Stayed here for 2 nights for a business trip and overall it was quite okay. The location is alright, but just take note it is quite a bit of a walk if you want to go Tunjungan Plaza. Breakfast has a good selection of food, but it gets quite crowded unless you go down early to eat. I had some issues with the TV because it keeps freezing after a while, which was a bit annoying. Also, room service missed out some things because they didn't provide a floor mat and hand towel after they cleaned the room. But for a short business trip, everything else was fine and still acceptable.
On a business trip to Surabaya, I was lucky to find a relatively new hotel at a reasonable price. The room was decent, not too small for two people. However, I was really dissatisfied with the service. In the evening, I realized our room only had two bath towels and no hand towels, so I called the front desk to ask for some. The staff member who came asked for dirty towels in exchange. I explained I didn't have any dirty towels to give, I just wanted extra hand towels. The staff member said it wasn't allowed, claiming hotel policy states a room can only have two bath towels, and any additional ones would be charged. What??? I've stayed in so many hotels, and this is the first time I've heard of such an absurd rule. In the end, we had to make do with just the two bath towels. The front desk later called me to say they only had bath towels and no hand towels either... Additionally, the hotel provides two bottles of drinking water, and any more cost money. The room itself was acceptable, but the service is far from what you'd expect from a 4-star hotel. I hope they can improve.

The best hotel we stayed in Surabaya, conveniently located beside Tunjungan plaza with many restaurants and stores. Walking distance around 5 mins have many chic and hipster cafes worth visiting. Hotel room was clean and very spacious. All the staff was very friendly and accomodating. The best part was the buffet breakfast, with many arrays of foods and live stations. With all the delicous food and warm staff at the restaurant, we really enjoyed the whole breakfast. Highly recommemded!
The hotel is at a place quite convenient and quiet. We got to see the fireworks of the entire cbd. The room is quite spacious and clean. There are malls and cafes nearby.

One of the best hotel in Surabaya, standing on the biggest mall in Indonesia, we can feel a good holiday with another experiences.
The breakfast was so amazing, have a good taste and serve with a lot of kindness.
We will back again.
Overall had a great stay as a couple here for 2N. Location is pretty good with a lot of local attractions nearby like Museum Angkut and Jatim Park. The hotel also has a rooftop bar and lounge with a great view of surrounding mountains and pretty lights at night. One thing can be improved is the amenities provided, we don't even know which one is shampoo or soap, there's no label and both liquid were super watery with bright colors..
I don’t quite understand the hype surrounding this hotel. Apart from its scenic view and peaceful ambiance, there’s not much else to say about it. The breakfast was ordinary, and you’ll have to pay extra for a cappuccino, while black coffee is the only one that’s free. The TV is also quite small. I’m not planning to return here.
The hotel is centrally located. While accessing the main road involves a slight detour, overall it's fine, and it's not too far from the main road itself. The rooms are compact, but it's a viable option for a transit hotel. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The TVs come with Netflix, so it's a good option when you don't feel like going out during the day, especially given Surabaya's scorching heat.
Service: The hotel is quite large overall. As soon as we got off at the lobby, a staff member came to help with our luggage. We were offered welcome drinks and hot towels to wipe our hands during check-in. Afterward, a staff member escorted us to our room.
Facilities: Everything was great, including a hairdryer, mini-fridge, wardrobe, slippers, toiletries, and more.
Hygiene: It was clean and hygienic, with no strange odors. Housekeeping cleaned the room daily.
Environment: The hotel has many coconut trees, and the hotel restaurant faces Bali, separated by the sea. There's also a small bar by the pool where you can order a drink and relax by the pool while looking at Bali; it's quite pleasant.
So far ok. Stay there for 3 days was not happy with the aminities in room. I was complain about hair dryer. Once we used is broken then technician came then fixed. After that used still on off. Second day call receptionis sending same complain about hair dryer was broken but only fixed, he said fan in problem after used in 30 sec then nit working again. They we find that kettle opener is broken n still keep using, nit changing with new one after that dripping water from inside kettle.

Very Good
Delicious Indonesian Javanese food specially created by the host, May, as well as the level of dedicated service is the highlight of this hotel. The menu food sounds unappealing, but all 7 lunch and dinners were so good. You have to try the chicken satay, which is soft and has white clean meat. The tuna is melted and panini is so fresh. The spaghetti cakalang is her created recipe of smoked fish and spaghetti. Her tofu and Tempe must not be missed! Her tempong chicken is yummy and fresh! Feels like it's directly from the farm. Nasi goreng must not be missed! Papayas seem to be in the season. Fried bananas covered in coconut flakes are not to be missed! In this hotel, don't expect luxury cleanliness because there are a lot of insects (bees, butterflies, moths, grasshopper, flies), spiders, millipedes, lizards, even a gecko. If you want to stay in this rustic resort you have to be okay with them. I didn't like the insects stuff in the room but the hosts immediately sent their staff to deal with them. Staff are friendly just be patient with them because not all speak English. May was a super host, who gave ALL sorts of ideas on where to go, and how to go, and gives you contacts and numbers and details. Ibnu makes the best dirty latte in Banyuwangi, most probably. The hosts are very nice and go out of the way to make their guests welcome. They even dropped us at a nearby tour site, and also gave us a short walk to the beach nearby. This level of service is almost unbeatable. Staff are always ready and welcome to greet and smile at you. I think the Indonesian and Javanese meals are better than the breakfast menu. Breakfast pancake and American breakfast normal only. They generously dropped us off at Bangsring Underwater which was 3-5 mins away, which MUST NOT BE MISSED for snorkelling beginners! (But first check out if the season is good for snorkelling) If you stay here, be prepared there's not much in the area. And not much air-conditioned cafes or restaurant or shops nearby too. The family room has a breathtaking view of the mountains but because of the attic like structure, is prone to insects and lizards and stuff. It had a resident gecko. The deluxe suite room had a flat ceiling so lesser insects! + huge verandah for drying your clothes + pink bougainvillea. There are corn fields beside the hotel. They send food to your room if you don't want to eat in the restaurant which also has a amazing view. Restaurant has rustic vibes with antique candelabras (+ spiders).
It’s a very nice hotel spacious enough , I get an up grade from Mountain View room into bathtub room. Breakfast is complete and variously… And there is a restaurant just across the hotel
I love the staffs, friendly and helpfull . They even prepared our early breakfast because we had to leave at 00.30 for Bromo tour , very nice service, perfect location
I fell in love instantly when I stumbled upon this hotel on hotel booking site and decided to book a stay. The resort is cool as it is surrounded by lot's of plants and trees. The wooden villas are cute and looked unreal, but quite spacious for 2 persons. Efficient buggy and room service via Whatsapp. Food served in the hotel restaurant was tasty, my stomach healed after trying an Indonesian drink contain cinnamon and ginger (I forgot the name, pls check my picture!) when I had stomach issue. Listening to the birds singing while watching cute cats playing hide & seek, Shanaya is a perfect choice if you want a peaceful stay and immerse yourself in the nature.
