We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and were very impressed with both the service and overall experience.
A special thank you to Shengjing, the Room Service Manager, for the outstanding service. Everything was well organized, prompt, and delivered with great care, which made our stay very comfortable.
We would also like to commend Manager Gaoand Lili at the buffet restaurant. The food selection was excellent, the dining area was clean and well managed, and the service was attentive and professional.
At the front desk, Taozi, Damai, and Huasheng provided exceptional service. They were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay, always ready to assist with a smile and great efficiency.
Overall, the hotel staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We truly appreciated the hospitality and would highly recommend this hotel to others. We look forward to staying here again.

The hotel's location is super convenient, right across the river from the Water Market and West Market. To the right, you'll find Yanji People's Park, and a short walk through the park brings you to the famous internet-famous wall at Yanbian University.
From the moment we arrived, through check-in at the front desk, and even the restaurant service, everyone was incredibly friendly and professional. We were especially impressed with the VIP manager's WeChat service; they even helped us arrange a private car tour, which made us very happy.
The hotel rooms are quite spacious, clean, and tidy, and they even offer complimentary drinks and snacks. Breakfast was abundant and delicious; we had hot dishes for two days straight, and none were repeated. Plus, you can even watch the sunrise from the restaurant 🌅.
This hotel offers great value for money and is highly recommended.

My recent trip to Changchun led me to stay at the Shangri-La, and the experience was absolutely fantastic! I have to give a special shout-out to the front desk service – it was incredibly efficient and thoughtful throughout. The staff always had a warm smile, patiently answered all my questions about local transportation and dining, and even proactively helped me arrange an early check-in. Their professionalism and warmth made me feel completely at ease, which is so comforting when you're away from home.
The thoughtful room details were also a huge plus! The alarm clock by the bed actually has a built-in wireless charging function. I could just place my phone on it to charge – no more fumbling for chargers or dealing with tangled cords. For someone like me who often forgets their charger, this was incredibly practical. The room itself was clean and tidy, and the bedding was comfortable. These two extra-special touches made the experience far exceed my expectations. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Changchun and will wholeheartedly recommend it to my friends!

Room facilities: Everything was well-appointed, and watching the snowflakes fall from the balcony was incredibly picturesque.
Value for money: This Hilton hotel was the most worthwhile booking of my Changbaishan trip. The package included hot spring and skiing tickets, both of which were very practical and made the entire trip incredibly fulfilling.
Breakfast: There was a good variety of options, more than enough for us women with smaller appetites.
Bed: Very comfortable, just the right firmness.
Restaurant: On the first day, we had Korean BBQ at the hotel. The dishes were exquisite; it didn't look like much, but two of us ate until we were stuffed.
Location and transport: The location is excellent, very close to the entrance of the North Slope scenic area.
Service: What deserves the most praise is the hotel's truly outstanding service. They meticulously arranged transportation for us to every attraction, which was incredibly thoughtful. Every staff member was enthusiastic, helpful, and answered all our questions, making us feel like old friends. They went out of their way to accommodate our requests for a room upgrade and late check-out. Next time I come to Changbaishan, I must stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton again.

I stayed here for several consecutive days and was very satisfied. Every staff member I met greeted me warmly, and I especially want to commend Ivy for her help during my stay. I wanted to experience different room types, so I booked several different rooms. Ivy proactively asked about my preferred time to switch rooms and, once the new room was clean, she notified me and sent over the key card. Her service-mindedness is truly excellent. I highly recommend everyone to stay here. It's in the city center, making it convenient to go anywhere, and The MixC is just across the street, solving all your dining and shopping needs. It's fantastic!

If it's your first time visiting, don't hesitate to book this place. They'll take care of everything for you, but make sure to contact the hotel in advance – and I mean *definitely* in advance. You can ask your butler for recommendations on local attractions, how to get there, how to buy tickets, and even how to hail a taxi. They also offer free train station pick-up and drop-off to the scenic area entrance, free skiing, and free hot spring access. If you need a car temporarily, they can arrange one for you (at your own expense), so no worries at all. And the hot springs – you *must* go! Their hot springs are natural and located right within the scenic area. Soaking in the hot springs while it's snowing is truly wonderful. If you avoid weekends and holidays, it's not even crowded.

Changbai Mountain Landscape International Eco-Exchange Center — where “eco-exchange” really means exchanging knee joints for enlightenment 🐕🦺❄️
This old dog picked this place as a first-timer to Changbaishan because on paper it reads like a dream:
✔️ 5-minute walk to the Changbai Mountain VIP entrance
✔️ Hot springs inside the compound
✔️ “Eco-exchange” — which I later learned refers to exchanging comfort for character development
Location? Prime marrow bone. 🦴
Reality, however, is a scenic winter obstacle course.
The hotel is thoughtfully scattered across three separate buildings — one for check-in and breakfast, another for hot springs, and because suspense is important in life, the Food Plaza lives in yet another building.
In winter.
On ice.
With wind that slaps.
Not exactly age-old-dog friendly. I waddled. I shuffled. I negotiated with my knees. At one point I believe my soul lagged behind and had to catch up.
To offset this Arctic triathlon, the staff are available 24/7 on WeChat, responding faster than I can type “why did I choose this hotel?” Efficiency deserves a respectful tail wag. 🐾
Now let’s talk Food Plaza, the hotel’s redemption arc.
The food is genuinely scrumptious, warming, and emotionally supportive after being bullied by Changbai winds. Takeaway is allowed — which means you carry it yourself. Eco-exchange again. This dog fetches his own dinner. 🥸
Then there’s the hot spring schedule.
Opens at 13:30.
When the mountain is closed
and the hot spring is closed
what exactly is an old dog meant to do?
Stare into the snow?
Question life decisions?
Age visibly?
Ah yes — write this review. ✔️
⚠️ Now, the bone that refuses to go down smoothly.
Despite having a relaxed stay, I felt continuously pressed for a 5-star review — on departure day from the first meeting in the lobby to gentle reminders all the way up the bus.
At that point, it stopped feeling like hospitality and started feeling like an exam I didn’t sign up for.
It made me sad, actually — because it suggests staff performance may be chained to guest reviews like sled dogs pulling corporate KPIs.
Trip.com, if you’re listening:
no guest should ever be pressured to review.
The moment reviews are pushed, ratings stop being honest and start being decorative.
This old dog is an independent reviewer.
I don’t bark on command.
I don’t roll over for stars.
And the harder the push, the more my paw hovers over the lowest rating out of pure principle.
Still — despite the ice, the walking, the soul-searching — the location alone makes this a smart base for Changbaishan first-timers.
Just come prepared with:
• good boots
• strong knees
• emotional resilience
• and the confidence to say, “I will rate when I’m ready.”

The hotel is very clean but when I was there with my family, there are a lot of constructions ongoing near the hotel and it was raining every single day when we are at Changchun.
The hotel staff is very nice and efficient esp when we had only 30 mins to board our train to head to Changbaishan. The hotel staff, Fu Yang, is able to cater for us and understand that we are rushing for time. We managed to board our train successfully thanks to Ms Fu Yang.
The breakfast options were rather limited. There was a signage saying that we could have how we wanted our eggs. We requested for the chef to cook it; the chef booked for us unwillingly and gave us an attitude. From the previous guest reviews, there are many positive reviews with regards to the buffet hence we decided to pay for the breakfast buffet.
Overall, we will still stay in the same hotel if we visit Changchun once again. :)
Side note, the train station was rather far away from the hotel. However, DiDi works fine too.

## Ambiance
The environment was excellent, and the room was quite spacious.
## Facilities
Facilities were generally good, but a notable oversight for a hot spring hotel was the absence of a drying rack for swimsuits. After a dip and washing your swimwear, there was nowhere convenient to hang it to dry.
## Cleanliness
Very good.
## Service
A significant point of frustration arose with the hot spring policy. My booking confirmation did not explicitly state that hot spring access is limited to one entry per person per day. When I inquired, the hot spring area manager informed me this was the hotel's default rule. I found this completely unreasonable, and it severely detracted from my overall experience. Had such a crucial restriction been clearly communicated upfront during booking, guests would not have been caught off guard. I strongly recommend the hotel clearly outlines its hot spring usage guidelines.
Wanda Plaza is just around the corner. It's a 10-minute taxi ride to the high-speed rail station, and even after an evening of shopping, you can walk back in just 10 minutes – incredibly convenient! There are also several convenience stores nearby, making it super easy to grab some soy milk and *youtiao* for breakfast in the morning. The room was clean, and the bed was so comfortable I didn't wake up with any back pain. Abby was also very responsive, and I'd definitely want to stay here again on my next visit!

GGuest UserWhat a trip! The rooms are MASSIVE. It's essentially a full apartment. Very spacious and comfortable. The beds are extra extra large so perfect for families.
For Western travellers, you may find the bed a bit hard. We were perfectly happy with it though.
I personally will recommend Holiday Inn at the resort for those with kids. It's right next to the beginner tracks and that hotel hosts all the children activities and kids club. Though I don't know what the room is like. More from a location perspective.
Wanda Jin Suites has 2 buildings. Best to get the 1st building as much closer to the beginner tracks and the service centre to rent ski gears. We were in the 2nd building.
I will say from a location perspective, it was inconvenient for us as once you have snow boots on, it's a trek to carry your ski gears back and forth. There are lockers to put your ski gears in so we'll utilise that more next time. You do need WeChat though and if you don't have a local number, it gets difficult. If you're from Australia, just lose the 0 and add 18 at the front of your mobile number and that will get you through. But best to just get a local SIM to save you the hassle.
But from a food perspective, they're right outside the building and short walk to the hot springs and the water park which is all included in the hotel fees. Including ski pass and going to the snow playground. At the snow playground, there's snowmobiles for kids to ride on amongst a lot of other activities. But that's extra money. Again, need WeChat.
The hotel concierge when you check in will add you into their WeChat and you can ask them questions and they'll help you. Very convenient.
It's an amazing place to come with kids. Water park is insane there and my son had a blast. The hot spring was also an amazing experience. Though very cold to get in and out of the hot springs at -20C.
There are other activities outside the resort which hotel concierge will help you arrange. They can also shuttle you to the nearby village for more authentic food if you don't want to eat inside the resort.
Beaware that the pharmacy at the resort does not have any ibuprofen or paracetemol.
Strongly advise you get WeChat. You can book pretty much all the activities through their WeChat mini app. Including ski coaches. There are rogue ski coaches coming up to you to get business so beware. We almost got on a shuttle with a rogue coach that were gonna take us elsewhere and weren't even letting adults come (it was for the kids) and a hotel staff came up and essentially stopped them and forced them to give back the deposit. Book your coaches early. They book out quick. Particularly snowboarding.
We also booked an igloo making class for our son and he had an amazing time. Though it's all in Mandarin of course. They have half day and full day camps for kids so parents can drop off and chill for the day.
The staff here can barely speak English so bring your AI translator with you. We had less of a problem since I can speak Chinese but my husband often got stuck and needed me or even my son to help navigate around.
Make sure you go back to the counter after returning your ski gear at the end of your stay to get your deposit back.
We had an amazing time and would consider coming back.

__WeChat57549****We brought our teenager for a skiing trip during the Christmas holidays, our first time at Changbaishan. We chose Wanda Changbaishan International Resort, and the snow quality here is fine and soft, with wide slopes that are suitable for beginners. The resort is built around the ski trails, making it perfect for an immersive skiing experience. If you're not specifically coming for skiing, you don't necessarily need to stay within the resort itself.
The resort facilities are comprehensive, offering everything from equipment rentals to professional coaches. However, you absolutely must book coaches in advance during the ski season (you can search for the 'Wanda Hotels & Resorts Travel Platform' mini-program on WeChat). We couldn't book a coach on-site for our two-day trip; it was extremely difficult to get a last-minute booking.
On the other side of the ski resort, there's a dining area with a rich selection, from light meals to full dinners, all at reasonable prices for a scenic area. Additionally, the resort has hot springs and an indoor playground, great for relaxing after skiing or for family activities. Since our teenager is older, we skipped these; they're more suited for younger children.
My personal opinion is that all the hotels within the resort are quite similar. Since they all include ski passes, there's no need to choose an expensive one. The hotels in Wanda are all a bit older and not very new. Also, most of your time will be spent skiing, so you won't be in the hotel much. Every hotel is within a 3-5 minute walk to the Wanda ski slopes, so just pick one that's a good price!
Overall, the skiing experience with the kids was very satisfying. The snow quality is excellent, and the services are complete. Just remember to book your coach in advance!
AAnnhuiwanThis grand, old-fashioned hotel offers great value for money. All the staff were incredibly welcoming, especially those in the restaurant on the second floor – everyone had a smile on their face. There's a large open field right opposite the hotel, perfect for building snowmen if it snows! This time, I was thrilled to watch fireworks from my room, which was a lovely surprise.
I didn't get to try the hot springs this visit; the outdoor ones apparently only open at 6 PM. Also, the breakfast selection was a bit limited. It would be great if they could add more variety, especially if there are a lot of guests.
SSwingSS.Had a fantastic week-long holiday at Park Hyatt. Upon check-in, the front desk upgraded me to a villa suite, which was very spacious and had excellent heating.
The skiing experience was great! Park Hyatt has its own dedicated slopes, which were much less crowded than the Wanda side.
However, the service quality of the hotel staff was incredibly inconsistent! The front desk at the ski house was very helpful; they managed to find my lost hat, helmet, and gloves. On the other hand, some other staff members had a terrible service attitude, secretly discussing female guests who were out alone. During breakfast, the female staff member who was supposed to register room numbers just kept smiling at me without helping, and when I asked what was so funny, she completely ignored me 😃. My friend, who was staying with me, arrived two days later than me. Despite my prior instructions, she faced huge difficulties checking in because the front desk had completely forgotten what I'd told them and wouldn't let her in. I eventually had to interrupt my ski lesson to pick her up. Speechless 😑. It just goes to show that the excellence of one staff member can't cover up the shortcomings of others.
P.S. The Guo Bao Rou (sweet and sour pork) at the hotel restaurant was absolutely delicious 😋
ZZHUOer-This is my second time at Swiss Chalet and it's absolutely beautiful! You can take amazing photos everywhere, both inside and out. The famous 'blue hour' lighting of Changbai Mountain combined with the chalet makes it feel like you're in Northern Europe. Plus, there's underfloor heating and the breakfast is delicious.

__WeChat58700****Our first stop in Changbai Mountain was the Wanda JinHua Resort Hotel. The service started even before check-in, with the butler proactively contacting me to provide important information. Upon arrival at Changbai Mountain West Station, there was a complimentary shuttle bus waiting for us.
Check-in was incredibly smooth; we were able to get into our room by 12 PM, and the butler even helped us arrange a late check-out, which was a nice touch.
Although the hotel's decor is a bit dated, it still maintains an overall elegant and sophisticated feel. The mattress was exceptionally comfortable, and from the window of our king-sized room, we had a view of the ski resort outside.
The hotel provided numerous benefits, including skiing, hot springs, and access to the water park. Since Changbai Mountain was closed due to heavy snowfall for a few days, we spent all three days at the Wanda Resort. We used one of our passes for night skiing and another one during the day to take the cable car up General Mountain for sightseeing, where there was even a coffee shop at the summit.
Due to time constraints, we didn't get to visit the hot springs or the water park, but we signed up for a hiking tour recommended by the hotel, which was an amazing experience.
It's worth mentioning that the breakfast at JinHua Hotel was excellent! The coffee was particularly delicious, and they even had fruits and noodle soups that catered to southern palates.
The resort town also boasts many great restaurants. We had some ginseng chicken soup, which was wonderfully warming, and the restaurant owners even offered complimentary rides back to the hotel.
Even though we didn't get to visit Changbai Mountain itself, we had an unforgettable three days at the JinHua Resort Hotel and the Wanda Resort. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit!
