Grand Lisboa Palace Macau ★★★★★

📍 Rua do Tiro, Cotai, Macau

"The location is terrible, costing a lot of time and money for transportation. There's a reason why the hotel price is so cheap. Just book a hotel in the Cotai Strip instead. The swimming pool is shockingly small and pathetic."

Londoner Grand, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Macao ★★★★★

📍 The Londoner Macao, Estrada do Istmo, s/n, Cotai, Cotai, Macau

"This hotel is clean and tidy with impeccable service. I'm also grateful to the thoughtful booking platform, which sent a beautifully prepared small cake on the day of check-in. The room is lovely, overlooking the beautiful pool, and comes with its own gym. Contrary to some reviews, there was no stiff, uncooperative, or arrogant service; every staff member was warm, polite, and upheld the hotel's brand with dignity. The hotel is quite large, and whenever you looked a bit lost, a staff member would always come to guide you. When storing luggage, they even proactively helped me check out the room card. The shuttle bus was very convenient. We had two unforgettable anniversary days. The room facilities were complete and well-equipped, and housekeeping was orderly. The front desk even proactively offered some summer experience activities and services."

"I had a whirlwind trip to Macau, and I'm so glad I booked the Grand Hyatt. I was even more fortunate to have met Ms. Shangguan, who provided patient and detailed service. She communicated with me about my itinerary in advance and offered timely assistance. My room was upgraded to a suite, and I could even see the Wynn fountain from inside – no need to jostle with crowds! The breakfast was also excellent; the restaurant staff actively offered help when they saw me with my child. The hotel's location is convenient for accessing various border crossings, the airport, and more, with a bus stop right outside the main entrance. "This was my first time staying at the Grand Lapa Macau. The hotel is very large with many rooms, but the room was smaller than I expected. The overall facilities were decent, but the absolute highlight was the three jacuzzi pools next to the main swimming pool. Because of that, I'd consider staying here again."

YOHO Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel ★★★★★
"Check-in was efficient, and the front desk lady was very polite. The room was spacious and clean. However, the air conditioning was really weak; even when set to the lowest temperature, it would automatically adjust itself back to 25 degrees. It seems to be fixed at that setting, which made me quite uncomfortable for a long time 🥵. The location is convenient; it's about a five to six-minute walk to the Macau Jockey Club Light Rail Station just around the corner from the hotel."

Hotel Golden Dragon ★★★★
"We’re very happy with our stay here. We chose here specifically because it’s location and reviews. The transportation from Gongbei Port is very convenient, and there are many other bus stations within walking distance from the hotel. The receptionist are very friendly and knowledgeable, which made us very happy. The hotel is covered with gold colored furnitures, but not cheap at all. The television here is awesome too, both the video quality and the variety of channels. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and we can’t wait to stay here once again! Thank you Mu Goi"

"The breakfast at the hotel's Italian restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes and tastes great. The hotel rooms are comfortable and spacious with an open view, and they also provide amenities like a baby cot, bathtub, and bottle sterilizer. Plus, the hotel's shopping mall has Qube, an indoor playground perfect for kids to burn off energy. I highly recommend it for families looking for a vacation stay! The hotel staff provides excellent service with polite and sincere attitudes. Soda, the front desk colleague who checked me in, was patient and detailed in her explanations. She even helped me note down the best routes and opening hours for major attractions nearby, which was incredibly thoughtful!"

Where to Stay in Macau

Macau has a rhythm that feels lively yet relaxed, with a mix of old streets and modern buildings side by side. In the morning, you’ll see people walking along Senado Square with coffee in hand, shops opening slowly, and the smell of freshly baked pastries from small bakeries. Around the historic lanes, locals set up stalls selling snacks, souvenirs, and simple breakfast dishes while buses and taxis move steadily through the narrow roads. Near the waterfront, hotels welcome travelers who come for the views, food, and easy access to the city’s attractions. By late afternoon, the light turns warm, families stroll through Taipa Village, and friends stop for milk tea or Portuguese egg tarts. When night comes, the city glows with soft lights, the air turns cooler, and you can hear music and gentle chatter from restaurants serving noodle soups, seafood, and Macanese dishes. Staying in Macau feels easy, colorful, and full of small moments that make the trip memorable.

Tips for Booking Macau Hotels

Book Early for Busy Seasons

Macau gets crowded during Golden Week, Christmas, New Year, and major festival periods. Hotels in Cotai and the Macau Peninsula often fill up fast, and prices go up. If you plan to visit during these times, it’s better to book your room early so you have more choices and better rates.

Watch Out for Big Events

When Macau hosts concerts, boxing matches, or large conventions, hotel demand increases. Rates in popular areas like Cotai Strip can rise quickly. Booking ahead helps you avoid last-minute high prices and ensures you stay close to the places you want to visit.

Save with Booking Perks

Sites like Trip.com often have hotel discounts and special deals. First-time users may get extra savings, which means you can use the money for local food, shows, or shopping around Senado Square and Taipa Village.

Stay Smart with Location Choices

If you want to save more, you don’t always need to stay inside a big Cotai resort. These areas offer good value and easy access to attractions:

  • Taipa Village – Affordable hotels close to food streets, cafes, and local shops.
  • Macau Peninsula – Budget-friendly stays within walking distance of heritage sites like Senado Square and the Ruins of St. Paul.
  • Coloane – Quiet options near beaches and nature, great if you prefer a peaceful stay.
