Destiny Student - Holyrood (Brae House)
"The room was clean and the facilities were fairly complete, though a bit small. It would be perfectly fine as student accommodation. However, as a commercial rental, the price is quite steep; at around 1200 including tax, the value for money isn't great. Because it's dormitory-style with area doors (each area having five or six rooms) and shared kitchen doors, the sound insulation is poor, so it can get quite noisy. There's often a chorus of loud doors opening and closing, as well as hairdryer noise. The train tracks are right across the street, but it wasn't noisy at night, perhaps due to infrequent service."
New Town Hotel
"Amazing"
Destiny Student – Murano (Campus Accommodation)
"Great facilities and an affordable stay in a private student hall during the summer. However the left luggage service is not free like in hotels. This place feels like a hotel more than a hostel as I rarely met my other flatmates during my stay."
Destiny Student – Shrubhill (Campus Accommodation)
"Good location"
Destiny - Burnet Point
"Staff were all very helpful and pleasant. Room is immaculately clean. Make sure that you bring your towels though since it’s not provided."
Kick Ass Grassmarket (18+)
"I stayed in a 6-bed dorm. The room window could only be opened a tiny crack, leading to very poor ventilation. As soon as you walked in, there was a strong, unpleasant odor. Everyone should avoid Room 206."
The Scholar
"Love the breakfast! The staff are really friendly and the hotel has a very cute quaint vibe even though it’s very modern and reasonably plush."
Code Pod – the Court - Edinburgh
"It was relatively clean. Other guests' belongings in the room were a bit messy, but there were lockable lockers. The front desk staff were also very welcoming, and there's free WiFi. It seems like you can also participate in activities at the hostel. The bathrooms and everything were quite clean. Someone snored at night, so my sleep was just okay."
Britannia Edinburgh Hotel
Quiet riverside location; a 15-minute walk to Princes Street; 10 minutes to Haymarket Station.

The Glasshouse, Autograph Collection
"I had made a reservation about three months ago, but when I arrived at the hotel, I was turned away with the explanation that "there were no rooms available, so we've booked you at a different hotel." They insisted that they had emailed me but I hadn't received a reply, but I think they were just trying to cover up a double booking. On top of that, they booked me at a lower-class hotel and refused to refund the difference. This hotel is the worst!!! I will never go there again."
