Hong Kong Arrival Card

Entering Hong Kong is now faster than ever for Filipino travelers. As of October 16, 2024, the Hong Kong Immigration Department officially scrapped the Arrival Card requirement, meaning there are no more paper or digital forms to fill out before you land. In 2026, all you need is your Philippine passport (valid for 6 months) and proof of your return ticket for a seamless, 14-day visa-free entry.

❤️Pro Tip: When planning your visit, consider booking flights from Manila to Hong Kong and Hong Kong hotels in advance to secure the best rates.

What Changed?

The Peak Tram

For decades, visitors had to fill out a small white slip or an online declaration. This is now fully abolished.

  • No Paper Slips: You won't be handed forms on the plane.
  • No Online Forms: There is no digital replacement or QR code to register for before your flight.
  • Direct Entry: You simply walk up to the immigration counter with your travel documents.

Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong|2.67km from city center
It's very close to Harbour City, but if you're not specifically there for shopping, you might want to reconsider. It's next to the Star Ferry, about a 5-8 minute walk. I can tolerate the old, musty smell in the room, as I expected it. But couldn't they fix the door stopper on the bathroom door? It's fine if things are old, but broken items shouldn't be there. Please check the items for sale again. The room size is considered very large for Hong Kong, but I didn't have time to enjoy the outside view anyway. There was no water in the room, just this one bottle. I'd like to know what it's for? Is it free or charged? Is this nostalgic bottle meant to be a piece of art? It's quite far from both Tsim Sha Tsui and East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR stations. Even if you're close to an MTR station, you'll still have to walk at least 10 minutes inside. It's very inconvenient with large suitcases, and you have to walk 10 minutes just to find food. Not recommended for families with children or those with a lot of luggage. Time is also a cost.

Love everything about this hotel! The location is very nice, even it's not in the middle of Tsim Sha Tsui but close enough to walk, ~10mins for walking to Tsim Sha Tsui. K11 Art mall is in the middle on the way from hotel to Tsim Sha Tsui so we stopped by for popular tea shops, CHAGEE and Heytea, everyday during our stay in this hotel. We booked premier room to enjoy the sea view and it's worth it! The hotel is located on the Mody road which have a beautiful Christmas decorations that can be seen from our hotel room, Avenue of Stars is also across the road. Room is true to pictures, all amenities are provided everyday, all staffs we met are easy approach and helpful. Highly recommended for anyone who's looking for luxury hotel in a budget!

This is a fantastic hotel! The front desk staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and the lobby always had a lovely scent. The location is absolutely perfect – you can get to the hotel lobby directly from Mong Kok MTR Exit C, just head up to the fourth floor. Plus, it's connected to a huge shopping mall where you can ride Hong Kong's longest escalator. This stay completely changed my previous negative impression of Hong Kong accommodations. My only regret this time was not being able to try the hotel breakfast! I highly recommend booking a package that includes breakfast, because finding good food in Hong Kong can be quite challenging!

For my relatives' trip to Hong Kong, I booked the Royal Plaza Hotel in Mong Kok for them. As a hotel situated in the bustling heart of Mong Kok, it perfectly balances vibrancy with tranquility! The moment you step into the lobby, the elegant design instantly puts you at ease. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the staff were friendly and welcoming with smiles. The room itself was spacious – a 33-square-meter guest room in Hong Kong is definitely 'luxury' level. The interior was cozy, with soft lighting and high-quality wood-grain furniture, creating a homely feel. What was most satisfying was how incredibly clean the room was, with tidy bedding and even the smallest details spotless. Plus, it comes with a direct drinking water system, which is fantastic for tea lovers! 👍 The bathroom facilities were also a highlight. The separate bathtub allowed for a relaxing soak, washing away the day's fatigue. In terms of location, the Royal Plaza Hotel truly has the upper hand. It's directly connected to Mong Kok East MTR Station and the large MOKO shopping mall. Whether you're heading to Tsim Sha Tsui for the Star Ferry or Causeway Bay for some retail therapy, transportation is incredibly convenient! The surrounding area is also a paradise for eating, shopping, and entertainment. In just a few minutes' walk, you can reach特色attractions like Goldfish Market and Sneaker Street, allowing you to experience authentic Hong Kong culture anytime.

Wan Chai and Causeway Bay Hong Kong|4.81km from city center
Location can't be beat; it was very convenient to take the A11 bus from the airport which stops right in front of the hotel. Causeway Bay is just a few minutes away. However, like other reviews have said, the hotel is very dated and tired. My room reeked of cigarette smell and there was never an answer from the front desk or duty manager. When I finally got a hold of someone, they sent a staff member with an aerosol can to spray some floral scented spray but that was not going to do anything but mask the smell. No air purifiers offered and was told the hotel was fully booked so I couldn't change rooms. The room itself was very spacious but I was not confident in the cleanliness of the room due to finding cigarette ash and dust and hair throughout. A housekeeping staff member entered my room within 5 seconds of knocking at 8am on the second morning asking about the TV working even though I had not requested anything. I bet the hotel was very lovely in the 90s but today it is clearly struggling to maintain its grandeur. I think if you are considering this hotel you should manage your expectations and if you don't mind older facilities and limited customer service, it may still be worth the convenience of the location and room size. I probably would not choose to come back without an extensive renovation.

Sha Tin Hong Kong|8.21km from city center
The hotel is very new. The family room with two double beds was perfect for two adults and two children. Our high-floor room had a great view from the floor-to-ceiling windows. It's not on a main road, so it was completely quiet at night. It's about a 7-8 minute walk to the MTR station, and it takes around 30 minutes by MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui. There are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets near the MTR station. We booked a room without breakfast, but decided to buy it the day before at the front desk for 110 HKD per person. As other guests mentioned, the breakfast selection is quite limited. However, considering a bowl of noodles at a Hong Kong *cha chaan teng* (local diner) can cost 40-50 HKD, it's not too expensive. If you want to save money, you could always grab something from the convenience store downstairs.

Tsuen Wan Hong Kong|7.97km from city center
Hong Kong is known for its high property prices, so to get a spacious sea-view room, I chose the L'hotel. The hotel lobby wasn't easy to find, and the navigation wasn't very accurate. I circled the bus terminal downstairs for a while, mainly because there were no hotel signs along the main route. I had to keep asking for directions until I reached the shopping mall on the first floor that leads to the hotel lobby. The hotel reception is on the 41st floor. Upon check-in, I was upgraded to a suite. The room was indeed large, with one bedroom, one living room, one kitchen, and two bathrooms – spacious and bright, offering sea views in the morning. The downside was a strong urine odor as soon as I entered the bathroom. I called a staff member who only brushed the toilet. It smelled good right after, but the urine odor returned almost immediately. Later, I discovered the smell was coming from the shower area. I ran hot water through the shower for a long time – am I supposed to be the cleaner here? It was quite a mood killer. Secondly, there was no bottled water in the room, only a water dispenser. The dispenser was dusty, and after boiling a few cups, it ran out of water. I asked the front desk, and they said I could just fill it from the tap. But tap water isn't safe to drink directly! There was no direct drinking water tap at all, so I decided not to drink. However, I got thirsty late at night and called for assistance. The staff member, still very cold, said they only had tap water and no bottled water. The tap water was too cold to drink since it wasn't potable, and the hot water would take a long time to heat. I was extremely thirsty, and it was inconvenient to go out and buy water in the middle of the night, especially since the hotel is in a remote location and I probably wouldn't find any anyway. It was truly frustrating and incredibly unaccommodating. Lastly, this expensive hotel is just that – expensive – with no human touch. The service lacked warmth, and attention to detail was poor. There wasn't even a sewing kit in the room. The front desk proactively upgraded me to a suite, even though I had already booked a sea-view room. Why was my original sea-view room sold off and not kept for me? Would my sea-view room also not have bottled water? This feels like a disguised deprivation of my rights, plus I had to pay a deposit that takes 14 working days to refund. All in all, it was a very poor value for money night, and my only wish during the stay was to check out as quickly as possible.

HongKong International Airport Hong Kong|24.17km from city center
The room was spacious, and the two 1.5-meter beds were very comfortable. The only issue was that I booked two nights on separate reservations. On the first day, when I checked in, they said they'd link both nights and activate the room key. However, on the second day, the key didn't work, and I couldn't get in. Even with my child, the staff insisted I go to the front desk to reactivate the card before they would open the door for us. It was clearly the hotel's mistake for not linking my two separate bookings for both days. It was such a hassle, running back and forth. The upside is that the hotel is directly connected to the airport, which is very convenient. The shuttle bus staff downstairs were incredibly friendly, polite, and helpful with information on how to get around. A big thank you to those two. Thumbs up!

This hotel was a last-minute, unplanned booking. Rooms on Saturday were several times more expensive than usual, so I adjusted my expectations given the price. The room itself was pretty clean and tidy, but the bed was tiny. The dark wallpaper made the room feel dim, and while there was a short, narrow desk, I had to make do with the windowsill for extra space. There were no toiletries in the bathroom, and the disposable slippers fell apart immediately. Checking out before 11 AM after being out felt a bit rushed and chaotic. The hotel staff were professional and polite, and the location was good. I guess it served its purpose.

The room was decent, though a bit small. Getting around was really convenient, with the MTR and bus stops right nearby, and K11 mall isn't far either. The pier is also close by, where you can catch the Star Ferry. There are two routes: one to Central, where you can ride the observation wheel for three loops at a great value of HKD 20. The other route goes to Wan Chai, which has a beautiful light show, but it requires a ticket. For groups of three or more, it's HKD 185 per person.

The pros are that even though the room is tiny, it's clean, tidy, and quite cozy. It has all the essentials like a fridge, safe, and hairdryer. The location is excellent, just a 3-5 minute walk to the MTR station and tram stop, and 15 minutes on foot to the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and the luggage storage area is spacious. The security staff are friendly and helpful, and the soundproofing is decent. The city view from the window is also quite nice. The cons are that the room is genuinely too small, especially the toilet area which is a tight squeeze, and the furniture is quite old.

Five-star review! (^ω^)👍🏻 The hotel environment is great, the room is spacious enough, and the cleanliness is excellent. Having a direct drinking water dispenser is very convenient, and it also comes with a mini-fridge, a safe, and an iron. The hotel staff are very enthusiastic. The cleaning lady was especially kind and even told us about fun places to visit and how to get around using public transport. The location is superb! Across the road is the International Shopping Centre and Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station Exit C1. Next to the shopping center, there's a street with a Hong Kong-style 'cha chaan teng' (tea restaurant) that has lots of delicious food – we went there four times during our four-night stay! 😂 Chungking Mansions and Mirador Mansion are right next door. Jenny Bakery for Jenny's Cookies is on the second floor of Mirador Mansion, just a few minutes' walk away. However, you need to go early to queue, preferably before 9 AM, and be prepared to pay with cash. It's also very close to Victoria Harbour's Avenue of Stars and the Hong Kong Museum of Art, about a 10-minute walk. It's super convenient to stroll along the Avenue of Stars in the morning and enjoy the night view and light show in the evening. If I visit again, I would definitely choose this hotel!

This is my fourth stay at The Kowloon Hotel, and it consistently wins me over with its excellent location and high-quality service. Overall, I find the soft services to be great, but the hardware facilities are showing their age. This time, I stayed in two different room types over four nights: a low-floor twin room and a high-floor partial sea view room. First, about the low-floor superior twin room: Due to its location, it felt quite damp. On the first night, the duvet was uncomfortably cold and clammy (my previous three stays were in partial sea view rooms, this was my first time on a lower floor). The window overlooked the restaurant of the hotel next door, so there wasn't much of a view. Turning on the air purifier in the room seemed to help mitigate the dampness slightly. Now, for the partial sea view room: The Victoria Harbour view was right there, and while not a full sea view, it still offered lovely glimpses of boats coming and going, perfect for sunbathing and relaxing. Being on a higher floor with plenty of sunlight, it wasn't damp at all, and the bedding was comfortable. It really drove home the point that you get what you pay for. By the way, the two manager uncles in the lobby are quite handsome!

Extremely satisfied with my choice of hotel! I spent two hours sifting through reviews of other hotels before settling on this one, and it was definitely worth it. First off, 23 square meters is considered quite spacious for this area. It has wooden floors instead of carpets, so there's no unpleasant odor. Disposable slippers and reusable toiletries are provided. You can buy toothbrushes at the front desk for just 2 HKD, which is a great deal. The room comes with a universal adapter, and you can also rent or buy one from the front desk, which is a huge plus! I booked a family suite, and the room even came with some snacks. The breakfast and afternoon tea buffets didn't have a huge variety, but there was certainly enough to fill you up. There's no free water in the room, but they kindly provided a large bottle on the first night. The location is super convenient, just a few minutes' walk from the MTR station. Downstairs, there are plenty of small restaurants, supermarkets, fruit shops, and dessert shops. My whole family loved it and was very satisfied!

The hotel is very close to Prince Edward MTR station, and there's a bus stop right outside, so the transportation is excellent. The staff's service attitude is also great, especially the cleaning aunties; they even fold your pajamas when making the bed. The room is very small. The one I stayed in cost over 600 [currency, e.g., HKD/RMB] and was similar to a 600+ room in Osaka – hardly any extra space, you can't open two suitcases at the same time. My room was facing the street, and the traffic noise at night was quite loud, so light sleepers should be cautious. All in all, it's worth staying if the price is good, but it might feel a bit overpriced during peak season.

It's also right next to Tin Shui Wai Park, perfect for a pleasant stroll. Transportation is incredibly convenient, with the Light Rail Ginza Station practically on its doorstep, getting you to Tsim Sha Tsui in just 30 minutes – hassle-free travel. The room itself, at 36-38 sqm, was spacious and bright. The bedding was clean and comfortable, and the entire space was tidy and odor-free, showing great attention to detail. While disposable toothbrushes and complimentary bottled water weren't provided, this is actually in line with Hong Kong's 'plastic-free' environmental policy, and the hotel offered thoughtful alternatives. I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Considering the price and location in Hong Kong, it felt surprisingly luxurious. The queen size bed was spacious and comfortable, with a small but pleasant harbor view. The bathtub was a lovely bonus and perfect for relaxing after a long day out. I was also impressed by the soundproofing, as I barely heard any noise from neighboring rooms. My only concern was the lighting. The main light is warm and positioned along the bed wall, which makes the room feel cozy but not ideal for reading or working. It would be great if the hotel could add a brighter, daylight style main light for guests who prefer clearer illumination. PS: I love their shower/shampoo - brand from anatomicals, smell really sooothing and not too overpowering Think I had this when I visited seoul. Overall, a very enjoyable stay, and I would happily recommend it.

I stayed at this hotel four times in 2024 and thought it was pretty good back then. Even though the facilities were old (I think it was built in '06, can't quite remember), it offered great value for money and was conveniently located. I saw that it was renovated in 2024 (maybe after we stayed there?), so I decided to book it again. Their slippers are really thin, so we brought our own. I'm not sure if it's because it was a family room, meaning lots of kids, or if the soundproofing is just bad because different room types are on different floors, but the sound insulation was terrible. We constantly heard adults and children talking as they walked past in the hallway, even though our room was quite far from the elevator. When we entered the room, there was a strong musty smell, and there were obvious mold stains along the walls (I thought it was recently renovated? I can't tell where they renovated, it looks just as old as before). There were also a few sunflower seed shells and kernels left on the floor that hadn't been cleaned up. There was no bottled water either (which isn't a big deal, as we usually buy our own water anyway). The exhaust fan was incredibly loud, and there was a constant dripping sound from the pipes. We could clearly hear people showering and flushing toilets upstairs. It was so noisy past 11 PM that our kids couldn't sleep, and then around 6 AM, people started getting ready, waking us up again. No need for an alarm clock! I don't remember it being this noisy on my previous stays. However, the staff supervising the lobby were very proactive and friendly. When there was a long queue, they guided us to the self-service machines to check in.

Even though Hong Kong has made arrival easier, you still need to clear the Philippines' own travel rules before you leave NAIA. To avoid being delayed, make sure you have these two things settled:

1. eTravel Declaration This is still mandatory for all departing Filipinos. You must register at etravel.gov.ph within 72 hours (3 days) before your flight out of the Philippines. It is 100% free. Avoid any sites asking for payment!

2. Philippine Travel Tax The fee is PHP 1,620 for economy class.

  • Pay Online: Do not wait until you are at the airport. You can pay it online via the TIEZA website or the eTravel app.
  • Integrated Payment: Check your airline ticket first. Some airlines like Cebu Pacific and AirAsia allow you to include the tax when you book. If it says "PH Tax Paid" on your receipt, you are good to go.
