Worried that the eSIM wouldn't work well, I bought a physical SIM card and picked it up at Hong Kong airport. It was very convenient; surprisingly, both the eSIM and the physical SIM worked very well. The network was quite good, but Hong Kong was too crowded—skyscrapers, narrow streets—it felt very oppressive.
