"Overall, my stay was very pleasant. The university campus atmosphere was lovely, and the environment was quiet and relaxed. The apartment building has excellent security; you need to swipe your room card to enter, which made me feel very safe. 📍 **Transportation:** From Edinburgh Waverley Station, I took a bus to the Commonwealth Pool stop. From there, it was a 7-minute walk to the front desk with my luggage to check in. Within a 10-minute walk of the apartment, there's a commercial street with plenty of restaurants, making dining very convenient. 🏠 **Room Type:** I booked a twin room with an private bathroom. The room was clean and bright, though the space felt a bit cramped after placing my 28-inch suitcase. 🚿 **Bathroom:** The apartment doesn't provide shower gel or shampoo, so you need to bring your own. The showerhead was fixed and not adjustable, and the water pressure was a bit low. The bathroom has a heated towel rail, but the towels provided were quite dirty, so I'd recommend bringing your own. 🍳 **Communal Kitchen:** Other guests mentioned a communal kitchen, but we tried swiping our card and couldn't open the door, so we weren't able to use it. 🧺 **Facilities:** There's a self-service laundry room on the LG floor. Washing starts from £2 for about 30 minutes, and drying costs £1 for an hour, which is very affordable. The apartment doesn't provide laundry detergent, so you need to bring your own. 🍽️ **Breakfast:** You need your room card to enter the restaurant. The dining area is spacious, and the breakfast selection covers all the basics and was sufficient. You can enjoy breakfast before checking out. 🧳 **Service:** Free luggage storage is available, which is a great bonus! 👍"

"This hostel truly feels like a home away from home. The environment is clean and comfortable, the common areas are cozy and well-designed, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic, always patiently offering travel advice, which made my trip much smoother. The location is convenient and the atmosphere is friendly, making it perfect for backpackers to meet new friends. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit."

"The hotel and its staff were excellent. They were always willing to meet your needs. The rooms were very well designed and clean, especially the bathroom. The location was great. You can reach Princes Street in just 25 minutes on foot. The bus stop was very close to the hotel. we could even say it was directly in front of it. By bus, you can reach almost anywhere in 10 minutes. The rooms were quiet and warm."

"The room was clean; however, it was poorly lit, and the dark wall colors did not help at all. Although we chose a room without windows, we did not expect such poor ventilation or effectively none at all. Our room was located on the ground floor, and there was no reception, while the hotel Wi-Fi also did not work downstairs. Soundproofing was very poor, which contributed to a situation that left us quite dissatisfied. While my friend was in the common area trying to get a connection, she was disturbed by guests who were clearly intoxicated and were rude and abusive towards her. When I went to get her, I was also sworn at, and we quickly returned to our room to avoid the situation. She also noticed that several people passing through seemed to be familiar with these guests and did not acknowledgethe ongoing situation. Later in the evening, around 21:00, one guest began crying loudly and there was a heated argument between them and another guest. Due to the poor soundproofing, we could hear everything clearly. We tried contacting reception about the situation, but they did not answer our calls. We felt unsafe leaving the room. Eventually, someone came down and only asked the guests if they were okay, and the situation was left unresolved. The noise continued for quite some time, and our sleep was significantly disturbed. Overall, we felt unsafe staying here."

"Although it's a bit of a walk to most of Edinburgh's main tourist attractions (averaging about 30 minutes), Calton Hill is only a 10-minute stroll away. There's also the St James Quarter, a shopping center with everything you could need, just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, along with an affordable Tesco supermarket at the same distance. Plus, if you're doing a Rabbie's Tour like I did (I went to the Isle of Skye), the hotel is super close to the departure point at Edinburgh Bus Station, about a 3-minute walk. The only slight drawback was my room was on the basement level with no elevator, making check-in and check-out a bit of a struggle. The staff offered to help with my bags, but mine was really heavy, so I felt a bit awkward asking. You might want to take them up on their offer! (Bonus tip: Directly across from Tesco, you'll find the Sherlock Holmes statue and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Birthplace – a pleasant surprise for fans!)"

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 We had a wonderful stay at Ten Hill Place Hotel and would happily stay here again on our next visit to Edinburgh. The location is excellent—situated in a quiet area while still being within easy walking distance of the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, the University of Edinburgh, and many great restaurants and cafés. It was the perfect base for exploring the city. The room was modern, spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. The bed was especially comfortable, and we had a great night’s sleep. Everything was well maintained, and the room had all the amenities we needed. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional throughout our stay. Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient, and everyone was happy to help with any questions we had. Overall, Ten Hill Place Hotel offers excellent value for money, combining a fantastic location, comfortable rooms, and outstanding service. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again."

"Amazing service and room, the restock on shortbread biscuits really topped it off. My guy at the reception was great for information and helping us out. The hotel location is perfect, right next to victoria street and when you step outside you have a clear view of the castle. The facilities are good, with a sauna and swimming pool nearby. Only thing I would mention is the shower temperature not being above luke warm but that’s personal preference. Would highly recommend this hotel."

"This hotel, nestled at the foot of Calton Hill, was the perfect summer escape. It's incredibly convenient for exploring Calton Hill and other attractions, including the train station. Just across the road, there's a John Lewis department store, making it a quiet oasis right in the heart of things. The rooms are spacious, and I loved that there were plenty of outlets for charging all my devices 😅. Before heading out for a Highlands tour, I grabbed some water, chocolates, and snacks from the small shop opposite the Reception, which was super convenient. The staff were patient and helpful, which I really appreciated. Next time I'm in Edinburgh, I definitely want to try the hotel's 1802 restaurant, I've heard good things about it. Plus, the seating area right outside the hotel entrance was great for resting and managing luggage. 👍"

"This is an excellent hotel! The reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Upon check-in, they immediately offered a glass of champagne, which was a lovely touch. Our room was clean, pleasant, and had everything we could need: a Dyson hairdryer, a ghd straightener, a clothes steamer, and a completely free mini-bar. The mini-bar was stocked with beer, sodas, cocktails, and various snacks. The bed was super comfortable! Our room had a view of The Balmoral Hotel. Breakfast was amazing: there was a buffet with delicious options and the ability to order from a menu, including a traditional Scottish breakfast, Eggs Benedict with salmon, and more. If we're ever in Edinburgh again, we'll definitely stay here!"
