Excellent staff, clean room and convenient location make Edinburgh’s Marriott Hotel Holyrood one like no other. The receptionist made a provision for me to check in early at 9:30 am and for me that was a major relief as I traveled by train from London and really needed to rest. Thank you to the impeccable room service as well that made it a relaxing time for me.

Google Maps brought us to wrong place. Be careful! Hotel is good location. Much bigger than what it looks from outside.
Parking is limited and requires extra payment. We could not parked onsite and was directed to park at another nearby APEX hotel.

Hostel location is nice near university of edinburgh.
Breakfast menu is nice although its the same everyday even the options of fruits and crossiant fillings.
Its freshly made everyday . Service is nice at ground level is really nice
Pro: location, hotel staff , laundry and dry cleaning service on first come self serve basis.
Rooms have AC , Table fans, iron kit , mircrowave and fridge.
Con: Room service needs improvement. They have given it to 3rd party so have fixed timing and clean rooms faster and can be some times undone partially!
I would recommend to stay here for 3-4 days or untill you are not bored of eating same breakfast :)
Reception is available 24/7 which is nice.
Nearest bus stop at forrest road.

I booked a hotel to see Edinburgh Castle, but the room was on the E floor, which was very short. The streetlight pole happened to be in front of the window. Although I could face the castle, the view was very poor. The facilities are old and the faucets are splashing everywhere. Moreover, there are very few sockets, the heating is useless, and the wind blows coldly. The winter in Edinburgh is unbearable.

Pros: The location of the hotel is good. This is a big hotel with many rooms. The terrace is super nice.
shortcoming:
1- But my room is separated from the noise of huge equipment, I don't know what it is, it is much more noisy than the refrigerator.
2- The corridors and restaurants don't turn on the heating very much, it's very cold.
3- The bed is relatively soft
4- But there is no parking space for taxis in front
Overall: 4 points
The price-performance ratio of more than 2,000 is not very high, but the level of the entire British hotel is incomparable with that of Asia, and this hotel cannot be blamed.

Lovely groups and views.
Comfortable bed and reasonable sized room, but the shower curtain was smelly, and we had to ask for it to be changed. It took several phone calls and nearly an hour before someone came and changed it.
Breakfast was quite good, but no eggs benedict offered, which was disappointing.
Unfortunately, the pool was packed with children and families who didn't appear to be stating at the hotel, and the timings for adults only swimming were before breakfast and after dinner. I did not consider this a proper 5-star hotel facility since it seemed less private and more public baths. Having seen how busy the golf was, I felt maybe this isn't a private membership golf and spa hotel anymore.
All in all, I did have a comfortable stay but found the hotel not private enough to make it a special experience, which is what I expected for the price and given its previous reputation in the community and in reviews.

Awful hotel that is definitely not 4* and the service is not at Hilton level at all….
The hotel goes under the renovation and there were only 2 lifts with queues and they are also used by the staff too
We had a room for 3 people and had all set up for two people only, the room was dirty with hair in the shower and the ceiling.
When I took the shower the pipe was blocked and the water started to leak to the bathroom… yes they sorted the problem quite quickly but still was not great experience
There were no slippers and bathrobes. I asked for x3 slippers and they brought only one pair. I asked again and they brought only one pair again. On the third time they brought two pairs…. When I asked for 3!!! And still no bathrobes. We asked for additional blanket and it was in a random location after the room was cleaned.
The room was cleaned badly on the next day we stayed. My pajamas was thrown elsewhere and I found it on the table, the towels we put on the floor to be replaced were fold dirty on the shelves… the blanket was in a random location and the cleaner did not pay any attention at all left the room dirty. Very disrespectful
I felt that I had to beg for the things we are supposed to get in this kind of hotels. Shocking!!!
Yes they compensated with a complimentary breakfast which was good but still the service was bad. They sent the cleaner and by the time she came we were already sleeping. And she did not speak any English … very disappointed

SSisley22The hotel pillows had mold spots when turned over...
The check-in time was 3 o'clock but they said it was not cleaned. I waited for another 40 minutes and asked but it was still not cleaned. In the end, I could only be given a cleaned room but without a view.
No one took the initiative to help with the luggage. I called the front desk three times before it got through...
Although I was later given a new room, the overall experience was still not good.
GGuest UserCheck in at the front desk. Since we arrived in the morning, we thought we couldn't check in yet. Unexpectedly, we were given a room, which was pretty good. However, what happened later affected our good reviews. The room card I was given couldn't be opened. I went back to the front desk to set it up, and when I went back to the room, the door was open, but it turned out that it was not the room type I booked. I booked a room with a king-size bed and a sofa bed, but I was given a room with only a king-size bed. So I went back to the front desk... The front desk said that the system of Ctrip and their hotel was different, so they couldn't be sure that I booked a room with a sofa bed. I showed them the confirmation letter again and asked them to find the manager for me. Let us use the current room first. So we went out to play and planned to come back later. At night, there was still no room, and the manager asked me to show the confirmation letter again. Then he said that the sanitation was still being cleaned, and it was expected to be more than an hour before I could get the room, and he would call the current room. As a result, after more than an hour, I was finally given the room I wanted. Hahaha, it was quite a hassle.
GGuest UserWe had a good time to staying the hotel, service is good, great location, facilities are good, the room is clean. We had breakfast, food is good .
VVivLuWe arrived in the morning and the room was not ready yet. We were allowed to leave our luggage in the storage room. The check in was smooth, the room is big, the staff are friendly and helpful. The only minus point was the air conditioning was not functioning well in the room and the temperature could not be controlled from the room. It’s summer so the room was quite stuffy. Overall was good.

MMacrae86I'll start woth the positives, the check in staff accommodated my request for a room on the top floor with a view overlooking the city which didn't disappoint. The bed was very comfortable. Ample parking at the hotel, however you need to pay for this at £5 per 24hrs. Ideal location, we walked into the city centre which took around 30 minutes.
The negatives-
The rooms wasn't as clean as I would expect for a hotel. The windows were covered in mucky finger prints which automatically made me look at other areas of the room. The bathroom looked very worn and could do with a few touch ups. Carpets were dirty, dust hair and other bits under the bed. Bedside tables were sticky and the TV remove would be my number 1 suspect in the next pandemic outbreak. The iron board in the room was broken and extremely small.
Breakfast is included in the price, however its low quality products, the scrambled egg tastes like powdered egg, sausages are tastless and more often than not, over cooked as was the bacon.
The staff were all very friendly and polite. With a little maintenance to bring the rooms back up to the usual Holiday Inn standard and if house keeping paid a little more attention to detail, the rooms would feel alot more comfortable.
GGoh67Is very convenient for first timer in Edinburgh especially helping children to get ready on their university. Near tram/bus station to travel to city. A day ticket fixes everything. Supermarkets like Home Bargain, Aldi and Tesco are nearby to buy the household stuff. 20 mins from Airport very convenient.

GGuest UserGood location for the Secure Airport Parking, a 5 minute walk. Check-in and out was quick. Room was clean with a new bathroom, which had a powerful hot shower. Corridors and communal areas could do with a freshen up and the carpets cleaned. Free breakfast had basic cereals, natural yogurt and a hot selection- sausage, bacon etc.

AAshish23This hotel stay was amazing. Right from booking until check out, it was very smooth. While I was booking, I believe it was Keiran who helped me cancel and rebook with ease. We had the breakfast in the hotel which was good. But the location of this hotel is impressive everything is close by. All attractions, restaurants, bars, etc are close. Thank you Leonardo for this amazing experience. We will definitely look out for your other properties.
GGuest UserThe room was much better than expected, clean and comfortable. Self-service check-in and check-out were quick and convenient. If you don't know how to use it, you can call and ask for patient guidance. If you don't know how to use the access control, you can ask the staff. The location is far from the city center and various attractions, about 30 minutes walk, but you can take the bus.
In summary, it is still a good choice. After all, hotels in Edinburgh are crazy expensive. I will stay in this hotel again.
GGuest UserArrived at property same time as another guest and he phoned owner who gave us code to get in and let us know we’re to get keys for room. Room was lovely with tea and coffee facilities and comfy bed. Bathroom sink was blocked. Overall nice accommodation and close to bus stop for town.
