"The hotel is a quiet retreat despite being within walking distance of the bustling city center, although there are many steep hills along the way! It rained continuously for the first two days of our stay, so it was a lifesaver that there was a shuttle to the nearest mall. Due to the heavy rain, the area outside our room was severely leaking, causing a lot of water to accumulate by the door. We eventually moved to another room, which had the same layout but was smaller than the previous one."

"The hotel is advertised as an upscale 5-star establishment, but it doesn't live up to this claim. While the staff was friendly, they generally seemed insufficiently qualified and untrained, which was noticeable in the service on several occasions. There was an ant colony in the room, which is absolutely unacceptable in this hotel category. The fruit provided in the room (mango) was sour and clearly not fresh. Breakfast and the hotel's restaurant were also below average and didn't offer the quality one would expect from a 5-star hotel. In addition, the service left much to be desired – empty dishes were sometimes left uncleared. The location is very quiet, the beach is beautiful, but there's nothing in the immediate vicinity – no restaurants or entertainment options whatsoever. The only somewhat upscale restaurant is located in the nearby beach club. On the plus side, the hotel is close to the airport (about a 30-minute drive). We only stayed two nights and, in retrospect, were glad we hadn't booked a longer stay. Conclusion: For the price asked, there is clearly too little performance and it's not a true 5-star experience."
