Great
MMason KaiThis is a wonderful serviced apartment in Edinburgh. The living room features a fold-out sofa bed, allowing it to comfortably sleep four people. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there's a supermarket conveniently located nearby, making it easy to buy groceries and prepare delicious meals. The area is very quiet, and Edinburgh Castle is just a 20-minute walk away.
AAnna E AdamsFantastic location being so close to the Castle, old and new town. Rooms are beautifully designed, clean and cosy. It’s so handy having a kitchen in the room to self cater when needed. We’ve loved visiting Edinburgh and will definitely book to stay here again.

MManuel Neuer 01Overall, it was very good. The location is right in the city center, so you can walk directly to the castle and the Elephant House café.

GGuest UserMy recent hotel stay was a bit of a mixed experience. While the hotel was clean and well-equipped, there were several issues that detracted from my overall satisfaction.
Before arriving, I had communicated with the hotel via email and was told that they could be reached via WhatsApp. However, upon arrival, I was unable to get a response from the hotel on WhatsApp. Additionally, there was no reception area, and check-in had to be done over the phone, which required multiple long-distance phone calls and extra fees.
The day before check-in, I received a last-minute email from the hotel requesting a deposit, but they did not provide any information on how to make the payment. Not all of the staff were willing to provide assistance, but the last person I spoke to was patient and helpful, which allowed me to check in smoothly.
One major safety concern was that there was a step outside the bathroom, but the floor was not marked, making it easy to trip and fall. Another hazard was the transparent coffee table in the living room, which caused several stumbling incidents that could have led to injuries.
Overall, while the hotel was clean and well-maintained, the issues with communication, extra fees, and safety hazards detracted from my experience.
ZZakaria RamadhanThe place is just perfect especially for University of Edinburgh freshers. Complete amenities and basic living facilities (free laundry, workout room, microwaves, iron & board, fridge, and cutleries), very easy to walk everywhere within campus and city center, and excellent services from the staff. There is also a Sainsbury's Express and an Asian supermarket next to the hotel. It was really a pleasure to stay at the Residence Inn Edinburgh. Thank you! 😊
HHunnyBhee1. Location, Location, Location
• It’s hard to beat this hotel for central Edinburgh. Right on North Bridge, you’re a stone’s throw from Waverley Station, the Royal Mile, shops, restaurants, and many of the city’s major sights.
• Great for walking everywhere; you don’t need transport for many of the main attractions.
2. Room Size & Basics
• Many guests say the rooms are more spacious than you might expect in a city‑centre hotel.
• Clean, with decent bathrooms, functional furniture, and most have good views (though that depends on the side you’re on).
3. Quality of Bed & Sleep Amenities
• Beds often get praise for being comfortable (though not universally). TVs, desks, kettles etc. are standard and work well.
4. Restaurant / Lounge / Public Areas
• Decent lounge with a good drinks menu, good public areas, attractive décor in common spaces.
• The steakhouse (Marco Pierre White) is a draw for many visitors.

AaksuwalThe breakfast was incredibly rich, with a wide variety of drinks, bread, sausages, bacon, cereals, and fruits – definitely filling. The location is a tiny bit out of the way, but we took the local train to the city center every day. It's a convenient 12-minute ride from Haymarket Station to Waverley Station. The room was spacious, though the facilities were a little dated. Overall, it was a good stay.
GGuest UserStayed at this hotel for 2 nights and it was everything we needed really. Apart from the slight distance (20-30ish min bus ride)from the city centre, it was clean, well-equipped and also super spacious. Super value for money!
FFatima IssaA Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommended!
My friend and I recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely property, and we had an excellent experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed with the attention to detail and the warmth of the staff. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring we both got a restful night’s sleep.
What truly stood out, however, was the level of service. I was feeling a bit under the weather during our stay, and the staff went above and beyond by bringing breakfast directly to our room, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture. This level of care really goes a long way in making guests feel valued.
For those who prefer to enjoy their breakfast with a bit of fresh air, the hotel also has a charming terrace where you can take your meal while soaking in the surroundings. It's the perfect way to start the day if you want to enjoy a bit of sunshine.
The location is also a major plus. It’s just a short walk to the city center, making it easy to explore, and for those who prefer not to walk, a quick 5-minute bus ride will take you wherever you need to go.
The lounge area at the hotel is another highlight. It’s spacious, cozy, and thoughtfully equipped with blankets to keep guests comfortable if the temperature drops. It provided the perfect spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area. The combination of comfort, thoughtful service, and a prime location makes it a top choice. We will definitely be staying here again when we return!

GGuest UserThe hotel was lovely, the bed was comfortable, the reception staff was welcoming and amazing!
I was thoroughly disappointed at the breakfast selection - the eggs were overcooked and floating in water, it was quite gross. The gentleman taking care of the tables was quite rude. We asked the reception whether we can look at the breakfast before we make a decision to add on, she said sure, we went there and this gentleman working the floor was quite rude saying for how many? I told him I am still deciding as my partner wanted to come in and have breakfast too. It was me and my mom staying in the room, but he was so pushy and rude, he asked for my room number, I gave it to him, he came back saying it's not paid and I said to him I know I am just deciding if I want to add it on -- we were standing away from the food and didn't have plates or anything, we were just texting my partner to get a decision from him. He was so rude and said ”see I told you, this is why I asked, come with me” and he had a very rude attitude. We paid for it at the bar and then went to sit down, but this gentleman was the only rude man in the hotel - quite frankly would not eat at that place again!
He messed the whole experience for us.
