"The room was a single bed with shared bathroom located at the Grant House on the property. I arrived early in the morning and was allowed to leave my bag with reception. I explored the city and came back in the afternoon to check in. My room was dated but clean. It has a single bed with two pillows and a duvet. It was comfortable to sleep in. The room has a sink in the room as well which was handy as I could easily wash up in the room. There is access to the common pantry on the same level with microwave, electric kettle and small refrigerator. Laundry facilities is also available on the same floor. There were 3 individual shower room on the same floor. I used my own toiletries as the ones provided didn’t feel adequate. The shared shower rooms were cleaned daily by the housekeeping team. I was given two sets of bath towels for my stay. Reception was open 24/7. Free Wi-Fi access and lots of power sockets within the room. Hangers were provided in the wardrobe as well. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of variety and plenty of fruits. Plus good selection of coffee, tea and juices. Good affordable accommodation for solo travelers. Location is easily accessible with local bus with bus stop just 5-7mins walk. Arthur’s seat is located just behind the property and easy access to a beautiful walk and hike."

"The room was great – spacious, convenient, and affordable. The views from outside were lovely, and it was easy to get around. The bubble tea shop downstairs served really good bubble tea, just like the ones back home. My only issue was that when I booked through Ctrip, it said breakfast was available, so I added it to my reservation. However, when I got to the hotel, I found out there was no restaurant, which contradicted what was stated on Ctrip. Luckily, after I reported it to Ctrip, they quickly resolved the issue and refunded the extra breakfast fee."

"Although many people don't have good reviews of it, I'm going to give it high marks. It's not far from the city centre and is cheaper than other hotels. The room is clean and spacious and staff are friendly. It also offers free toiletries at the reception. I especially recommend this place for students who are coming to Edinburgh for traveling, as it has no difference from other student flats!"

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I stayed at Destiny Student – Holyrood and had a really good experience. The place is very budget-friendly – great value for the money. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and it’s in a perfect location for exploring Edinburgh. Many attractions are nearby, which made it very convenient for sightseeing. If you’re looking for an affordable stay while enjoying everything Edinburgh has to offer, I would highly recommend this place to everyone."

"Room was quite small but very thoughtfully laid out. Bed was extremely comfortable and the amenities were good quality - Molton Brown toiletries, GHD hairdryer and Nespresso coffee machine. The complimentary drink at 5pm was a nice touch. The only downside was the lack of breakfast in the hotel itself. However, we had a good discounted breakfast at The Huxley and a 50% discount at Castle Terrace car park."

"The location of this hotel is just on the border of the city centre, so it feels a lot quieter compared to right on the High Street. My room was a windowless Queen Room, with plenty of storage space for 2 people.  I quite like the design of the room, where 1 side of the room is the washing facilities. Unfortunately, the night when I stayed, there were many loud door slamming during the night.  I've got woken up many times. I had the breakfast downstairs at around 9:30am, and it closes at 10am.  The hot food was very dry, so probably been sitting around for some time.  If I stay here again, I would go elsewhere for breakfast."

"Although it's a bit of a walk to most of Edinburgh's main tourist attractions (averaging about 30 minutes), Calton Hill is only a 10-minute stroll away. There's also the St James Quarter, a shopping center with everything you could need, just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, along with an affordable Tesco supermarket at the same distance. Plus, if you're doing a Rabbie's Tour like I did (I went to the Isle of Skye), the hotel is super close to the departure point at Edinburgh Bus Station, about a 3-minute walk. The only slight drawback was my room was on the basement level with no elevator, making check-in and check-out a bit of a struggle. The staff offered to help with my bags, but mine was really heavy, so I felt a bit awkward asking. You might want to take them up on their offer! (Bonus tip: Directly across from Tesco, you'll find the Sherlock Holmes statue and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Birthplace – a pleasant surprise for fans!)"

"It was a pretty location, just 20-30 minutes walk to city center and main attractions. Easily accessible by bus and tram. Shops nearby like tesco and sainsburys. We had a very clean room and a shared kitchen which had all facilities, so it was easy to prepare food. They also had a nice common room. 24/7 reception which really helpful. Must recommend place for people traveling in budget."

"The apartment allows cooking, and the location is great. However, when I checked in, there were two noticeable hairs on the pillows that clearly weren't mine. Other than that, the place was pretty clean, and the surrounding area was very quiet."

"I just wanted to follow up regarding the situation we encountered when we arrived. We had booked three double rooms for two nights so that our group could stay together. Unfortunately, we were informed at check-in that one of the rooms had no electricity and couldn’t be used, and one of our friends had to be moved to a different hotel. We completely understand that unexpected issues can sometimes happen. However, since we specifically booked three rooms in the same hotel so our group could stay together, having one of us placed somewhere else has been quite inconvenient for us and has made it more difficult to coordinate our plans during the trip. In addition, the hotel that was arranged for our friend was unfortunately of a much lower standard than the one we originally booked. This was quite surprising for us, especially since we had chosen and paid for your hotel expecting a certain level of comfort and experience for everyone in our group. While we appreciate that your staff tried to find a solution at the time, the overall arrangement has left us feeling rather disappointed with the situation. We hope you can understand why this has been frustrating for our group, and we would really appreciate it if you could let us know whether there is anything that can be done to help make up for the inconvenience caused.
