Hong Kong eSIM Guide: Best Plans, Setup and Travel Tips

Author's Profile Picture
esim for hong kong
When I arrived in Hong Kong, I needed internet right away but roaming was too expensive and buying a SIM card took time. Using an eSIM made everything easy. I just activated it and I was already online before leaving the airport. I could use Google Maps, message my family, and check apps like MTR Mobile and Octopus without any problem. It’s a simple and stress-free option for travel.
❤️Pro Tip: When planning your visit, consider booking flights to Hong Kong and Hong Kong hotels in advance to secure the best rates.

What is eSIM?

An eSIM is an embedded (electronic) SIM card that lets you connect to a local network in Hong Kong without needing to insert a physical SIM card. It works like a virtual SIM that you can activate on your phone in minutes — no queues, no paperwork, no SIM swapping. With a Hong Kong eSIM, Filipino travelers can enjoy fast, reliable mobile data from the moment they land, avoiding costly roaming charges or the hassle of buying a local SIM. It’s a convenient, flexible way to stay online while exploring Hong Kong!

Who Are the Main Telco Operators in Hong Kong?

Who Are the Main Telco Operators in Hong Kong?

When I used an eSIM in Hong Kong, I didn’t choose the network myself. It just connected automatically. But most eSIMs use these main telcos, so it’s good to know.

CSL: One of the strongest networks in Hong Kong. Signal is good almost everywhere, even inside buildings and on the MTR. Speed is fast and stable.

3HK (Three Hong Kong): Wide coverage and reliable for daily use. Works well for maps, browsing, and social media.

SmarTone: Fast and stable connection, especially in busy areas. Good if you need consistent internet.

China Mobile Hong Kong (CMHK): More budget option. Still works well in most city areas.

💡 Simple Tip: Most eSIM will auto-connect to these networks. You don’t need to set anything. For me, it worked right away after landing
✈️ Pro Tip: If you are planning a trip soon, look for flights to Hong Kong early so you can get better prices and more schedule options.

How to Choose the Best Hong Kong eSIM

The Peak Tram

When I chose my eSIM for Hong Kong, I just kept it simple and focused on what I really needed.

Coverage: Make sure it works well around Hong Kong, especially Kowloon, Hong Kong Island, and New Territories. You’ll rely on maps a lot, so signal must be stable.

Usage: If you just use WhatsApp, Google Maps, and browsing, 1GB per day is enough. If you upload photos or watch videos, go for 2GB or more.

Pricing: Check the price based on your trip days. Don’t just go for the cheapest. Pick what fits your usage.

Flexibility: Better if you can top up easily. Sometimes you need more data than expected.

Services: Choose one that is easy to set up and has support in English. It saves time if you face any issues.

Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong|2.67km from city center
When I booked, I requested a high floor, a quiet room, and a good sea view. Upon check-in, the front desk lady recommended a sea view room on the 15th floor. Although it was a bit smaller than the sea view rooms on lower floors, it felt larger than I expected once I was in it, about 20-something square meters. I borrowed a power adapter from the hotel, and they were very prompt in refilling bottled water for free during my stay. Aside from the room decor looking a bit dated, everything else was fine. The location is also very convenient, right next to the Star Ferry Terminal, Avenue of Stars, and Harbour City.

Excellent in every aspect, a very satisfying stay! The hotel is quietly located yet close to the city's hustle and bustle. The room was spacious and bright, spotlessly clean. The bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The front desk staff and service personnel were all exceptionally warm and attentive, and the breakfast selection was extensive. I will definitely choose this hotel again for my next visit and recommend it to my friends!

I stayed here years ago when I visited HK, and chose it again this time because I was in Mong Kok. The facilities have been renovated and are very clean. I booked a superior king room this time, which had both a shower and a bathtub, and the hot water was great. The air conditioning in the room was also very strong. The hotel's surroundings haven't changed much from before; it's right by the Langham Place shopping mall, making transportation and shopping very convenient. Mong Kok MTR station is just a stone's throw away, and it's also easy to get a taxi or ride-share from the ground floor. The housekeeping service was very thorough (even my phone charging cables were tidied up nicely), and the front desk staff were very welcoming. My flight was a bit earlier this time, and they even arranged an early check-in, which made for a very comfortable experience. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Mong Kok.

After our Disney trip, we headed to downtown Hong Kong 🇭🇰. Since my mom was the main organizer this time and we had a child with us, I specifically chose a hotel near a MTR station! 📍 Royal Plaza Hotel, Hong Kong 🚇: Mong Kok East Station / Prince Edward Station (about a six-minute walk) 🏬: Hotel located within a mall, super convenient for shopping. 🍴: Tsui Wah Restaurant, McDonald's, Tai Er Sauerkraut Fish, Coucou Hotpot, etc. Most hotels in Hong Kong have a 3 PM check-in, so we dropped off our luggage and went out to explore! By the time we got back, our room was ready 👌. The room came with two 1.35-meter double beds, a bathtub, and toiletries. The space was surprisingly generous, easily accommodating four people. Although it's an older hotel in Hong Kong, the facilities have been renovated, and the bathroom was spotless with no mildew. Since we checked in on a Friday (Hong Kong hotels raise prices on weekends) and there were concerts happening in Hong Kong these days, the room rate was a bit higher 📈, which made it a bit pricey [crying emoji]. However, with the mall and MTR station nearby, it was still a decent overall choice!

The Regal Hotel was the biggest surprise of our Greater Bay Area trip, exceeding all expectations! While an older hotel, it's very well-maintained, spotlessly clean, and the bedding and mattress were incredibly comfortable and soft. The absolute best part is its superb location in Causeway Bay, offering excellent transport links. We arrived from Zhuhai via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, and the A11 bus takes you directly to the hotel. For our return to mainland China, there's a CTS (China Travel Service) bus ticket office right next to the hotel entrance. You can buy tickets a day in advance for easy access to Shenzhen Port, Shenzhen Airport, and various cities in Guangdong. During our stay in Hong Kong, we walked to Sogo, Hysan Place, and Times Square, and there were plenty of dining options nearby. To get to Wan Chai Pier for the Star Ferry, you can catch a 'ding ding' tram right outside the hotel, and the MTR station is also very close, making getting around incredibly convenient. Finally, a special thanks to the hotel for providing a birthday cake 🎂 and red wine for my friend, which made for a wonderful birthday celebration in Hong Kong.

The front desk staff member was incredibly polite and well-mannered. The one wearing glasses seemed to be around 173-175cm tall. My friends who went to check in earlier were told there were no rooms available and had to wait, but this staff member immediately and proactively helped arrange one for us. It felt like encountering a true lifesaver, and I'm so grateful and appreciative! Thumbs up for him. Although the room wasn't huge, it was quite clean. There weren't any disposable shower gels, which would have been a nice touch. Anyway, I'm still giving a perfect score because of that staff member's excellent service attitude! 💯

Tsuen Wan Hong Kong|7.97km from city center
Traveling to Hong Kong with my kids and parents, this hotel offered the best value for money. The room was over 40 square meters, had a bathtub, and a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. The sea view room had a fantastic view, offering panoramic vistas of Tsuen Wan's coastline from every angle. The hotel also has a pool and a gym. There's a reception desk on the 46th floor with a large outdoor terrace where you can enjoy the sea view and coffee. The front desk mentioned the building has 87 floors in total. Downstairs, there are two shopping malls, Nina Mall and Tsuen Wan New Town Plaza, both great for shopping and dining. It's incredibly convenient.

HongKong International Airport Hong Kong|24.17km from city center
I booked this hotel for a layover, and it's right next to the airport. After clearing customs, you just follow the signs on your left, and you'll get there. We arrived at the front desk around 1 AM, and there was a long queue. They only had one counter open, so it was incredibly slow. We waited over twenty minutes to check in, and behind me, there were almost twenty more people, all looking utterly exhausted. It was genuinely annoying. Definitely needs improvement! The front desk staff saw we had a child and kindly upgraded our room (thank you!). It's an older, large hotel with many rooms. The facilities are a bit dated, but they're well-maintained. The room size was quite generous for Hong Kong standards. There's a QR code on the nightstand that takes you to a webpage for room service, and they respond pretty quickly. I'd say the cleanliness was just okay, but since it was just for one night, my expectations weren't too high. The shower in the bathroom is over the bathtub. There's no bottled water, but there are water dispensers in the hotel corridors. Breakfast is on the ground floor. I took a quick look, and the quality seemed decent, with a good variety of options. No takeaways allowed, though. I was in a hurry, so I didn't get to sit down and eat. The room rates fluctuate quite a bit, so you need to keep an eye on them. Including tax, they can range from 700+ to 1300+. I booked mine for 900+.

This is my second stay at The Empire Hotel. The last time, I stayed at the Wan Chai branch and the room was quite small, had a bathtub, and generally felt a bit dated. This time, I brought my mom and saw many bloggers recommending hotels in Causeway Bay online, which seemed pretty good. The reality lived up to the descriptions. The front desk staff, perhaps seeing I was with my 70+ year old mother, upgraded us to a larger room with a view of the harbor, which was a huge bonus! 👍 The room was also cleaned thoroughly every day, which I really appreciate. 😃 However, it would be even better if the hotel's breakfast could be a bit more refined. 😁

The hotel's location is good, on Hennessy Road and not far from Wan Chai MTR station. There are also 'ding ding' trams nearby, making it quite convenient for getting around. The hotel environment is just average. On the first night of my two-day stay, the 3rd floor was particularly noisy with strange sounds, and I barely slept. The second day, I was moved to the 15th floor, and there were no issues, so overall it was okay. I checked in quite late and checked out early, but I guess that's common for hotels in Hong Kong! It's great that you can store your luggage for the whole day. I'd say it's comparable to a 3-star hotel in mainland China.

I had a great stay at Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong and I’m truly impressed by their service. After checking out, I realized that I had forgotten three items in the room. Honestly, I didn’t even expect to get them back — but the hotel staff managed to locate all of them and returned everything to me. That was amazing and really exceeded my expectations. It shows how professional and trustworthy their team is. The location is also a huge plus. The hotel is directly above and next to a mall, which makes it super convenient to find something to eat or grab anything you need. Our 'standard room' (902) was advertised as a corner room, and while it wasn't exactly that, the view was still great, almost directly overlooking Kowloon Park. I also didn't experience any of the renovation noise that some other reviews mentioned. After a tiring journey, it took me a while to find the hotel entrance. It's actually not on Nathan Road, but on Kimberley Road (Miramar Tower Two), right next to Coach. The hotel is very close to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station Exit B2, and the surrounding area is excellent for exploring. I'd suggest upgrading the duvets, though. The down filling isn't fluffy anymore; it's a bit lumpy in places.

This place really needs a renovation after 20 years. The cleanliness was still on point, but the toiletries have been swapped for large, generic bottles, which really cheapens the experience. When I showered, I found the shampoo and hand cream bottles were in the wrong dispensers. The staff had to come and switch them out, and even they admitted it was a ridiculous mistake. I stayed two nights specifically to enjoy Disneyland without hassle. While Hong Kong Disneyland is smaller, the hotel is quite a distance from the park; it takes a long walk and a bus ride, unlike Shanghai Disneyland where you can just take a ferry. The standard rooms in Hong Kong are considered quite spacious. The in-room facilities are pretty standard, but I have to complain that the window couldn't be opened and there weren't enough power outlets (none by the bed), which made charging multiple devices a hassle. For towels, they only provided bath towels and a bath mat, no face towels. The shampoo and other toiletries were of average quality, but they didn't provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, or razors, so you have to bring your own. There wasn't even bottled water! However... the location is truly excellent, extremely convenient. My wife had the best and cheapest beef brisket here. If you're just here for sightseeing and shopping, what more could you ask for?

Service: Both the front desk and room service were great. We accidentally pressed 'do not disturb' on our first day, so the cleaning staff didn't come in. After calling room service, someone quickly came to change the trash bag and provide fresh towels. The hotel is very close to the airport bus arrival point, just a one-minute walk. For departures to the airport, it's a bit further, about a 15-minute walk. Overall, it's very convenient for taking the A21 bus to and from the airport. Facilities: One minor issue was that the soundproofing wasn't great. It seemed like we had a connecting room with a door that directly let in noise from next door. A couple who were early risers and late sleepers kept us up from night until morning. The hotel does provide earplugs, but if you're sensitive to noise, you might want to reconsider. Oh, and you'll need a universal adapter for the hotel; they provide one, but if you have many devices, I'd recommend bringing an extra. Overall, it's good value for money, very convenient for getting to Tsim Sha Tsui, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. It's about 50 minutes to Disneyland.

Downstairs, there are plenty of options for food and drinks, and the surrounding buildings also have many eateries. However, for shopping, you'd need to go elsewhere as there aren't many options nearby. Using Alipay or WeChat for the MTR (subway) was very convenient, but for the 'ding ding' trams, you'll need cash or an Octopus card. The hotel's location and environment are great. It's about a 5-10 minute walk to the subway, and the beach is nearby, offering a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle. However, the hotel has a serious issue: there's a huge roaring sound outside the room window at night. I'm not sure if it's an old exhaust vent or something else, but I barely slept the first night. The second night, the front desk helped me switch to another side, where the noise was softer but still audible. Personally, I feel this significantly impacts the guest experience, and I suggest they fix it soon.

Hotels in Hong Kong are generally like this; you can't expect too much. However, what sets this one apart is the 24-hour coffee service. Some say it's not great, but just having a place where you can always get a hot coffee and relax is a huge plus. In the morning, there are even more coffee options and a variety of bread. While simple, these little touches, including the breakfast service staff, all come at a cost. It's truly rare and commendable that the hotel maintains this standard.

The hygiene was acceptable, clean and tidy. The room had an air purification system, but the scent was too strong. The UV sterilization inside the air filter was constantly on, which can easily lead to an accumulation of ozone in the room. It was really uncomfortable not being able to open the windows. The facilities were a bit old but still functional. This hotel has convenient transportation, a shuttle bus, and a supermarket and restaurants downstairs which are very handy. The service was also good; the staff were very polite and helpful, always ready to answer any questions.

My first visit was a whirlwind, so I basically only slept at the hotel. But I really enjoyed the breakfast, which is why I chose The Langham again for my second trip to Hong Kong. This second stay made me realize what a great location it has. It's just across the street from Harbour City, very close to Nathan Road, and within walking distance of Victoria Harbour and Tsim Sha Tsui. My child wasn't feeling well, so we spent most of our time resting at the hotel, which allowed us to fully experience The Langham Club. The staff were incredibly attentive and polite, and the food was fresh and delicious. It would be even more perfect if the toilet in the bathroom were a smart one.

HongKong International Airport Hong Kong|23.37km from city center
A pleasant and convenient hotel located very close to Hong Kong International Airport. The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from the airport, which makes it a good option for early flights or events nearby. I stayed here while attending an event at AsiaWorld-Expo. It was very convenient, as the venue is close and reachable on foot, partly via covered walkways. There are a few basic options inside AsiaWorld-Expo, including a 7-Eleven and Starbucks, but it takes about 10 minutes to walk there. The room itself is small but functional. The bathroom and shower are separate. There are two large towels and two small towels. The sink is located in the room, not inside the bathroom. Toiletries are provided, including toothbrushes, cotton pads, and cotton swabs. Everything was clean and well maintained. To avoid waiting until the standard 3:00 PM check-in time, I was offered an early check-in with a twin room, which I accepted. The room felt quite compact, and the second bed takes up a lot of space, so it can easily become a luggage area if you are staying alone. In the room, there is a kettle, tea, a couple of tea bags, coffee, a safe, and bottled water. A carafe is provided, and you can refill clean drinking water on your floor. You just need to call reception by dialing zero, and they will tell you where the water dispenser is located on your floor. There is not much around the hotel at ground level. On-site, there is a restaurant serving breakfast, as well as vending machines with simple snacks, cookies, and soft drinks. For more options, you need to walk to the nearby shopping area or AsiaWorld-Expo. My room windows faced another hotel, the Marriott, so there was no view, but it was very quiet. No airplane noise at all, which was a nice surprise for an airport hotel. Overall, the hotel is clean, comfortable, and very practical for airport stays or nearby events. Everything worked well, and I would rate it 5 stars for convenience and functionality.

This hotel offers fantastic first-line sea view rooms right on Victoria Harbour. You can walk straight to Harbour City along the waterfront. The location is incredibly convenient, with a metro station right outside the main entrance, making travel a breeze. The hotel breakfast is rich and varied, and the service is excellent. The only downside is the pool, which is extremely small and completely unsuitable for swimming – it's more like a splash pool for kids.

The hotel has an excellent location. You can take the A10 bus directly from the airport to the hotel for about 40 HKD. It's right next to the University of Hong Kong and the waterfront, with plenty of food options nearby. There's a 'ding ding' tram stop right outside that goes to Causeway Bay, and the MTR station isn't far either. The only downsides are that the rooms are quite small and the beds aren't very big; even our triple room wasn't a sea-view room. This is pretty typical for hotels in downtown Hong Kong though – if you want bigger rooms and beds, you generally have to stay further out. Overall, it was good. 1300 HKD a night during the Chinese New Year holiday isn't cheap, but you're paying for the convenience of the transportation.

Many “wow” factors from my stay on 21–22 March. I was lucky to receive a room upgrade and the room was incredibly spacious. The receptionist was very welcoming and every staff member showed genuine hospitality. The shuttle driver was also very polite. Even when I requested for late check-out at 12:00, they were happy to accommodate. I would definitely return—this is the only hotel in Hong Kong that truly impressed me for this time. Compared to the other hotels I stayed at during this trip. This was the perfect way to end my last night in HK The hotel is very convenient with easy access to shopping areas via the shuttle service and there is also a tram station located close to the hotel if you will go central area

The hotel exceeded my expectations! It was great 😊 I took lots of photos of my room and the hotel to share with everyone, hoping to help more people! Here's a point-by-point review of my stay: 1. The hotel provided glass mouthwash cups, disposable toothbrushes, and toothpaste (I thought they wouldn't, as Trip.com stated they weren't provided, and I'd heard online that Hong Kong hotels don't offer them, haha – this was a pleasant surprise! They were already prepared for me when I entered the room). 2. There were several large, thick bath towels and hand towels (I thought there wouldn't be any, so I even brought my own disposable bath towel, haha~). 3. Luggage storage was free (I thought it would cost money!), which made me very happy. 4. The hotel also had a safe, a refrigerator, drinks, a coffee machine, a desk, a bathtub, a wet/dry separation shower, and the room was super spacious! It was even bigger than hotels in mainland China (I took many pictures – I was so surprised and delighted!). 5. The front desk staff who checked me in was very polite, gentle, and patient! He even proactively upgraded my room type, thank you! 6. The restaurant was excellent! The view was beautiful, you can sit by the window – it's stunning! You can see Victoria Harbour! You can also go to the outdoor observation deck for photos. 7. The hotel restaurant staff were very thoughtful and helped me pack my breakfast, providing me with a takeaway box, a bag, and chopsticks (free of charge!). They even told me to take more of what I liked. Hehe! The young man who helped me with the takeaway box was very kind, a cheerful and handsome guy! 8. The shower gel smelled wonderful (I took a picture). 9. The front desk staff who checked me in was also good, but his expression was a bit stiff, haha. There's a difference compared to the guy who checked me in earlier! Maybe the service attitude of each front desk staff member is different, haha. The hotel management should really strengthen training, as I saw many negative reviews complaining about the front desk's service attitude. Then, before checking out, I consulted a front desk lady – wow, she was so beautiful, and her smile was especially warm and gentle! She was great! This is the difference between different front desk staff! The hotel is quite expensive, but I hope friends from the mainland can feel the warmth and smiles of the front desk instead of stiff faces, haha. Hotel management, I hope you strengthen training, haha. I wish you all smooth work and happy days!

Sha Tin Hong Kong|7.52km from city center
This hotel offers good value for money in Sha Tin. It's about a 10-minute walk from Sha Tin Wai MTR Station Exit A, located by the Sha Tin River, making it convenient with a great view. There are many small shops and eateries nearby, easily found on Dianping. The 'Char Siu King' is good, and next door is a 7-Eleven. A bit further down, there's a mini noodle stall that's excellent value. The hotel rooms are spacious, and we received a free upgrade with a late check-out until 1 PM. The check-in and check-out processes were very efficient, and the hygiene was satisfactory. Just outside the window, you can see rolling hills, offering a pleasant view. To get to Sha Tin Park for activities, you just walk through a tunnel and over a bridge, taking less than twenty minutes. The Sha Tin River is quite clean, and you can even see rowing training in the mornings. The only downside is that the facilities are a bit dated. While everything works fine, the hairdryer plug tends to come loose from the socket below the TV. Hopefully, they can look into that. Overall, it's comfortable and convenient. Recommended.

🏨 First Impression: The lobby is green, and my heart feels light! 🛏️ Guest Room: Fish-shaped floor, a toilet tucked in the corner, and a fridge full of ”freebies.” The first thing I saw upon entering was sunshine streaming through the windows. On the 15th floor, not too high, not too low. There was a huge black leather lounge chair by the window, practically begging you to lie back, put your feet up, and close your eyes to soak in the sun. And that's exactly what I did – the sunlight poured through the glass, warming me up. I just lay there, not thinking about anything. This must be what they call 'stealing a moment of leisure from a busy life.' The bathroom layout was cleverly designed – the toilet was tucked away in the very corner, out of the way but perfectly accessible. The shower floor had a fish-scale pattern, which was both non-slip and attractive. It would be even more perfect if the scales were embossed (reducing slip risk even further!). But the best part was the mini-fridge. I was about to check the price list when I saw the card next to it: ”All items are complimentary.” It wasn't a case of one free bottle and then charging for the rest. The entire fridge was free. At that moment, my rating for this hotel instantly shot up by 20 points. 🌊 The Divine 9th Floor: Bar + Pool + Lounge Chairs = I didn't want to leave! The open-air swimming pool is right next to the bar. 🚭 The Strictest Rule: Smoking fine of HKD 3000. There was a sign in the room: ”Smoking fine HKD 3000.” It wasn't a 'friendly reminder'; it was clearly stated in black and white, impossible to miss. Why do I appreciate this? Because this rule completely eliminates smoke odors. You don't have to worry about opening your door to a blast of second-hand smoke, or waking up with your hair smelling like an ashtray. It's because of the sunshine, the greenery, the free mini-fridge, the perfectly placed toilet in the corner, the ability to swim on the 9th floor with a sea breeze, and the bar where you can hold video conferences – all these things combined make for a truly comfortable stay. The facilities might not be the newest, but everything feels 'thoughtful.' It's one of those hotels where theory and practice merge – what the designer envisioned, the staff delivered, and it all translates into an excellent guest experience. I'll most likely stay here again on my next visit to Hong Kong.

Participating in the Standard Chartered Marathon, The Peninsula is undoubtedly the best choice – you can literally step out of the hotel and onto the racecourse. When I checked in, I requested a late checkout. The staff, knowing it was for the marathon, actively coordinated and even arranged a great room with a Nathan Road street view, which was perfect for observing the pre-race situation. Pros: The hotel boasts an excellent location. Stepping out the back door, you pass by a garden terrace and directly reach the promenade, where many locals stroll and exercise, creating a vibrant atmosphere. You can hike all the way to K11 along the coast. While it's not in the prime Victoria Harbour area, the location is still very good and offers great value for money. Although the facilities are a bit dated, they are well-maintained. The mini-fridge comes with 6 complimentary cans of drinks and beer, which are restocked daily. Bottled water isn't provided, but there's a large Philips water dispenser offering four temperature settings from room temperature to 95°C, and it's refilled daily. The staff are all very warm and polite; my friend and I certainly didn't experience any 'overly preferential treatment for foreigners.' They allowed us to check in early and even gave us a high-floor room (perhaps due to our Shangri-La Circle membership). If you miss the room cleaning time, just let the housekeeping staff know, and they'll take care of it when they're free. The poolside downstairs is popular with foreigners sunbathing, and the outdoor bar is perfect for a couple of drinks with a sea breeze and candlelight in the evening. There's a Starbucks downstairs, though the queue can be long. The hotel is located near the quiet residential community of Whampoa, with many restaurants about a 10-minute walk away. Cons: The hotel is a bit of a walk from the nearest MTR station (Whampoa Station, Exit C2), taking about 8-10 minutes through the residential area. The closest 7-Eleven is also there. While the Kwun Tong Line is convenient, it might be a bit far for those who dislike walking. The hotel rooms have central air conditioning, and it gets really cold! If you're sensitive to cold, remember to ask the hotel to adjust the temperature up when you check in. My friend almost froze in the middle of the night and had to ask the front desk to change the temperature then. Summary: Overall, the experience was almost perfect, and I would definitely consider staying here again.

The location is superb, within walking distance of Exhibition Centre Station and Wan Chai Station, making it incredibly convenient to access two different MTR lines. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with a wide variety of choices, and the service was friendly and polite. While the room facilities felt a little dated, they were complete and thoughtfully laid out. The only downsides were the hotel lobby, which was quite dim and required careful navigation around the steps. And if the lobby was dim, the room lighting was even worse, especially in the desk area. I had some urgent work to do on my computer that day, and even with all the lights around the desk turned on, it still wasn't bright enough. I even checked my parents' room to see if it was any better, but it wasn't. After less than two hours of working, my eyes and mind were both exhausted. I'd advise anyone who prefers brightly lit rooms to think twice before booking here.

The Mandarin Oriental, though not ostentatious, is perfectly nestled in the bustling city center, making access incredibly convenient. While the facilities show their age slightly, they are meticulously maintained – floors gleam, handrails feel smooth, exuding an old-world elegance throughout. The doormen and most restaurant staff speak Mandarin, offering a warm and friendly service. At the front desk, while some Hong Kong-native staff might not be as proficient, English works just fine if you speak slowly. My favorite was the elderly gentleman at the baggage counter; every time he saw us, he greeted us like a kind uncle from next door, his warmth always a comfort. The welcome towel and drink were perfect for unwinding. Though the chocolate amenity was replaced by an orange this time, it was refreshing. The fruit knife, probably meant for butter, was too dull to cut anything, so I just peeled the orange by hand – it was actually quite amusing. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with authentic dishes and attentive service. The only slight issue was that the seating staff were a bit busy, so we had to wait a little. Also, the billing process was a bit odd; sometimes they asked for a signature, sometimes not, but I just let it be. I heard this was Leslie Cheung's last stop before he passed away. I wonder if he also used this same dull knife that couldn't cut an orange when he stayed here? Now that we've come, all I feel is a sense of peaceful serenity, with many others also coming to seek a connection to his memory.

Upon reaching the hotel using navigation, staff immediately approached to guide us, everything was very organized. Check-in at the front desk was smooth, conducted entirely in Mandarin, and the staff were very friendly and polite. Our room was on a higher floor, located at the end of the corridor. The room size was compact, and the ceiling wasn't very high, but the overall decor had a nice, quality feel to it. They provided two large glass bottles of water, and there was a fridge and a safe.
