I stayed at the Adelphi Hotel on a recent trip to Edinburgh. It's definitely a budget-friendly option, which was perfect for me. The room itself was clean and functional. The bed was comfy, there was a flat-screen TV to unwind with, and the shower had great pressure with plenty of hot water. Heads up, there's no breakfast offered at the hotel. I grabbed food at a nearby cafe each morning, which wasn't a problem, but be sure to factor that extra cost into your budget. The room was a little on the small side, and I heard some noise from outside at times. It's not a fancy hotel, and there aren't any amenities beyond free Wi-Fi. The location, however, was fantastic. It's just a short walk from the tram stop, and most of Edinburgh's attractions were within a 10-15 minute drive. There's even free parking on-site, which is a major plus in the city. Overall, the Adelphi Hotel was a decent choice for my short stay. It's perfect if you're on a budget and don't mind a basic room without frills. Just be prepared to find breakfast elsewhere and manage your expectations.

I was a little concerned that the bathroom was a little dirty, but the bedding and other amenities were very clean. Scrambled eggs or quiche? etc.). I live in a single room on the third floor. The room is relatively small and cannot accommodate an extra bed. The room is just big enough for one person, with a small bathroom attached. The landlord has strict requirements on the check-in time. If you arrive late, it is best to inform the landlord of the exact time of your arrival in advance, and the landlord will tell you the password to get the key, otherwise there is a risk of not getting the key. The hotel is located in the south of Edinburgh, far away from the city center, about 20 minutes to half an hour walk, but there are buses. It is better if you live alone.

It's a hotel that promotes self-check-in, but the only way to contact the hotel is to give them a phone number and tell them to contact the hotel on their own. They don't have a local phone number so I can't contact them and they don't tell me how to check in. A guest staying at the hotel said he had experienced the same situation the day before and wouldn't have been able to check in if I hadn't helped him. And even if I call the number I gave, they don't answer.

The room was clean and cozy. However, there were few breakfast options, so if you have high requirements in this regard, you should consider it.
