Hong Kong Arrival Card

Entering Hong Kong is now faster than ever for Filipino travelers. As of October 16, 2024, the Hong Kong Immigration Department officially scrapped the Arrival Card requirement, meaning there are no more paper or digital forms to fill out before you land. In 2026, all you need is your Philippine passport (valid for 6 months) and proof of your return ticket for a seamless, 14-day visa-free entry.

❤️Pro Tip: When planning your visit, consider booking flights from Manila to Hong Kong and Hong Kong hotels in advance to secure the best rates.

What Changed?

The Peak Tram

For decades, visitors had to fill out a small white slip or an online declaration. This is now fully abolished.

  • No Paper Slips: You won't be handed forms on the plane.
  • No Online Forms: There is no digital replacement or QR code to register for before your flight.
  • Direct Entry: You simply walk up to the immigration counter with your travel documents.

Valid Passport

Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date.

Return/Onward Ticket

Immigration officers frequently ask for proof of your flight back to the Philippines.

Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong|2.67km from city center
When I booked, I requested a high floor, a quiet room, and a good sea view. Upon check-in, the front desk lady recommended a sea view room on the 15th floor. Although it was a bit smaller than the sea view rooms on lower floors, it felt larger than I expected once I was in it, about 20-something square meters. I borrowed a power adapter from the hotel, and they were very prompt in refilling bottled water for free during my stay. Aside from the room decor looking a bit dated, everything else was fine. The location is also very convenient, right next to the Star Ferry Terminal, Avenue of Stars, and Harbour City.

The Royal Garden in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, is an internationally renowned five-star hotel. It boasts a prime location in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. The check-in experience and service are top-notch, and the hotel facilities are of high quality, generally meeting the high standards expected of a five-star hotel. I highly recommend it!

My stay at Cordis Hong Kong, Mongkok was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The service and quality far exceeded my expectations. The front desk team was professional and efficient; check-in and check-out were swift and seamless. They were polite and amiable, proactively assisting with room arrangements and answering all my questions, making communication smooth and pleasant throughout. The concierge service was thoughtful and attentive, actively helping with luggage, arranging taxis, and planning travel routes. Their practical and detailed advice on local attractions and transportation made me feel completely at ease. Housekeeping was prompt and efficient in responding to requests, and the room was spotlessly clean with a full range of amenities, making for an incredibly comfortable stay. The breakfast buffet offered a rich and diverse selection, catering to both Western and Chinese tastes, with freshly made noodles, fresh fruit, exquisite desserts, and specialty beverages all readily available. The food quality was consistent and delicious, and the dining environment was comfortable and enjoyable. The Executive Lounge staff provided warm and meticulous service, from greeting guests and taking orders to clearing tables. The afternoon tea and happy hour offerings were exquisite, and the atmosphere was quiet and elegant, making it perfect for both relaxation and work. The hotel is ideally located in the heart of Mongkok, offering convenient transportation while being surprisingly peaceful. Staff across all departments provided professional, attentive, and enthusiastically balanced service, with high-quality service evident in every detail. It's a top choice for accommodation in Hong Kong, and I will definitely stay again and recommend it to friends. The location is fantastic! You can get there directly from Futian Port by subway. Check-in, check-out, and luggage storage were all very accommodating. For a place like Hong Kong where space is at a premium, the hotel facilities are quite decent. It's super convenient for dining and getting around; you can walk to many attractions, and public transport (buses and MTR) is also easily accessible.

Wan Chai and Causeway Bay Hong Kong|4.81km from city center
The Regal Hotel was the biggest surprise of our Greater Bay Area trip, exceeding all expectations! While an older hotel, it's very well-maintained, spotlessly clean, and the bedding and mattress were incredibly comfortable and soft. The absolute best part is its superb location in Causeway Bay, offering excellent transport links. We arrived from Zhuhai via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, and the A11 bus takes you directly to the hotel. For our return to mainland China, there's a CTS (China Travel Service) bus ticket office right next to the hotel entrance. You can buy tickets a day in advance for easy access to Shenzhen Port, Shenzhen Airport, and various cities in Guangdong. During our stay in Hong Kong, we walked to Sogo, Hysan Place, and Times Square, and there were plenty of dining options nearby. To get to Wan Chai Pier for the Star Ferry, you can catch a 'ding ding' tram right outside the hotel, and the MTR station is also very close, making getting around incredibly convenient. Finally, a special thanks to the hotel for providing a birthday cake 🎂 and red wine for my friend, which made for a wonderful birthday celebration in Hong Kong.

Sha Tin Hong Kong|8.21km from city center
I stayed for ten days in Hong Kong for Chinese New Year, and overall the hotel was pretty good. The Chinese New Year decorations created a nice festive atmosphere. The room size was smaller than what you'd find in Beijing, but the bedding was comfortable and the bed was large enough. All the other amenities you'd expect were there. The Wi-Fi was fast enough and had excellent coverage. The transportation around the hotel is convenient. There's a shuttle bus service to and from Shek Mun MTR station, or you can take it to the Royal Park Hotel to transfer to the East Rail Line at Sha Tin New Town Plaza. Just be sure to check the timetable. The A41 bus goes directly to the hotel from Hong Kong Airport or the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge port. You can also take bus 680 to reach areas like Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, and Admiralty on Hong Kong Island in about half an hour. There aren't many restaurants nearby. For food, drinks, and other necessities, there's only a 7-Eleven downstairs, open from 7 AM to 11 PM. Otherwise, you'll need to go closer to Shek Mun station. My only complaint about the room was the two spotlights above the headboard. One was a reading light that could be turned off independently, but the other was a direct room light that couldn't be turned off unless you switched off the main power, which was a really poor design. It was quite glaring when trying to watch TV in bed, a definite flaw in the hardware. The housekeeping staff on my floor were excellent. Every time I saw them, they politely greeted guests and offered New Year wishes. The room cleaning was also very thorough, and they would add amenities according to the number of occupants. For environmental reasons, the hotel doesn't provide bottled water. Instead, they provide a glass carafe, and you fill it yourself from the water dispenser on the floor, which I thought was a good way to avoid excessive waste. I would consider staying here again on my next trip to Hong Kong.

Tsuen Wan Hong Kong|7.97km from city center
This hotel, recommended by a friend, was excellent. Although it's not directly in the tourist area, it's very convenient, just three subway stops from West Kowloon. I booked a city view room on a lower floor, but the front desk upgraded me to a high floor, offering a fantastic view. Overall, it exceeded my expectations. Pros: It was quiet at night, and there's the Citywalk shopping mall and a residential area nearby. I had breakfast at Ga Lok Ice Room, which was delicious. The room also had a water dispenser and was quite spacious. Cons: I told the front desk not to make up the bed, but the cleaning staff still did it – there was a complete lack of communication. Also, my power bank wouldn't charge in the room. The front desk insisted on sending a housekeeper up, who seemed annoyed about being woken up so early. She had a sour look on her face, couldn't solve the problem, and even grumbled, ”Why are you up so early?” which was very unprofessional.

I remember the first time I traveled to Hong Kong with my family about 10 years ago, and we stayed at this hotel on our first night. I never imagined that years later, bringing my son here, this would be his first overnight stay in Hong Kong, and we'd be at the same hotel again. The biggest advantage is its convenience; the hotel is right in Terminal 1, making it incredibly easy to catch a flight.

This hotel's biggest plus is its location. It's really close to Jordan Station and Tsim Sha Tsui, and you can even walk to West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station and Harbour City. It's super convenient for shopping and getting around, with tons of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. However, the room is quite small, and charging and boiling water aren't very convenient. The cleanliness is decent. It's fine for a solo traveler, but I imagine it would be too cramped for more people. Given the premium on space in Hong Kong, it offers good value for money.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic! It's right in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, incredibly close to the West Kowloon High-Speed Rail station and Victoria Harbour. There are tons of popular restaurants and must-visit spots nearby, including many authentic Korean and Japanese eateries where you can dine in or order takeout. Getting to all the tourist attractions is also super convenient. The hotel has a long history, so some of the facilities might be a bit dated, but the cleanliness and housekeeping are excellent. The bedding is very comfortable, and I really loved the room; it was a pleasant stay. I arrived quite early that day and had to wait for a long time, which initially made me a bit impatient. However, because there weren't enough standard rooms, the hotel upgraded me to a sea-view room, and I felt much better once I saw it. A big thank you to the lovely front desk staff for the arrangement! They often have packages for around 700+ that include two breakfasts and afternoon tea, making it a highly recommended choice for your trip.

Sai Wan and Sheung Wan Hong Kong|4.47km from city center
I loved the location of this hotel as it's not in the business district - much more of a local area, and awash with cheap, local eateries and coffee shops, but still just a few minutes walk to the seafront, and with lots of options to travel around the city. Sai Ying Pun MTR is a few minutes walk away, as are the local buses and trams. Coming from the airport, there is a direct bus, the A10, which drops you off less than 5 minutes from the hotel. The Airport Express Coach and MTR are also options but involve a change so if you have luggage they're not so convenient. The hotel itself is located on several floors, so other than during check-in and the service maids, I didn't encounter any staff. Lifts can get a bit busy, particularly during breakfast and check-out times. I didn't opt for breakfast preferring to eat right outside the hotel at one of the many local restaurants. Staying just before Chinese New Year, I got a great price for three nights, and an amazing harbour view. I'd stay again despite the bathroom/toilet being very cramped. When sitting down my knees touched the bath in front of me. Overall, a great location, good, cheap hotel, and a pleasant stay (although I really used it just to sleep as I was out through the day).

The hotel is located between two metro lines, a bit closer to Olympic Station, but still about a 10-minute walk. It's easy to find, situated at a crossroads, and there are plenty of dining options nearby, including some famous foodie spots. **Ambiance:** The space is quite small; the rooms, hallways, and elevators all feel cramped. While this is typical for Hong Kong, compared to other hotels of the same star rating, it doesn't offer much advantage in terms of size. **Cleanliness:** It's clean and tidy. Although the hotel is a bit old, it's well-maintained. **Service:** There was a slight information discrepancy regarding my booking at the front desk, but thankfully, Ctrip's customer service intervened immediately and resolved it, which was great. The breakfast, though not extensive in variety, tasted excellent. The hotel also provides a regular shuttle service to places like Mong Kok malls, which significantly enhances convenience. Overall, for this price, the Executive Room with breakfast included offers great value for money.

The room was tiny, but the location was fantastic, right in the city center. It was super convenient to get everywhere, practically next door to The Peninsula. You don't even need GPS; just remember the landmarks and you can easily navigate downtown to places like DONKI, Harbour City, Victoria Harbour, the Hong Kong Space Museum, the Science Museum, and more. First off, I think this hotel's location is more convenient than the Royal ***, which is similarly priced. It's super easy to get here from the airport via city bus, and the West Kowloon High-Speed Rail station is a quick walk away, even with luggage. Plus, the Jordan and Austin MTR stations are just a short stroll, and Tsim Sha Tsui is also within easy walking distance. The staff, from the front desk to the housekeepers, were all pleasant throughout my stay. While the hotel might be smaller than the Royal *** nearby, I'm really happy with it overall. I haven't been to Hong Kong too many times, but personally, I think it offers fantastic value for money, especially considering its location (I was on the 25th floor).

There was a slight hiccup with the room arrangement. Check-in was at 2 PM, and they initially gave me connecting rooms. I preferred two separate rooms, so I had to wait an extra hour. The tall, handsome staff member who checked me in this morning apologized and immediately coordinated a new arrangement, suggesting I go enjoy afternoon tea while I waited. The room has a view of the harbor. Another male staff member also provided excellent service. The location is fantastic, exactly as other reviews mentioned – very convenient for the Ding Ding tram, MTR, and airport bus.

Whether it was the front desk service, luggage storage, or butler service, everything was outstanding. I especially want to mention that since we had a lot of electronic devices for our family trip and needed to charge them, I asked the butler for a power strip. Not only did the butler bring it quickly, but because our device plugs didn't match, they also provided four different universal adapters, one after another, without a single complaint. We were genuinely touched by their service. The room was also exceptionally clean and tidy.

The location is quite convenient, close to the Causeway Bay MTR Station (Times Square Exit) and the 'Ding Ding' tram stop. The prices fluctuate quite a bit, and after speaking with Trip.com customer service, I did receive some compensation. However, to be honest, the cleanliness was really not ideal. There was still trash left under the bed from previous guests that hadn't been cleaned up. The hotel might be a bit old, as there was a noticeable odor inside. My room was also right next to an elevated highway, so the noise at night was quite loud.

The location and transport links are a major highlight. The hotel is situated on Tin Yan Road in Tin Shui Wai, just a 3-minute walk from the Light Rail Ginza Station, and a little over 100 meters from a bus stop. Right downstairs, there's a cross-border bus point, making it super convenient for trips to Shenzhen Bay Port and Hong Kong International Airport. While it's a bit of a distance from central areas like Tsim Sha Tsui and Central, there are direct buses and Light Rail connections. You can get to Disneyland in about 30 minutes, which is perfectly fine for those who aren't fixated on city center sightseeing. The surrounding amenities are also top-notch. Right below the hotel is the Kingswood Ginza shopping mall, offering a large supermarket and a wide variety of dining options, including tea restaurants, affordable fast food, and local snacks – making it incredibly easy to sort out all your meals. You can also take a leisurely walk to a nearby park, providing a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle without being overcrowded.

Service: I saw some reviews saying that they ignored mainland tourists, but that wasn't the case here at all. They just might not be used to smiling. All aspects of the service were perfectly fine; they answered every question and helped with every request. Environment: The second night, I moved to a different room, which was even nicer. The decor was very new, and even though it was next to the elevator, there was no noise – it was very quiet. My experience after three stays tells me I should book a family room in the future; everything about it is top-notch. Compared to other hotels, I feel this place offers better value for money and more attentive service than some places domestically. The two-bed rooms are slightly less impressive; they can be a bit noisy and have poorer soundproofing, probably because more people stay in them. Cleanliness: No doubts here, it's impeccable. Facilities: The facilities during this stay were new, probably recently renovated.

Don't Forget: The PH Exit Requirements

Tian Tan Buddha

Even though Hong Kong has made arrival easier, you still need to clear the Philippines' own travel rules before you leave NAIA. To avoid being delayed, make sure you have these two things settled:

1. eTravel Declaration This is still mandatory for all departing Filipinos. You must register at etravel.gov.ph within 72 hours (3 days) before your flight out of the Philippines. It is 100% free. Avoid any sites asking for payment!

2. Philippine Travel Tax The fee is PHP 1,620 for economy class.

  • Pay Online: Do not wait until you are at the airport. You can pay it online via the TIEZA website or the eTravel app.
  • Integrated Payment: Check your airline ticket first. Some airlines like Cebu Pacific and AirAsia allow you to include the tax when you book. If it says "PH Tax Paid" on your receipt, you are good to go.

FAQ: Hong Kong Arrival Card

  • Do I still need to fill out the Arrival Card online?

No. As of October 2024, the Hong Kong Immigration Department has fully abolished the Arrival Card. You do not need to fill out any paper or digital forms before you arrive.
  • Is Hong Kong visa-free for Filipinos in 2026?

Yes. Filipino passport holders can enter Hong Kong visa-free for up to 14 days for tourism or business visits. If you plan to stay longer, you must apply for a visitor visa in advance.
  • What is the "Landing Slip" I received at the counter?

Since Hong Kong no longer stamps passports, they provide a small slip of thermal paper called a Landing Slip. It contains your name, passport number, and the date your stay expires. Keep this safe in your passport until you leave.
  • Can I enter Hong Kong if my passport expires in 5 months?

No. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you land in Hong Kong. Airlines may bar you from boarding if your passport is near its expiry date.
  • Do I need to show a return ticket at the immigration counter?

While not every traveler is asked, it is a standard requirement. You should have a copy of your return or onward flight ticket ready on your phone or printed out just in case the officer asks to see it.
  • Is the eTravel form still required for leaving the Philippines?

Yes. Even though Hong Kong has removed their arrival forms, the Philippine government still requires all departing travelers to register via the eTravel portal within 72 hours of their flight.
