__WeChat229852****Staying at the Bellagio Shanghai on the Bund, right in the heart of the city, far exceeded my expectations. It's definitely one of the most satisfying hotel experiences I've had recently.
**Environment and Room:** The hotel is located by the Suzhou Creek, right next to the Waibaidu Bridge, making it incredibly convenient to get to both the Bund and Nanjing Road. The room itself was incredibly spacious, with a modern and luxurious design, impeccably maintained and spotlessly clean. Most importantly, the soundproofing was excellent, allowing for a perfectly quiet night's sleep even in the bustling city center.
**Dining Experience:** Breakfast was semi-buffet style, offering both a rich variety of choices and exquisite presentation. The buffet items were fresh, and the à la carte dishes were truly a highlight. Whether it was the Chinese dim sum or the Western omelets, everything was prepared with great care, and the taste was impressive.
**Service Quality:** From check-in to check-out, the service was consistently excellent. Ellie and Moon were professional yet friendly, always responsive to our needs, making us feel comfortable and at ease.
Overall, this is a hotel that perfectly combines location, facilities, dining, and service. It's highly recommended for guests who value quality in their travels.

开开水ksbooked a room at the Banyan tree for my parents who were visiting to celebrate their wedding anniversary and upon check in we were greeted by the most lovely staff who quickly helped my parents check in and upgraded us for free to a nicer room. It also had prepared Rose petals within the room and some desserts to celebrate their wedding anniversary which was very appreciated. The room was unbelievable and the view alone made the whole experience worth it. My parents absolutely loved their stay and couldn’t stop raving about the service of all the workers as well. we had some items that my family were unsure if we could bring onto flight, and the hotel staff even went out of their way to call the airline to confirm for us. hotel amenities also great, huge gym and pool with multiple spas, and gym having a reformer pilates machine too. we’ve been to many hotels within shanghai now and this is by far the best , with strong service, a modern room and incredible view. all the photos of the view in the review were taken from within the room, better than going out to the bund!

KKate ThomGem of a boutique hotel with polite counter and wait staff located just steps from Nanjing Road East which is the main shopping district - a straight road down to The Bund, the famous waterfront district with beautiful buildings both colonial and modern lit up at night along the river.
Hotel serves a good variety of Chinese breakfast items like noodle soup, dumpling soup, fried rice or noodles, fried potstickers (gyoza in Japanese / guotie in Mandarin), steamed dim sum, char siew pau or cha sao bao (sweet BBQ diced roast pork steamed buns), soya milk, 4 cooked dishes, two types of rice porridge with condiments and adequate western offerings like eggs to order, bacon, sausages, baked beans, pastries and toast, breakfast spreads, salad, cheeses, yoghurt, hash brown and choc mousse and cakes. Good variety of of fruits, juices, teas and good coffee served too.
The free mini bar w Perrier, Oolong tea, 2 cans soft drinks and local beer was appreciated. It was topped up each time the housekeeper came to freshen up the room although the booking said ”one time free mini bar”. The cleanliness in the room was top - not a stray hair nor any debris left behind by a previous guest, no dust on any surface (and the room is big with good sized furniture at 44m2) and the bathroom was sparkling clean. The towels and.sheets were pristine.
Bathroom amenities were basic (toothbrush and comb) but the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were by Karl Lagerfeld. Small packet of detergent was provided too.
Lovely stay with comfortable bed and smooth bedlinens. The only gripe was that the duvet was down filled which was too heavy for the 30 to 34 deg weather and was too warm despite the air conditioning. As for the soft furnishings, the light coloured carpet is quite spotted and stained in some areas but wearing the slippers provided gave some protection to the feet. The slippers were luxe with thick foam soles and woven material and I didnt need a change of slippers for all 6 days of my stay.
I will return!

Situated in Fengxian, it’s a bit outside central Shanghai, but perfect if you have business in the area. It’s relatively easy to access via Didi or taxi. The nearby surroundings are quiet and safe, with a few local restaurants and convenience stores in walking distance.

A solid choice for both business and leisure travelers seeking comfort and consistency in Fengxian. I would definitely consider staying here again and recommend it to others looking for a dependable Marriott experience outside the city center.

However, the service quality did not match the standard expected from such a well-appointed hotel. Upon arrival, the front desk staff mistakenly assigned me a children’s room, which required me to return to reception and resolve the issue—a rather inconvenient start to my stay.
While the room I was eventually given was comfortable and spacious, cleanliness left much to be desired. The bathtub, in particular, had two dead flies and a hardened stain on its surface, which was quite disappointing.

During the two years of the pandemic, I also took my child to many iconic local hotels to experience them. After considering factors such as comfort, location, cost-effectiveness, dining, service, opening hours, and overall quality, I would highly recommend this hotel to friends planning a trip to Shanghai. The staff are very attentive and responsive to any needs. The location is excellent, situated in North Bund, Hongkou District, which is not too noisy and offers easy access to various amenities. For those visiting Shanghai, there is a stand-up comedy show nearby that is definitely worth checking out. The dining options are plentiful, and you can easily reach Siji Minfu within walking distance. The North Bund City Terrace and the Waibaidu Bridge are also within walking distance. Last night, I took a stroll around the area and stood at the North Bund City Terrace. Seeing Shanghai and Pudong's Oriental Pearl Tower from this vantage point was truly breathtaking.
