups and cocktails. When I pointed out to the staff, a service force reacted very hysterically, saying they were only third and that for financial reasons no additional staff could be recruited. In this case, I was pushed unsatisfactoryly on my shoulder and strongly asked to complain about the reception. Since I had already been disregarded by a dishonest kindness, I renounced it. The hotel was not in the entire hotel, even at the reception at request. So the chaos remained uncoordinated and the laughter was first bad. Some staff seem to be trying to show their dissatisfaction with the management, but the cleaning staff and the Eastern European staff were good at work and always friendly. “The common thing between a guest and a staff member is that both are not forced to be there.”

hervorzuheben ist das Personal ! immer aufmerksam und offen für eine Frage. keine Hektik und nicht steif. Von außen ist das Haus nicht so ein Hingucker, aber innen macht es alles wett. Die weihnachtliche Deko sprach mich sehr an und die vorgegebenen Menüs über Weihnachten (bei 3 Angeboten zur Wahl im Hauptgang) abwechslungsreich und lecker. Der Blick über die Ostsee vom Zimmer aus unbeschreiblich. Ein sehr großes Schwimmbad hatte ich nicht erwartet und in den Saunen findet sich auch für Jeden die richtige Temperatur
